So I saw a project that broke the community guidelines. I reported it, and wondered "Will this user see something saying

and then get angry at me, or will they receive an anonymous message, or no message at all?" I've never gotten an alert, so I don't know…

The user will receive a blue message containing a warning from the Scratch Team explaining what he or she did which was against the Community Guidelines. Your report is anonymous.

Not completely. The Scratch Team will know who reported the project. The user who got reported will get alerted by the Scratch Team, but will not disclose any information about who reported them. Not unless you tell them. So unless you want to get a 300 post rant, then please don't.

When i wrote “anonymous,” I meant for the reported Scratcher.

Reports are first-class citizens!11!!11! You can pass them to the Scratch Team without giving a name!11!11!!

Pretty sure that you can't look at the project again if u report it

Why would you be scared? If you feel like the report you made was accurate and true, then have the courage of your convictions and who cares if it's anonymous or not.

That you don't want to be bothered or whatnot by the person you have reported? Well, then just report that person to the scratch team for harassing you if they become a problem after the report.

It's a mute point anyway since its all anonymous, but just saying….If you feel that justice is on your side then why are you scared of anyone feeling angry or whatnot. If you have mixed feelings then odds are that you are not reporting something that is truly offensive and its in that grey area where a judgement call must be made. Now if you feel like you want a scratch team member making that call that's understandable….however that means you are going to most likely become ‘that’ person who is basically NARC'ing on projects left and right with not much to stand on.

Don't worry if you report someone, they don't know who reported you. The person or creator of the project you reported will get a message from the Scratch Team saying how they got reported. As simple as that.

ya but that's still not fair for the person who got reported…because it would be good to know who reported you so you can ask that person who reported you why they reported you.So you could know why they reported your project and they can change the problem that got you reported then repost it.

They get an alert, if they break the rules too much, they get banned.

If it doesn't, you get an alert saying you “mis-reported” something.

Not necessarily. I've reported things that haven't been removed - apparently the Scratch Team didn't agree with my report. However, I've never actually been alerted for reporting something that I shouldn't have - I think if the Scratch Team can see why you would have legitimately reported something, they don't alert you.

@PrincessPanda_test_ is right same thing happened to my friend about mis-reported message.
