I think the inbox would be furthermore efficient if the notifications were spaced closer together. This would reduce the overall size of the inbox and allow users the ability to see many more notifications at once.

Well, it would be harder to read…

Or we could ask to have a “resize” option for the notifications. You can choose to have compact, loose, and in between.
