I don’t think anyone knows for sure, but people sure are speculating.

Well by codebee saying “no.” To a countdown involving November 19th, the Scratch team is scratching their heads on the date.

An example you can see is in fact, every time scratch goes down! There is a certain social media site users are banned from saying, but yet it’s there every time the site goes down.
Except that isn’t Scratch Team; thats the website itself
Well then who made the website

Mitchel Resnik (@mres on scratch) and a bunch of other people from the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at MIT in 2007.

…you guys couldn't even understand that why would a person working for his job would leak his workplace confidential things?? Codubee was messing with you all, he will 100% not tell you the real announcement or NGP dates and this topic is to discuss “confirmed” details, not to spread rumors, force or harrass ST members into telling details about NGP, speculate dates, and/or to spam.
Why would he lie? If he really wasn't allowed to share information about the NGP why reply at all?
hate to break it to you, but @scratchniceperson is probably right. It probably won't come out ‘til 2027 or December, and my guess is that the whole “It’s November” “One of you is right” thing was supposed to throw people off to get people excited. It probably will be December 19th or sometime early 2027. Keep in mind all that I'm typing is a guess, and I understand this was a VERY late quote. If I missed anyone else saying the exact same thing, I am sorry. Putting that aside, I'd like to mention that NGP has a chance of not coming until right before 4.0. While that has a very low chance based on information we have now, you never know what might happen and I'd like to throw that out there.

Where is the source stating that the announcement was today (November 5th). I haven't heard this in Codubee's profile comments.
There was a couple comments from codubee where he talked about “maybe it's november generation platform…”, later saying “one of you are right to a couple comments, one with November 19th as the date and the other being or december 19th (jokingly mispelled a fair bit)

Another comment from him said that it would take about 2-3 weeks after an announcement before the site closed down to switch to the new update. People took that literally and subtracted 19 -14 to get 5.

So now people think that it's gonna get announced today, ignoring things like Codubee saying that it would be ”about“ 2 weeks, not 14 days as an exact minimum.

That, along with the whole deal of codubee saying ”WRONG!" to a few statements in the same reply thread about the general range for the NGP releasing (some of said statements being wrong being contradictory) and people trying to take it seriously, has caused me to believe that posts in this forum are mostly just speculation, and shouldn't be taken as fact.

In response to the entire ongoing debate surrounding this topic, I would like to state my opinion now: codubee probably shouldn't have said anything in regards to NGP release dates.

When people started asking him about that, he gave answers that I now think were not serious. Perhaps he only said them as a joke, and to divert public attention away from the real date (which probably wasn't and still remains undecided). However, this has also left the public overly excited and impatient, especially now, as the end of 2026 draws near. This prompted the public to ask him even more about the matter, which led codubee to provide false answers which made the public more impatient which led them to press him for more answers and for him give more false answers, and then a cycle of misinformation continued from there.

Maybe instead, he should have been more honest with the dates or just give broad windows. For example:

What codubee should have wrote:

To be honest, we haven't really decided on a date, all we have is a goal to release it before 2027 (like what the official announcement said)

That's allowed, because the ST aren't posting bad stuff on their Twitter

It's sad how nobody seems to believe in transparency anymore. The community needs transparemcy

I have a prediction. The announcement for the NGP will be released on November 5th. The NGP itself will be released on November 19th.
For the release date, I went off what codubee has said on his profile about “one of you is correct” and how December is officially ruled out. For the announcement, I used multiple sources. 1.) The NGP will release 2 to 3 weeks after the announcement. Add 2 weeks to November 5th and that aligns perfectly with the 2-3 weeks. 2.) I used some of my own logical thinking. 2015 and 2019 were some of the major years for Scratch. In 2015, the community reached about 10 million projects (I’m pretty sure) and the community also grew. In 2019, Scratch 3.0 was released. Take the numbers for 2015 and 2019. 201(5) and 20(19) that is November 5th and 19th. If this is correct, I think we’ve just solved codubee’s hidden code.
That's smart, but about the release date, I don't think they'd release on that day thought. But I think that's smart though. Well done!

It basically mean they don't want anyone to know about their “private discussions”
If I want to compare an average SMP member's transparency to an object, it would be a solid wall of concrete
