The “purpose” for love-its is to show how many people like your project, while not having a link on your homepage. I feel like love-it's are more “private”.

Well…

1.) Doesn't necessarily mean people will feel the need to favorite more, I mean, after all, you don't love-it a project just to make it show up on your follower's front page now, do you? You love-it because you like the project and want to show support! Even more so with faves.

2.) I'm picky with my favorites as well. Even with the new bar, this shouldn't be a problem.

Full support for new bar, not replacement.

You could make an alt account where you fav your real favorite projects, while on the main one faving projects you like and will want to come back to later. I fav what I'll come back to. You see I have a lot of favorites.
