Accelerometer

Most windows and mac laptops have an accelerometer in them to keep the hard drive from crashing when it's moved. Maybe there could be three sensor blocks that access the accelerometer. Block 1 would be up and down, Block 2 would be forward and back, and block 3 would be left and right. The blocks would be measured like this, 100 to -100. Using the blocks you could perhaps make an earthquake detecter, or an alarm that goes off if someone picks up your laptop.

Example of a webpage using accelerometer.
When it loads move your laptop upside down and stuff!

(if it doesn't work either your using a desktop, macbook air, or your laptop doesn't have an accelerometer)

Interesting idea, but why would you leave Scratch on all night?
Also, there's the risk of tipping your laptop too far back and dropping it…

…Uh…Okay?
But the accelerometer block wouldn't work well with someone who has their laptop on their lap. Shifting feet, etc…
Also, what about the people with nonaccelerometer laptops or desktop computers?

Okay (give it a heat break) but do you shake it around in your sleep? Plus, I don't support, because I'm not as comfortable shaking around my laptop as a tablet. When the Scratch app comes for IOS and Android next year, it will support the accelerometer and gyroscope, and other features like that.

They will probably have this for the iPad version of Scratch.

Even though it's possible to detect the accelerometer, I doubt it serves a good practical purpose for Scratch. Most Scratchers don't use laptops, so it puts them at a disadvantage with this idea.
