Cloud variable issues...

umm i found out is that a lot of accounts are overloading the servers no hackers and stuff

Most “hackers” can't do much other than change the cloud variables

They could only go down if there was a major oversight, or the ST pulled the plug.

true not hackers just a buncha inocent scratch accounts used servers all at once it overloaded the servers it is best to use them at a time that students will not be using the variables

I agree. I have a project it is free cloud chat but while testing the « bad words detector », I typed I bad word but cloud blocked right at this moment so it is blocked on a bad word. I unshared it to avoid reports.

Wdym bad words detector? If its an online game no one should be able to use bad words because st does not allowed free chats, if you want ur players to chat you need to add a whitelist, a white list is were the cant chat freely, but instead they have to choose a list of pre-written words

Example:

when green flag clicked
forever
if <key [1 v] pressed?> then
say [Hi]
end
end

And you can also use lists to show ur players what pre-ritten words there are

You cannot have a free chat list on scratch. It is prohibited. You have to create a whitelist… (sometimes not reliable) it is the best.

I just became a Scratcher, and I just cannot use cloud servers, etc.

I emailed the Scratch Team about it, and two months later they emailed back just to say “we could not find any issues on our end” and suggested a few reasons why it could just be a me problem. Well, I just tested cloud on an alt account, and it worked, yet it still doesn't work on this account.

An issue on my end, hm?

Cloud variables are currently experiencing problems… Such as: The “Zero Sync” Glitch: Many users report that changing a cloud variable on one device fails to update on another, or completely resets back to 0 when the project is reloaded. There are a few more but hopefully the ST is fixing the cloud variables.

I actually played a multiplayer game on turbowarp, and it worked! Which is weird, because on turbowarp, Isn't it not supposed to update cloud variables? or is that just me

Turbowarp has its own cloud variable servers.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did that earlier but it's never a bad idea. Unfortunately my luck did not turn.

oh student accounts did that it is best to use at days student accounts are inactive and a buncha accounts can pull the plug you can use turbowarp servers

I've been having issues too with cloud variables.
Some cloud projects don't even work…
Can't update

(☁ cloud variables)

without sharing project, recreating them doesn't seem to reset them…

its been troubling me for a while… I don't know how to fix it either…
