Something terrible and horrifying happened to me on October 5th…. and this comment chain will show you what I mean. And pay attention to what Scratcher 2 says, that is what made me make this topic.

Scratcher 1 : (username)! Somebody has been copying your project!
Me @ Scratcher 1: There is something we can do, and that is flag the project.
Scratcher 1: Cool! How do we flag projects?
Me: (explains how to flag projects)

Days later….

Scratcher 2 @ me: ;( Why are you so mean to this scratcher!?? I am actually crying now!! It's just remixing!! There is nothing wrong with that! Give him a chance! You are mean idiots! At least say sorry! Idiots!

Scratcher 2 @me again: And (username) is gone. You can't do anything but flag it!?? What's wrong with you!?

Me @ scratcher 2: The fact that the project got removed was because it was a copy. A remix is a modified version of a project. If it was a remix, it would have remained and I would have been warned in my message box or even banned. You can read more about project copying here: (links to wiki about project copying)

Scratcher 2@ me: I have reported you and there is no reason why I should be reported. I have reported you for how unfairly you have treated other scratchers.

Me @ scratcher 2: Since you reported me, the Scratch Team will look into it. If I did something wrong, I will get banned. If I did not do anything wrong, you will receive a warning in your message box.

Scratcher 2 @ me: I would just respect it if you kept those copy things in your mind. And remember, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it.

Me @ scratcher 2: Project copying exists and even the wiki talks about it. Also, I can see plainly that you aren't happy with what happened- the remix got removed. But I am not the one you should come to. If you disagree with something, you should contact the Scratch Team. They are the proper authorities to go to if you feel something is not right.

Scratcher2 did not respond to this. And the next day, the comment chain was gone.

That scratcher reported me…. for something I did not do. I did not treat scratchers unfairly!! Now… I am really worried!! I did warn that scratcher about reporting for false reasons…. but he already reported me!!!

What should I do!?? Would the Scratch Team ban me for something I did not do!? How will they know if I didn't do something bad? Do they keep a record of reports?
It has been a day since the incident happened (the day after this topic was created), but I am still waiting… tense about the alert/ban. Will I get it? Or would they just warn the attacker about reporting for no reason? If possible, can a Admin answer this!??

Please help… I am really worried!!

Keep your cool. He must have overreacted by reporting you, so I think his “counterattack” will not work.

P…..p……please.. Scratch Team….. don't b…..b…ban me! I got reported, because that scratcher accused me of treating others unfairly. Even though I responded to that and warned him about reporting others for no reason, I still am on the report list for the Scratch Team.

If you did nothing wrong, then you won't be punished. It's as simple as that. Also, you may want to read the sticky about what the ST does when they find something inappropriate. Bans are not usually the first course of action.

I think that attacker lost. No admin messages / alerts have been sent to my message box… at least just yet.

Now… my next question is : How does the Scratch Team know if that report was false? Do they keep a record?

It looks like that that attacker has lost! It has been 24 hours ever since the incident happened… and no Alerts / Admin Messages have been sent. Nor have I been banned! I guess that that attacker has only got himself a warning from the Scratch Team to not report others for something they did not do. But even if he did not receive a message, I have already warned him, gave him some advice, and he hasn't responded. But at least he reads my message. Oh, since the problem is solved…. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHWHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
