P2S doesn’t really share a reason why he closed it

probably due to all the arguing, i think he meant they need to figure out what to do with it and see if it's worth reopening or if it'll just cause more arguments

He does share a reason: “Closed while discussions about the value of this discussion is being considered.” This means the Scratch Team is discussing whether or not this topic is going to be useful.

I do think it is related to the recent discussion that SMP/YAB members should not be sharing new information without approval from the Scratch Team. A topic about NGP questions sounds like it could very well lead to leaks from the SMP/YAB teams — and it seems like this has happened before — in addition to discussions about whether or not there should be such leaks.

Mostly the SMP/YAB leaks (or potential for leaking), I think. (not certain though)

It's honestly pretty useless now that it just causes arguments and all of the info we know has been milked to the point there is nothing to go around.

Because arg/flame wars never end off on a good note or never end well lol.

Well there's a difference between the 4.0 and NGP topics, Paddle2See had to shut down the NGP one but I ended up shutting the 4.0 one down because things were escalating into the flamewar that ended it all. The 4.0 topic never got as out of hand as the NGP topic did. I do have to admit, though, I do feel a bit responsible about the NGP closure…
