What is that place?
The official description of the forum by the Scratch Team states that it is a forum where the community can receive “updates from the Scratch Team” which means this forum contains updates about Scratch (e.g. Video updates, Wiki Wednesday updates, new rules and regulations, etc) and any other information which the Scratch Team wishes to share with the community.

Are there any rules?
Yes! There are some rules in the Announcement Forum you may need to know:
1. Do not post off-topic - If you see a Scratch Announcement topic open, you can post something related to the topic.
2. Do not blockspam - It can crash some devices and become annoying. Use the green checkmark in the reply box to test it.
3. Do not spam - It creates unwanted posts.

I see some regular Scratchers have topics here, why?
Some regular Scratchers may show up posting there and that's okay! Sometimes the Scratch Team merges posts to Announcements.

Note: The Scratch Team members are the only users allowed to create new threads in the forum and any user may post on the threads though the Scratch Team usually closes them down after a few days/weeks of open commenting or immediately.

Anyway, somewhere on the directory, u might want to specify that the topic was moved to announcements (just so ppl don't ask how the topic ended up there)

Yeah but the Announcements forum still contains it in history. (and no one said Wiki Wednesday will never come back nor Video updates)

Wiki Wednesday is only on pause due to wiki issues, and no one said that Video Updates won't come back in the future.
