Codecademy website.

I found this website extremely helpful for learning basic programming when I had virtually nowhere else to go (and I actually was able to understand it!).

I strongly suggest this to beginners who have absolutely no experience with programming.

I started doing it awhile ago but I forgot everything I learned. I might try it again soon.

There was a story on the news about this. It seems pretty cool

I went through every course except API's and Ruby. Then I did the Code Year course. They have some good lessons, but they use outdated Python and in Code Year I saw way outdated jQuery. Some of their lessons were just so terribly written. Overall, I guess their pretty good.

It's a good site, it's just that the lessons highly vary in quality due to most of it being user-contributed.

I've done most of the tracks excluding PHP and Ruby.

it's good for learning the syntax and the very basics of a language, but i think there's better ways to learn it once you get past that stage

Bump (I was about to make a new topic)

One thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't require semicolons in Javascript. Other than that, it's good. My username is the same as on here.

I put them in there, anyway. I guess they don't require it because it really is optional, although I like that the ‘i’ comes up when you don't.

My sister does Codececadamy! She loves it. If you want to know how to code, with words, not just Scratch blocks, I strongly suggest Codececadamy.

Yeah.

I've been trying php, but with the lack of MySQL tables, I don't think I can learn that much there.

C# uses the .net framework in windows computers in which browsers are prohibited to directly utilize to prevent getting hacked.

So is there another reason <bad link snip> can include a C# compiler?
