If you want something to move randomly anywhere, do:
when green flag clicked
pen down
forever
glide (1) secs to x: (pick random (-240) to (240)) y: (pick random (-180) to (180))
end

Ah, hrm. Post projects, and scratchers will give you tips/suggestions/criticism/advice/whatever that will let you improve on that project. Then you know how you need to improve and what you're good at. Then you can make better projects! At the very least, hone your programming skills and post random stuff. You might find scratchers loving a project you didn't think they would be interested in

Yes, I'm bad with giving advice. But I would be happy it if you at least found a useful hint out of it! :D

If a scratcher's signature was ‘eaten by an angry kumquat’, then why do they still have signatures? Hmm….

I need to make better projects! Please help!

My first project moved a ghost around with the arrow keys.
My second project added other ghosts you shot fireballs at. It contained 2 sprites.
I then figured out how to make a platformer, then figured out how to simulate enemy movement, then went to advanced jumping (never got the hang of that.)
I just did what I was interested in, and in 3 months I had 40 half-finished projects stored on my parent's computer. Then it was just pick of the litter.

Make one of everything- or at least work on it until you get bored. Platformers, top down games, rpgs, stuff you make up out of thin air. When you can't think of anything else, maybe one will pop in your head and you will go work on it again. After I stopped making random stuff, I decided I wanted to make a project like halo (hadn't even played it at the time,) so I took my platforming engine, added the master chief sprites from the “woodunns world” sample project (this was 1.4), and the gun shot lasers. 1 year later, I came back to it, and renamed that project “halo scratch alpha build”. When I found the old woodunnes world sprites too limiting, I went on the internet and came back with loads of sprites and skills I never knew existed. That became deternity, that became the 2d edition of Combat evolved. 2 years ago, I sat down at my computer and said, “what do I want to make?” and decided I wanted to use those neat looking woodunnes world sprites to make a game. Now, the third release of that project has almost 400 views (not phenomenal, but still something.)

You can find the latest of that project here.

I guess what I am trying to say is, it's a slow process. How do you move stuff? becomes How do I scroll? becomes How do I shoot a laser? becomes how can I make this enemy shoot a laser when I am in front of it? Pick something, it doesn't need a story, or music, or decent sprites. That comes with polish. The most important piece of any game is always the code. Start small, then expand. Just don't make a ghost move around with the arrow keys, I ran out of ideas pretty fast.

“Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!” -Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Science
