Just what is going on?!?!
I was on Scratch, normally doing my work. Then, I decided that I should change the variable color. I did, but then, closed Scratch. Then, when I opened it again, there was only a blank screen. Then, I pressed something, and closed Scratch again. But after that, I could not even open it. So, I uninstalled Scratch and reinstalled it like everyone told me to. But I still could not open Scratch after that!!!
So, what is happening and what can I do about it?

What happened is that you messed up your version of Scratch by attempting to customize the variable color. It's a common problem that occurs when trying to mod Scratch in general. An advice for the future: keep two versions of Scratch 1.4 on your computer: one for modding, one that is left untouched.
You need to give a bit more info on the problem: what appears when you try to open up Scratch? Do any error messages come up, and if so, what do they say?

When I click the Scratch Icon, it highlights it with a square around it. But then, the square fades out. Scratch does not open.

Hmmm…. probably. But all the other programs run just fine. As for now, I have to use another account on the computer as a work around for that.Maybe its a problem with your computer? What happened is that you messed up your version of Scratch by attempting to customize the variable color. I had a similar problem. I changed the color of a variable, then before I could exit Scratch normally, I forgot to “turn fill screen on” and every time I opened Scratch it had a pop-up saying Squeak couldn't find Scratch, even though it was running Scratch, then proceeded to open a project that I deleted long ago… I uninstalled Scratch, waited a few weeks, then re-installed it and everything worked again.
Lesson learned: Be cautious when modifying the internal code of Scratch.

Just click the turn fill screen on, right click Scratch R logo, and click “same image for end user”. Then, it is solved.
