Heya!

I'm wondering what stuff the Wii U can do other than play games on a tv? Can you play games while on a car/plane ride? What internet options does it have? Anything useful about it? Can't you use it to draw/sketch a bit too?

((I'm not meaning I'm asking because I wanna use it for useful stuff or whatever only, It'd be purchased by me to play games of course XD I just wanna know what other things it would be capable of, including useful things ~ yaknow? ))

I'm asking because I'm interested in purchasing one and may end up doing so soon. And I knew that some of you guys HAVE Wii Us, so I figured I'd ask since I wanted to know. :3

I've had my Wii U for a whole two days now! I'm totally an expert!

Can you play games while on a car/plane ride?

Sadly, no, the wireless connection doesn't reach that far. I am, however, able to play games/watch videos in my room on the GamePad with the actual console being in the living room.

What Internet options does it have?

The Web browser works great, the picture quality on everything I've watched has been amazing actually. I actually prefer watching on the GamePad over the HDTV in the living room.

HTML5 online games will work on it, and the site KissAnime works good on it as well.

Anything useful about it?

Entertainment?

Can't you use it to draw/sketch a bit too?

Yes, there's an entire section for drawings in each community in the Miiverse. You can also sometimes see other players' drawings in-game (only seen this with Splatoon so far).

I highly recommend the Wii U!

I actually just finished watching a review by IGN on it.

You don't NEED internet to use it, do you?? You can use it offline and play games offline, correct??

You can use it without internet, but you're basically getting 1/4 of the features if you're never online.

There are many drawing apps for the Wii U. Even SSB4 has a drawing tool built in!

I got the Wii U for Christmas and I'm loving it. I especially like how you can link your Nintendo Network ID from the Wii U to the 3DS, which I also got.
First - You can also play most games on the GamePad, which is the tablet-like controller. Very useful for when your dad wants to watch a major football derby on the telly.
Second - You can't play games on a car or a plane ride.
Third - You can connect your Wii U to the internet, and it includes an internet browser.
Fourth - Go back to first.
Fifth - There are a couple of art games, but there is nothing built-in that allows you to draw or sketch.

I just got a Wii U for Christmas, and I'm lovin' the HD glory. One of the cool things about the Wii U is that it can play Wii games, so if you have any you don't need to throw them away!

Yes, you can use the Wii U offline for 90% of games (I'm pretty sure all games have an offline mode, but games like Splatoon aren't as fun without Internet). However, the console is enhanced greatly by the Internet.
