Nice explanation! Want to know what the ranks mean?
What the difference between a ‘New Scratcher’ and ‘Forum Moderator’ is?
Here you go!
New Scratchers:Scratchers:
- They have the 180 second rule; this means they have to wait 180 seconds (3 minutes) between posts.
- They have to wait 30 seconds between comments.
- They are the only rank that cannot use Cloud Data.
- They cannot post the same comment three times in a row.
- They can only edit posts after the initial page load.
- They can't post links to non-scratch sites.
- For more info, look here.
Post lots of comments and projects to get promoted to Scratcher!Scratch Wiki Editors:
- They have the 60 second rule; this means they have to wait 60 seconds (1 minute) between posts.
- They cannot post the same comment three times in a row.
- They can freely edit their own posts.
- They can close their own topics IF it has been up for more than 24 hours.
- They can use Cloud Data.
Retired Community Moderators:
- Have all the Scratcher's permissions
- Can edit the Scratch Wiki
Note: This rank does not exist in 2.0, so all RCMs are Scratchers. The RCMs are:
Dazachi
illusionist
KajTheModerator
Wolfie1996
fullmoon
demosthenesCommunity Moderators:
- They have the 0 second rule.
- They also have all the stuff relating to being Scratchers, except the 60 second rule.
Scratch Team:
- They can receive reports from the forums, not the main website.
- They can move, close, delete and edit topics, even if they are not their own.
- They have the 0 second rule, which means no rule relating to the time between posts.
- They can access the Moderator forums.
If I have missed anything, please tell me!
- They can receive reports from the main website and forums.
- They can move, close, delete and edit topics, even if they are not their own.
- They have the 0 second rule, which means no rule relating to the time between posts.
- They can post in Announcements.
- They can remove projects from the website if it is inappropriate.
- They can ban users.
Strangely, mods used to be able to ban themselves and other mods!
Hi and welcome to all new Scratchers who read this!

ST wouldn't do that. Ban yourself? That's scratch suicide!

IKR! Of course the ST wouldnt ban themselves
And unfortunately a guide has closed due to this one being created after theirs, even though the ST explained how there is no copying.

Really? My brother probably posted 25 comments, 6 projects, (only 1 being a non-remix), and 3 forum posts, which doesn't seem like many to me. Are you sure that's the case? And does anyone know Post lots of comments and projects to get promoted to Scratcher!exactly how many comments/projects you need to make to be a Scratcher?

Cloud data is set to the same value for anyone who uses it. Regular variables can be different. What is cloud data? And how do I become a scratcher.
Keep creating projects, and writing comments, and you'll be a Scratcher soon.

No. Three. Even Paddle2See was a normal scratcher once, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) scmb1 was also a normal scratcher.Yes, but how many Scratchers have become ST? ONE. IN THE HISTORY OF SCRATCH. It's practically impossible.Sure you can. Chedargirl, a member of the Scratch Team was a regular scratcher, then a Moderator, and then a Scratch Team member. As far as I know, you can't. How can you become part of the scratch team?
