There's hardly anything to say that hasn't been said already. IIRC the Scratch Team aren't even really opposed to custom reporters.

Snap IS byob (source: snap devs and the manual)
BYOB was renamed to snap to stop it from getting blocked in schools (source: the snap manual)
Snap also isn’t a mod it’s a remake, the code inherited from scratch was rewritten when the snap rebranding was added. They just both use blockly so the code looks somewhat similar (source: Snap devs)

They did have it but it was removed right before 1.4

For the return block, they should add a “Return a value” box below the “Run without screen refresh” box when creating a new function.

I don't think it would be a problem for beginner and it will increase the game performances because scratch algorithm will have less blocks to check when running a project.

Scratch need a feature to align shapes in the costume editor when the are moved or resized!
Please add it!
