What was with the outage?

Did anyone else experience that recent outage? Any insights as to why?

Yes, I’ve experienced it, on both of my devices. On my laptop and on my phone.

here is the stages I witnessed for this outage:
stage 0: early/mid day

cannot log into accounts

stage 1: mid day

cannot save projects, projects still loaded on front page and rest is playable on the scratch website.
people cannot save projects or create, or even make new thumbnails

stage 2: late day

front page doesnt load correctly, the front page doesnt show thumbnails and every is just called ‘Project’
Website is having major breaking issues

stage 3: finale

the website changes to ‘The Scratch Team is working hard to fix an issue with the Scratch website’
scratch team is working

end

its finished

I was not able to comment in discussion forums and scratch was being glitchy

Studio comments were acting up and the first time I press post, it wouldn't post so I have to wait a minute for a single comment to post. It seems to be better now although that could've been one of the problems fixed during downtime.

The opposite was happening for me, my project that was trying to create and share didn’t save to the servers at first and then the next several instances, and then I was able to share it after it was saved after trying several times by spamming it, I guess.

I don’t know if I tested studio comments though.

I'm certain that I never experienced the outage. The only outage that I experienced was the one on February 6th, 2026, which got me banned for 3 days the day after. Also, when did this occur? I may have been at school during the outage.

Yea it went down around 8:20 yesterday I think. It made the whole site look like this
