Cabin Wars 2 Rules and Wars:
Rules:
• Full guidance for cabin wars is found here, in this project ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/741708249/ ) by Luna.
• You may not plan wars with other cabins (e.g. strategically planning to war an ally or get a war yourself), but you may plan wars within your own cabin. The one exception to this is asking generically for “a war” (not a specific one!) in the main cabin.
• A cabin can opt to write half the required words for ONE war every cabin wars day.
• Valid wars cannot be taken back.
• Your cabin may not war another cabin twice in a row.
• A cabin cannot be warred the same war nor extra challenge twice in a row.
• You must use the given wars. You may not make up your own.
• There is a 3 hour shield time, where a cabin may not be warred for 3 hours between each war.
• Leaders and cos may end their cabin's shield early if they wish, but they must lower it by commenting in the studio of their cabin.
• Each word you write may only count towards one war at a time.
• You do not have to ask before warring a cabin, though your leaders can set guidelines (based only on cabin relationships, not rankings).
• Cabin wars must be sent manually (not with bots).
• There is no penalty if you break a rule; the war just won’t count.

Weekly 4 Words 4002 (excluding words in bold)
(Subgenres of Fantasy chosen: High, Cozy and Sword and Sorcery.)
High Fantasy, in my opinion, is epic. It's crazy, fast-paced, usually a lot of excitement and battles, (mostly battles between good and evil) and best of all, that's the subgenre which “The Lord of The Rings” was set in. High Fantasy is heroic, it's always full of things happening, and there's not often a dull moment. All of this makes High Fantasy difficult to write in, but if you manage it, it can be VERY rewarding indeed. I love the never-stop theme to it, and the fact that magic normally plays a big part in the plot. Also the epic scale storyline is complex, but easy for the reader of High Fantasy to understand. High Fantasy is a brilliant subgenre, and one I'm looking forward to writing in more in the future, maybe it might even become one of my favourites! It may be chaotic, but it's organised chaos. It may feature a lot of battles, but there is often plot-building in between excitement. Magic features in High Fantasy very often, but it doesn't always take the main focus of the story. And if it does, it plays a large part in the plot (usually). It's a very good subgenre.
Cozy Fantasy is also a good subgenre. It makes magic a large part of it, blending the magic with cozy themes and a general feel-good story with a happy ending. It's a lovely genre, and easier to write, in my opinion, than High Fantasy, which is quite tricky to write well in. You must get the balance right between making magical events and making it very comfortable and warm, which plays a major part of the plot. It's most often set in a highly detailed, beautiful and happy world, with magical elements combined with it. I haven't read very many Cozy Fantasy books, but they look interesting and nice, one in particular sounds good called “Legends and Lattes”, so maybe I will read more soon. It's a very wonderful subgenre, one that I'm eager to try writing in myself, though I doubt it'll become my new favourite style of writing. It's more calm and slow-paced than High Fantasy, but is still nice, just more cozy and focuses more on very detailed settings and the magical events and usually a happy ending. Again, it's usually got a good plot, and is easy to read and understand, like High Fantasy. I personally think this is a very good subgenre of Fantasy, and I can't wait to try writing in it soon, hopefully quite a lot, but maybe just a few short stories. Cozy Fantasy is a great subgenre of Fantasy!
A third good subgenre of Fantasy is Sword and Sorcery. I particularly like it because it has excitement and chaos, but rather than a saving the world quest, it focuses on the survival of the protagonist or protagonists. It's also a unique form of Fantasy, because magic is rare, and where it does get used, is often treated as “dangerous” rather than important. It also (often, not always) focuses on small-scale battles with ambiguous characters. It's a cool subgenre, but I don't like it so much as Cozy Fantasy and High Fantasy, which are both very good subgenres of Fantasy. I don't know many books which use Sword and Sorcery, so I don't know as much about it. One good example though, is a book called “Conan the Barbarian”, which looks interesting and is well-known. I'm looking forward to attempting to write some of my own fantasy using the Sword and Sorcery subgenre, as it's something I haven't tried before and it sounds quite cool. It also focuses more on a corrupted setting, with the protagonist(s) fighting for revenge or survival instead of out of the kindness of their hearts or duty. It's also got smaller scale quests rather than the epic “saving the world” type quests of High Fantasy, which makes a pleasant change.
(Part 1: High Fantasy)
Woah!!! Where am I? I was confused, and I became even more confused when I heard a voice saying, “Come, Sarah, this way.” How did this person know my name??? I had no choice but to find out. I followed her. We were in a small forest, and there in the clearing was the person who had spoken to me. She was a fairy! “My name is Lilac, and you are Sarah.” I nodded, I was completely speechless. The next thing she said was “Come on, we don't have time to waste! Clearly you are our hero, come with me to the battle. See out there? There are trolls attacking, many have died and they are taking over our world!” So I shakily ran onto the battlefield. It was chaos around me, and as I frantically rushed around, I picked a fallen sword off of the ground. It didn't do me any good against the huge trolls, but at least I had a weapon now. What I had failed to notice was the troll stood behind me! With a clunk, I hit the ground and knew no more.
The battleground was chaos. Trolls were killing fairies and other magical creatures left, right and centre, and others were unconscious on the ground. Eventually, everyone had either fled for their lives or had already lost them. Except one. Sarah was still unconscious, but only for a minute.
Ahhh! I woke up on the battlefield, which was just me and a bunch of trolls now. It was almost empty. I scrambled to my feet, grabbed my sword and ran to the biggest troll I could see, clearly the leader of the trolls. I took a deep breath, and leaped into the air, wildly swinging my sword, and… I killed the troll, the other trolls shambled off, hanging their huge heads in anger, and I ran as fast as I could into the forest. Lilac greeted me there, with lots of the other fairies too. I had saved them, for now. But many of the trolls had survived, and they would definitely be back again soon, trying to take over the world. I couldn't go home yet, until every last troll gave up or was killed. And as the magical creatures and fairies weren't strong enough to kill trolls, it would have to be me. Like it or not, I would have to be the hero and save the world, to get back to my own. So day after day, I tracked down trolls, but they always got away from me too easily. So it wasn't until they attacked again that I could fight them. This time I was ready. I leapt into the battle; I meant business. I fought very bravely in that battle, giving the trolls everything I had… By the end of the battle I was exhausted, but I had done it. All the trolls were gone, every one of them. The fairies and other magical creatures were safe at last.
(Part 2: Cozy Fantasy)
Before the trouble started, each day I casually waved to my friends and the humans as I walked past. They waved back at me and my best fairy friend flew after me, for I was going to the Glowing Forest, to visit my family, the flower fairies. I myself was a fairy of the trees, like my best friend, Birch. “Hey, wait for me!” Birch called after me. So I let her catch up to me. Although the glowing woods were peaceful, we weren't alone. The humans, sometimes tramped through the forest too, and although they meant no harm, often stepped on fragile flowers. So we fairies had come up with a plan. The humans often spoke to us; they were our friends. We spoke to them and asked them to be more careful, but they weren't. So we used our delicate skills to build a barrier between the Glowing Woods and outside of them. (The woods) The humans got angry, and fought us. Many flower fairies, including my friends and family, escaped with their lives, but only just. We fought many battles, and today, as me and my best friend went through the forest, another battle started. I don't remember many details now, but all I know is that Birch was taken and didn't come back. Years passed. Now the fairies, including me, left the forest. But I came back daily to look for Birch. I looked for any sign of her, but the only thing I saw was her birch tree, looking weaker each day, the leaves shrivelling up. I knew then that I had to find Birch, otherwise her tree would die. So I set off and looked everywhere. I even asked the friendlier humans for help! But I had no luck, until I looked deep into the forest, and found a deep hole. Taking a breath, I jumped down. I gulped, realising how deep it is. Luckily, I remembered I could fly, and hovered my way down. I thought that I'd surely made a mistake, that Birch wouldn't be here, in this dark, dingy hole! But there she was, looking quite happy, but even happier when she saw me! She and the other flower fairies that had barely survived were down here, safe from the battles and danger. When she spoke to me, however, she convinced the other fairies to come back to the forest and strike a deal with the unruly humans. We managed to bargain with them. They wouldn't hurt the forest anymore, and we would gladly help them if they needed us. So we had managed to help the forest, and even Birch's tree survived, with plenty of care and watering. We were finally safe again, and became reconciled to our friends, the humans. I was also relieved that my family and Birch had survived, as I was very worried about them! We all got accustomed to our normal lives again, and the forest thrived more than ever, with the humans helping us.
(Part 3: Sword and Sorcery)
Arrgh! Gary was throwing himself into this battle. He did NOT want to let Dopin win this. I was out for revenge!
Gary was angry. Yes, he had started this huge battle, but Dopin and his army should've let him have the land! He hated not getting his own way, but Dopin, who was also a barbarian, hated that too! So they both gathered an army, and fought. After a few long hours, the armies were exhausted, and most of them dead. Gary was not having any of that, and he tied Dopin up and threw him away, almost as far as his land. There were more battles after that though, as Dopin's army was furious. They slashed Gary, and then clashed with each other about who got to kill him! Gary rolled away and attempted to crawl away whilst the enemies were fighting, and he succeeded. He left his army to die, and ran away for his own survival. He hadn't even gained ANYTHING by that battle! Meanwhile, Dopin was groaning and moaning a mile away, and he didn't know what he'd done wrong. All he'd said was that Gary couldn't have his land, and then he almost got killed! Dopin got up and went back to his land. He wouldn't give the land to Gary, but he also didn't want to fight again. “Most likely Gary's dead anyway” Dopin laughed. But Gary was alive alright, and now he wanted revenge even more! He wanted to kill Dopin and his army, and Gary even wanted to kill his OWN army, for “betraying” him! He hurries to Dopin's land, where he was abruptly stopped. A barbarian who Gary remembered was in Dopin's army, stopped him and asked what he was doing there. Gary, being not very quick-witted, said “I'm getting a cup of tea.” His panicked words did kind of work, as the barbarian was so confused that he let Gary go to see Dopin without an argument or battle. So Gary ran across the land, or rather, stumbled because he kept tripping over stones! When he got to Dopin, who was fast asleep on a rock, Gary was about to fight him when he stepped on Dopin's foot! Of course, that made Dopin wake up, so Gary was shoved backwards by the angry Dopin, and Gary saw that he'd drawn his sword. Gary panicked, said he was going, and ran away! He'd have to try again later. Later, he sneaked back, and got all the way to where Dopin was! It was at that moment, though, that Gary realised… he'd forgotten his sword! He couldn't be bothered to go back to his land, grab his sword and come all the way back, so he just gave up and walked away, or tried to. Dopin woke up at that moment, and was annoyed that Gary had come back again. Gary was forced to fight Dopin with his hands. He won, but Gary resolved to pick his fights carefully in future.
(Subgenres combined: Techno-Fantasy and Cyberpunk.)
In the cool, high-tech city, there were many people, most called Techies and a few magical pixies too, who had the power to control tech and use it to their advantage, until things went terribly, suddenly wrong. The year was 3026, and the Techies were struggling because people were invading, and they weren't normal Techies. The pixies had fled in fear too, apart from a few brave ones. The new people were deadly, and they could zap the power of the tech needed for the Techies' survival. Also in the city at that time were drones, which were becoming a problem as they were difficult to control. The Techies and pixies were clever though, and weren't going to give up without trying. So they kept trying to think of ways to stop the dangerous people, whom they named Zappz. The Zappz attempted to zap the technology of the city, but the Techies were prepared, and built a multi-tech bunker, where they could safely survive for a month or possibly more, if they were careful, especially with the help of Sparkle, the smartest and bravest pixie. After that failed attempt, the Zappz gave up for a while and left the Techies be, but everyone knew the relief was temporary, and wouldn't last for long. Life resumed some kind of normal, but the Techies were nervous, wondering how long it would last. In May 3026, the Zappz caused a power cut. Everything was destroyed. There were no drones to deliver food, no lights, no warmth in the homes, no communication, nothing. The Techies were split into small groups, with no way to connect to each other. Even Sparkle was nowhere to be seen, and the other pixies too! Then one, very clever, Techie remembered. “Wait! Can't we try to turn the tech on with our powers?” So the Techies, who were already despairing and desperate, tried their hardest. But without the tech to power them, they were in a vicious cycle. They needed tech to power their abilities to control the tech, but they didn't have tech unless they could turn it back on, which with the Zappz controlling it, was impossible. All hope seemed lost for the Techies, but then they realised. The Zappz would get tired eventually, and the power would come back on! They had hope, if they could survive for another few days, a week or two at most. That week was long and hard, but the Techies knew that it was this or death. When the power came back, they were ready. Yes, they were tired and getting weaker by the day, but they used their full powers to control the tech. They just about managed to control the powerful drones to chase away the evil Zappz, and they made the unimportant tech like basic lights explode and harm the Zappz. The other tech was made to power up to full energy and zap the Zappz! It was all going to plan until ten of the Zappz recovered enough to zap the power again, and suddenly the Techies were in danger again! The Techies knew it was pointless hiding: they had to save the city now or they wouldn't survive. Just then, a friend ran in. It was a pixie! Yes, Sparkle had come back the instant the tech was back, and apologised for getting lost. From that moment on, the city was saved. The pixie helped to control the tech, and with an effort managed to tire the Zappz enough to stop them from zapping the power. Thanks to Sparkle, who had been brave enough to come back, the city had a strong chance of survival. The fight wasn't over yet though, the Zappz still wouldn't give in. So Sparkle had an idea. “Wait here, I'm fetching my friends. With the help of us pixies, there's no way we'll fail!” So Sparkle hurried off, and the Techies had to manage by themselves for a while. They were holding on, but failing to make progress in getting rid of the Zappz. When Sparkle came back, he was with about one hundred pixies, all ready to help save the city. They all helped the Techies, and eventually prevailed. The Zappz were all gone. The city was finally saved. Everyone was very happy and crazily celebrating.
(Final Part: High Fantasy)
Clover and Shimmer were elves. They grew up in a safe, sheltered home, until the dwarves moved into their precious forest too. The forest was more special than most. It was Plummery Forest, home to many creatures, especially elves. Clover left the forest as soon as she knew about the dwarves, as she was more cautious and careful around strangers, and she moved far, far away to a new home, one where she was actually in far more danger. What danger? There was a secret plot being discussed. Shimmer, however, stayed, not knowing about the plot. She was bold and brave; she didn't care if there were dwarves around! At first, Shimmer was careful and kept her distance, until one day. That day changed her life. She met a dwarf named Nathan, who became her best friend. Nathan and Shimmer agreed that Clover shouldn't have left, so they made a plan to find her and get her to return to her first home. It wouldn't be easy though. Meanwhile the other dwarves were starting to make friends with Shimmer, and she actually quite liked their company, though it made her want to fetch Clover back even more: she knew that they would be good friends. So Nathan and Shimmer walked out of the forest one warm day to find Clover. Barely twenty miles away from the forest though, was their first fight, and late at night. Dwarves, but unfriendly ones, who thought that Nathan and Shimmer were coming to start a war. So they were plunged into battle, knowing that their lives were at stake. Luckily, Shimmer was light on her feet and dodged the two dwarves, whilst Nathan held them off with his sword. Fortunately, he managed to fend off the dwarves without killing them, and ran on to join Shimmer. She was annoyed with herself though, as in her panic she'd forgotten that she could've fought them herself with magic. “Never mind!” Said Nathan. They soon set up a basic camp, with Shimmer lighting a campfire and Nathan making a small shelter out of sticks. The next morning they woke up early, and walked for hours on end. When they came to a small river, they saw a fairy, who they waved to and exchanged greetings with. She mentioned that there were a few humans around that were friendly to her, but that it was better to be cautious, just in case. Nathan wanted to stop for a rest, but Shimmer was adamant that they should continue, so they did. They came to a hill with lots of grass and weeds, and ran to the top. There, at the top of the hill, was a hole. Nathan, having no caution whatsoever, jumped straight in “WAGHH!” He screamed as he fell. “Dwarves. Huh!” Said Shimmer. She used magic to slowly levitate down, and she came to the bottom more carefully than Nathan. Miraculously, he was alive, just shaken. But they had no time to argue, for sat down in the corner of the dark hole was Clover, and fast asleep guarding her was a very fierce-looking dragon. Oh dear. Nathan and Shimmer conversed in whispers. Eventually they agreed on a plan. Shimmer would dart over, grab Clover, and run. If she woke the dragon, Nathan would help her. (If he could, that is!) Unfortunately, Clover was confused and didn't know who Nathan was, so she screamed! Of course, that meant the dragon woke up. Nathan ran and hid in the shadows, leaving Shimmer and Clover to their fate. “What are you doing, silly elf?” The dragon addressed Clover. “I thought you agreed to stay with me until I could go and scare away those evil giants away for you (if it's possible, which I doubt)?” “I did! This is my friend, Shimmer. I don't know what she's doing here, or why she tried to grab me, but rest assured I'm not leaving!” Shimmer struggled to explain herself. She had got it completely wrong!
The dragon explained everything. Clover had ran away, not because of the dwarves, but because she was told by the dragon (who was her old friend) that an army of evil giants were going to knock down the forest. “Knock down Plummery Forest?!” Exclaimed Shimmer, in horror. The dragon explained further. The giants wanted more land, and they wanted to have lots of open space. They were planning to take over the world! And the reason Clover hadn't told her was because she knew how headstrong Shimmer was, and didn't want her to get badly hurt. “Come on then, Nathan. Come out from the shadows now and greet everyone!” So Nathan the dwarf crept out, looking ashamed of himself for running away. “Umm… Hi?” He said. The dragon didn't look too surprised, but Clover was shocked, and it took a while for everyone to explain their part in the crazy adventure so far. The dragon also said that his name was Mangono. After catching up with everything, Mangono said, “Come on! Let's go, we need to stop those giants before they destroy Plummery Forest!” So Clover, Shimmer, Nathan and Mangono got out of the hole, Clover and Shimmer using magic to levitate up, and Nathan being carried up on Mangono's back. When they were safely out of the hole, Mangono gave everyone a smooth lift down the hill and quickly carried them to where the evil giants were last seen. Luckily, they were incredibly lazy like most giants and hadn't even moved an inch, so the brave adventurers had time to make a rough plan. Nathan and Clover would go back to Plummery Forest, and warn the elves that were left there, and the dwarves, about the giants, and help them to escape if needed. They would then plan what they would do in an emergency, to help everyone survive. Meanwhile, Shimmer and Mangono would attract the giants' attention, and from high in the sky where they couldn't be reached by the giants, Shimmer would use magic to hurt them, not kill them, but hurt them enough to make them stop their evil plan and leave for good. In Plummery Forest, they were already planning how to help, and Clover made some of the younger elves and dwarves evacuate, just to be careful. Shimmer and Mangono must succeed, or Plummery Forest would fall, and very quickly. Mangono breathed flames at them, which made half of the giants run away! Already there was hope. Then it was Shimmer's big moment. She shot magic at the remaining giants: they fled. They yelled as they went, “Fine! We won't take over ANYTHING, let alone the world! Have your dingy little forest then!” Mangono and Shimmer returned to Plummery Forest, and celebrated with the rest. The forest, and the world, were saved.

Towards Cabin war. Words 112.
Jess the cat was walking through the house. Suddenly she stopped in her tracks. She could smell plastic! So she crept into the room sneakily, crouched under the desk, began chewing the folder that had the delicious plastic pockets… And was told off by her owner, and forced to move away from the plastic! She didn't mind though, as she could also smell the plastic wrapper of (unused) tissues! She walked over to them and chewed for a few minutes, until she was told off again. So she decided to give up, for now, and have cuddles with her other owner for a few hours, where she could be comfortable and warm.

More cabin war words. Word count 108
Rose was a flower fairy, but her home was in danger. Due to humans polluting the world and littering in the woods and fields, the natural world was slowly dying. She and some other flower fairies did their best, but they couldn't save the world on their own. So one day, Rose approached a human and asked her if she would help stop littering. She agreed, saying that she doesn't litter, and that she hates it. Slowly, the human named Sarah encouraged and convinced more and more people to take care of nature, not harm it. The world now is far from saved, but there is still hope.

Another short story for Cabin Wars. Words 187.
Wow, so many books! I was clearly in some kind of bookstore, how would I get out? Come on, there's got to be a way out! But… maybe there's time for a browse first? I can't waste all these books, can I? Okay, okay. Don't criticise me. Yes, I spent ten hours reading. I don't care! Those books were AMAZING! But now I need to go home, and fast. Oh wait, I can ask that person over there! Hey, you! Where's the exit? She slowly turned round. “Everyone who comes here must write a book so good that it pleases ME! Then, and only then, I will let you leave.” Oh. That's me doomed then, I definitely can't write as well as the authors of these books! I'll have to try though… Ugh, I've spent four hours writing and it STILL isn't good enough. I'll write one more book and then I'm giving up. It won't be so bad staying here forever, at least there's no shortage of books! Wait what?! She accepted it? Wow. That's impossible! Right, I'm leaving before she can change her mind. Bye!

First of all, I'd like to mention that Chocolate_Camps, Chocolate, you have been a great host this session of Writing Universe Camp, my first ever session! You've made Writing Universe Camp chaotic and fun, with some great dailies and weeklies. It's been great having you as a host, and congratulations on five years! Onwards to the next one, but before that, I hope you have some more great ideas for the rest of the session. Cabin wars were also fun, although I only participated in the second set, and I thought they were very fun, and a lot of credit for that must go to you!
Another person who has made an impact on me this awesome Writing Universe Camp session has been the leader of my great cabin, Illu-Fi. Lily, (Lilyjen) you've been a wonderful leader, very prompt at adding words and panels! You also were a great help during Paranormal's war during Cabin Wars 2, and probably during the first Cabin Wars too! Also, the first storyline task for Illu-Fi was super fun, and perfect for me, as I love writing picture books! Keep doing just what you're doing, and Illu-Fi will continue to be absolutely amazing! You're a very good leader.
I'd also like to thank Aves (its_Aves), because she has been a great Writing Universe Camper this session, and has been very fun to participate with. Aves, doing the roleplay with you was super fun, and I got to know you a bit better too, and you seem like a cool person. I've also read some of your writing, and it's awesome! You've been great during Writing Universe Camp, and hopefully you've enjoyed it so far too, even if both of us were backups! I also can't believe the coincidences, like how we are both backups sorted into Illu-Fi! Even for March Scratch Writing Camp, we were both backups who ended up participating, though not in the same cabin.
Some thanks must also go to Cyr0-St4t, for participating in most dailies for Illu-Fi. It was also fun to swap dailies on my first day of Writing Universe Camp, though I feel like my daily I gave you was quite hard, sorry, Cyro! You have been a good Writing Universe Camper though, and thanks for giving me a daily on that first day, when no one else was online!
I'll also briefly thank Grant (@GrantTheSuperhero), as he participated in a word war with me recently. Grant, I don't know you very well, but you seem nice, and congrats on winning that word war, even only by two words!
Hopefully you've enjoyed Writing Universe Camp so far!

Word war with @Skatercat17 Total 285 words in 7 minutes. No prompt.
I love animals, especially cats and flamingos. My cat Jess is very sweet, and I like flamingos because they are really cool and pretty. I like the pink ones, but red ones are cool too, ans they have long legs, unlike me. They also have feathers and beaks, and are good at catching shrimp. Cats, on the other hand, are soft and snuggly. I love my cat, and she loves me too. I like the username Fabulous-Flamingo, it's a cool name. I really enjoy reading too, and I have many books about all sorts of things, including cats. I love to write about flamingos too, although they are just picture books for children. I don't write books about cats, but sometimes I write about my cat, Jess. Jess is quite old now, fifteen years old! Although, she is fit and healthy, so she'll probably live for at least a few more years, thankfully. I love her a lot. My other favourite animals are hedgehogs, which are endangered. I've seen them a few times in my garden, and they are wonderful animals, though very quiet and shy. So flamingos, cats and hedgehogs are three of my favourite animals, and they are all amazing. I write about flamingos, have a cat and have seen hedgehogs. I like animals a lot, and not only those three, but those are my favourites of all. I really enjoy reading about all three of those animals too, as some authors are really talented and awesome at writing about animals. Some authors are great at writing about humans though! Writing is super fun, and a hobby I love. I also love to read and draw, but I'll talk about that another time.
Weekly #4:
Weekly:
It’s time for our fourth weekly! Head on over here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/815494/?page=3#post-9125800 to learn more about Genres and Subgenres! To earn 4000 points, you must provide proof of both your completed weekly link and a word count of how much you wrote by April 30th at 11:59 PM UTC in the main cabin. Have fun and we can’t wait to see what you create!
Portal fantasy:
in portal fantasy, the main character usually accidentally goes through something (like, well, a portal) to get to a magical place where they usually have to adjust to it, but then they find someone and make friends with them, but in the end, they usually have to go back home and say bye to their friends. they usually get lost without their friends and family.
For example:
Amphibia
Amphibia is about Anne, a teenaged girl who gets transported to The world “amphibia.” amphibia has Newts, Toads, and frogs that can talk. she gets transported there by a treasure box her friend got her for her birthday. she makes friends with the planters, a family of frogs that she moves in with. as she explores the world of amphibia, she reunites with her friends back home. it takes some time for anne to adjust to this strange world, but she gets used to what it’s like living in a town with frogs and teaches them about the human world. in the end, she comes back home. there is a villain in the show, who starts off sweet, but basically it turns out he’s evil. he is the former friend of marcy, one of anne’s friends back home.
High fantasy:
High fantasy is fantasy set in a town that is nothing like our world, like a world with Elves, Witches, Dragons, Etc.
For example, the dragon prince is a show about Callum and ezran. there are elves that are enemies with humans, and are thought to be a danger. they meet Rayla, who is an elf that becomes one of the main characters. She swore on a magic elven wristband that she would kill prince ezran, only to find out that he’s a child and make friends with him. but if she does not do what she said, it will only just keep getting tighter and tighter, until her hand will fall off. in the end, when the dragon egg, which is thought to have been dying, hatches and manages to get rayla’s Magic wristband off. With dark magic, you squish Creatures (mainly bugs) to make spells, wether or not you are a mage. it has dragons, Mages, elves, etc. like in Dungeons and dragons (and also most high fantasy in general), it has characters that have weapons and go on adventures. there is even an illusionist that they meet in the show, who is thought to be a healer.
Urban fantasy:
Urban fantasy is like our world, but with some magic, or like everyday life but in a magical world. for example:
Upside down magic
upside down magic is about a world with six (is it six? five? seven? whatever) categories of magic that everyone in the world of that book fits into. except for some people (like the main characters that are in this book) have “Upside down” magic. these people do not fit into the categories. usually, a version of those. some have fire magic. Elliot, one of the main characters, has upside down fire magic (i forgot what it’s called when you have fire magic.) instead of fire magic, he freezes things. some people don’t fit into the Basic categories Or have upside down magic, some have their own unique magic. One of the Main characters, marigold, has shrinking magic. They go to a school with a class for people with upside down magic. Nory, the main character, is an upside down fluxer, who can turn into differment animals. Most fluxers can only turn into one animal, but nory can turn into multiple different animals, and can even shapeshift into animal combinations, like a Dog combined with a platypus or a Fox combined with a fish. she usually tries to do a cat, and ends up as a cat dragon.
part 2:
Urban fantasy:
Hi, my name is Mary. i am 12 years old and 14 minutes old! today is my birthday, june 6. i live in the world of Patellia, ruled by elves. i have 2 older brothers, Peter and Miles. Peter is 15 and Miles is 18 years old. i go to Hollywood middle school, which teaches magic music and Enchanted Acting. Oh! it is time for me to open my presents. “COME HERE!!!” said Her mom. “okay. i am coming, mom.” said Mary. “Yay. it is a microphone” said mary very blandly. “Shut up!” her brothers yelled at each other. “oh no. they are fighting.” said Mary. “i will stop them.” said mary. “you should stop fighting” mary told her brothers. they were casting spells on each other. “stop fighting, miles and peter. mary is right” said her mom. they all talked very blandly. “i am not going to stop fighting.” said Peter. “Neither will i” said Miles. “Let’s open presents already.” said her mom. “okay.” said mary to her mom. “oh. yay. this is nice.” said Mary. She kept saying stuff like “This is good”, “wow”, “i love this”, etc. she went to school then. “Happy birthday!” said jessica. “happy birthday” Monica told her. Everyone said happy birthday to her. “Here you go, Mary.” said katie. “thank you.” said Mary. “You are welcome, mary.” said katie. she opened the card that katie had gave her. it said:
Happy birthday from:
Hello - Monica
You are very nice - Hannah
Thank you for reading to the kindergarteners! - Ms B.
And the list went on and on. “Thank you for this card again, Katie.” MAry thanked katie for the card. “You are very, very welcome.” said Katie. Now it is time for PE! she walked to Potions class. “Welcome, students.” said The teacher, Mrs. Bennet Taylor. “let’s start off by saying happy birthday to Mary. it is her 12th birthday today.” said the teacher. “Thank you.” said mary. “Now, let’s make a party potion!” said the teacher. Mary followed the instructions on her Paper:
pour three cups of Daisy milk into the cauldron
add 5 sunflower seeds to the cauldron
Pour 1 cup of party pixie dust into the cauldron
add 1 piece of chocolate cake
mix until Pink
Wish Mary a happy birthday and birthday wishes
Mary mixed it until it was pink, like the instructions said. “Mrs. Bennet taylor? what are we supposed to do now? i have finished making the potion now.” mary asked mrs. bennet taylor. “oh! done already? well, now, you get assigned a partner.” said Mrs. bennet taylor. “i timed you each, and you and Hazel finished only 0.8 seconds apart, so i think she’ll be your perfect partner!” said Mrs. Bennet taylor. “oh, and here are your results on last week’s Ingredients test!” Mrs. Bennet taylor handed people paper after paper, then, finally, Mary’s. she looked at it scared, and she got a 100! “Psst! how’d you do?” Hazel asked her. “I got a 100!” said Mary. “Nice! i got a 99.” said Hazel.
THE END
High fantasy:
Hi, i am named Rosa. i love to read. i live in the very magical world of Ramisia. i have a younger sister, Lola, and an older sister, Cathleine. yes, that’s how she spells her name. i’m ten years old, and my sisters are 13 and 6. today, i am going to go on a quest. finally, a day away from my sisters! “bye, mom! bye, Dad! bye, Lola! Bye, Cathleine!” i said. i started off adventuring, with the least idea possible of what i was doing! i ran into my first danger a few hours later: A dragon!! i am pretty sure that it is a snowy dragon. i grab my torch and touch it with it. i did it. i adventured some more. and more and more and more and then… OH NO!! A TRAP!! i stepped on a trap, and several angry pixies came out. “Hey!! get out of here, guys!!” i say. they do not leave me alone, though. i grab out feather pixie dust, which pixies hate. they immediately leave me alone. Good job, me! i adventure on, happily skipping. i hit my foot on a rock. but it isn’t just any rock. it’s an emerald. just like the one i’ve been looking for! i reach down in awe and excitement. “NOT SO FAST.” Says a voice that came out of absolutely nowhere for some reason. “Huh?” “You must answer my riddle first.” says the voice. “UGH.” i say. “What is black and white and red all over?” it asks. “Wait, but is that even a-” i say. “Do you want it or not?” it says. “Ugh, fine. a newspaper.” i say. “Correct. you can take it now.” it says. “Finally.” i say. i start adventuring back home, but then i remember: i’m not just keeping it! this is like, a hero thing! but… it’s so pretty… i really want to keep it… Oh, well, too bad, world, sorry you’re gonna crumble or something, but the thing that’s like, keeping you alive is just too pretty not to keep. bye, world! but then… i hear another voice. “GIVE US THE EMERALD!” says a man. they snatch it out of my hands. “HEY!!” i yell. i snatch it back. he casts spells on me. i counter them each with my counter spell, along with some experimental spells of my own i made up based on what i know. like “Ladopa” and “Parilo.” they come from the spells “Ladis,” “Salopa” and “Parthal” and “Mosilo.” the “Lad” in Ladis gives a spell Strength, and in “Salopa,” the opa is for Healing. so Ladopa is for powerful healing. and the Par in “Parthal” is for A good start, and the ilo in “Mosilo” is for A curse. I win the battle, and get the emerald. when i get back home, i say hi to my family who i admit, i did miss. “LOLA!! CATHLEINE!!!” i scream. i immediately give them hugs. “so… where’s the emerald thing?” cathleine asks. “Yeah, what did you do with that?” Lola asks. “oh, it was too pretty to not keep, so i have it right here in my backpack.” i say. “oh, okay!” my sisters say. i never lose sight of anyone in my family.
The end
Portal fantasy:
14 year old Lynn was on her grandma’s porch. when a portal appeared. she got sucked into the portal. she was in a forest. the trees were beige with gold. the leaves were a dark blue.
“Woah, where is this?” Lynn wondered. she looked around.
“ah!” she bumped into someone.
“sorry…” she said. but when she looked up, they didn’t look at all like she thought they would look like. they were wearing a black cloak with a dark purple velvet dress with a gold ribbon around the waist of the dress, with boots up to her knees and… A WITCH HAT!! really? someone who understood her? she never thought that the day would come!!
“Woah. you like fantasy?” Lynn asked her.
“what?” she asked.
“Fan-tu-see. you’re wearing a witch hat! clearly, you love it.” Lynn said.
“i- i am a witch.” she said.
“WHAT?!?!?! WHERE DO YOU LIVE?!? WHAT SPELLS DO YOU KNOW??? WHAT’S YOUR WORLD LIKE?!?!” Lynn yells. she’s so excited. she’s loved fantasy since she was 4!! the girl squeaked.
“i- i live right there…” she said.
“ooh! do you have any siblings?” lynn asked.
“y-yeah… a-an older b-b-brother… i’m f-fourteen… m-my brother is s-seventeen…” she said. “really? i’m 14, too! i don’t have any siblings, but i’ve always wanted a little sister! i hope my mom and dad will get me one for my birthday. although, i don’t know where my mom and dad are. i don’t know where my non-existent little sister is right now, either. what’s it like having a brother???” Lynn said.
“i-it’s like…” she starts saying.
“it’s pretty cool. you team up for stuff sometimes and he sometimes plays magical sports and stuff like that.” said the girl. “i-i’ve always wanted someone to talk to.” she said. “Yayy!! my name’s lynn.” “i-i’m Luna. do you want to come to my house? you can be my sister.” said The girl “YES!!!” said Lynn. “th-thanks for letting lynn stay.” said Luna to her parents at dinner. “of course! she needs a home.” said her mama. “Hey, Luna?” Lynn asked. “what’s it like having two moms?” “oh! they’re not both moms, they’re Mama and Mom. so i have one mom, and one mama.” she explained. “oh, okay, sorry.” said lynn. when they were done, they went to luna’s room. “here, you can share a room with me.” Luna said. “Oh! thanks!” Lynn said. “Of course! oh, and i’ll teach you magic! i would wait until tomorrow, but i’m just too excited.” she said. she taught her magic, and without realizing it, she was teaching her for 4 hours. “and finally, here’s your homework.” she said. “write a 5 page essay on spells we learned today.” she said. “Yay!!!” she said. a few months later, they had figured out the entire get back to home thing, and they had to say goodbye. “bye.” they said. they hugged and hugged and hugged and almost never stopped. “BYE EVERYBODY!!” and she got back home. they cried. but, who knows? maybe someday, they will meet again…
Part 3:
Anastasia and Gabriela were reading ancient spellbooks. they wanted to know about what magic was like in ancient times, and wanted to grow their knowledge. but, Then, Anastasia’s Hory, Pixie, whinnied. you may be wondering, what is a Hory? well, it is like a horse, but also a fairy.
“what is it, Pixie?” Anastasia asked. Pixie whinnied more.
“What does she say?” Gabriela asked.
“she says that we need to do something. something important.” Anastasia answered.
“What is it?” Asked Gabriela.
“I am not sure. i will ask her.” said anastasia.
“so, what is it?” Gabriela Asked anastasia.
“She says someone did something bad.” said Anastasia to gabriela.
“Really? what?” Gabriela was shocked.
“She says someone stole the Crystal crystal of crystals.” said Anastasia. they both thought that the crystal crystal of crystals was a very stupid name.
“GASP! i LOVE that crystal crystal of crystals!! it’s so pretty and… crystaly!” Gabriela said.
“Yes, yes. but we’re going there to solve the mystery, not to stare in awe.” said Anastasia.
“Oh, yes, you’re right. let’s get going!” said Gabriela. she started walking out the door, but Anastasia grabbed her.
“Hey, wait! we need to get packing first!” said Anastasia.
“ah, well, you can do that. you can catch up to me.” said Gabriela.
“Ugh, fine. but don’t blame me if you get yourself killed.” said Anastasia.
“Well, technically you couldn’t blame me if you got yourself killed since like, you’re not alive if you’re dead, you’re like, killed.” said Anastasia.
“yeah, yeah, i got it.” said Gabriela. Anastasia made a packing list:
all the books on my bookshelf
my complete detective kit: 3rd edition
My Collecters pack edition of “Sophia spots it” (note to self: get the one with the extended series with the extra 5 books and the complete pack of deleted scenes with stickers in it!)
Pixie
spellbooks
My wand
The ultimate guide to magical creatures and what to do with them in every scenario
100,000 different potions you should try on your quest
my cauldron and potion stuff
everything else i might need on my quest
P.S: my cat!!
“done.” said Anastasia. she headed out the door and ran to catch up with Gabriela.
“i’m thinking maybe it’s Flora Brookes from sofia spots it. she’s always stealing valuables. but we still need clues to prove it’s her.” said Anastasia. they found their first clue: a pearl necklace. the two girls decided to investigate more. then, their next clue: a book with a note inside of it. “let’s see what it says.” said anastasia.
it said:
“note to self- XXXX remember to bring with the ccc to your Friend’s house.”
“what’s the ccc?” asked gabriela.
“Crystal crystal of crystals.” said Anastasia.
“Oh, okay.” said gabriela.
“okay, who’s someone that lives near here that’s rich and likes books… Aha! Ms. Victory!” Anastasia said.
“oh, yeah! let’s go confront her!” said Gabriela.
At the scene:
“no, i did not steal this. this does not even look like my handwriting.” said Ms. victory.
“Oh, yeah.” said Gabriela.
“But maybe she disguised the handwriting like Josh Mckoke did in book 4!” said Anastasia.
“Oh, no! see? this note says that it was 3:23 when this note was being written! and i can show you what i was doing then on my private security cameras. Butler!” Ms. victory said.
“See? my butler was reading me a story.” she said.
“Well, that puts ms. victor off the hook. bye!” said anastasia.
“Who are some other people like that?” asked gabriela.
“i don’t know. Ow!” said Anastasia. she hit her foot on something. but it wasn’t just a rock. it was a jewel.
“GASP! THE CRYSTAL CRYSTAL OF CRYSTALS!!” Gabriela yelled.
“yes… wait, no.” said Anastasia.
“What do you mean no?” asked Gabriela.
“it’s a fake.” said Anastasia.
“GASP! how do you know?!” gabriela asked in shock.
“the real crystal crystal of crystals is a white and blue color, not a Blue and green color.” said anastasia.
“well, who’s good at fakes?” said Gabriela.
“MELISSA MCKOY!!” the girls both said at the same time.
at the scene of the crime:
“What? why would i do that?” said Melissa Mckoy.
“You’re rich, you have fakes on your shelf INCLUDING this crystal, the handwriting matches, AND you have this exact signed copy of this enchanted book.” said Anastasia.
“Hey anastasia? i thought we just agreed that she was good at fake stuff?” Gabriela whispered.
“yes, but the rest is true, too.” Anastasia whispered back.
“i still don’t understand-” Melissa Mckoy started saying. anastasia casted the not speaking curse so she couldn’t talk.
What you must have done was possibly pack if you know good enough, hike the mountain, and take the crystal, blah blah blah and stuff like that.” said anastasia. they reported the crime, and she was locked up in magical jail with magical ropes, and they returned the crystal.
“wow, anastasia, you’re good at mysteries!” said Gabriela.
“Thank you! i read a TON of mystery novels. mostly Sofia Spots it.” Anastasia answered. after that, they went back to their home and read more ancient spellbooks.
“Hey, this quest required a lot less magic stuff than i expected it to.” said Anastasia.
“yeah.” said gabriela.
“I Probably shouldn’t have packed all those books. and magical books.” said Anastasia.
“Yeah.” said Gabriela.
THE END
Part 4:
I am getting dressed in my very, very, very fancy dress with pink bows and jewels. i am going on a date with Harry, who is so beautiful that he is thought to be born to a royal family, like me. my name is Gabby. i am 16 years old, and i have 1 older sister and 1 older brother, Teresa and Edison. Teresa, my older sister, is practically 18, and edison, my older brother, is 23, and will take the throne when My father, the king, dies. i walk out the door. my date is there. i hold his hand, and he takes me to the gate of the restaurant. but this is a very strange restaurant. it has graves in it that look almost real, and the restaurant must be miles away from these decorations. it is not halloween yet, it is only July.
“Where is this?” i ask.
“What do you mean?” Harry seems confused.
“I thought that we agreed to get a meal.” i tell him.
“and we will.” he says. i look at him for a minute, confused about what this is. maybe it is all a surprise? i guess i should ask him.
“Where’s the food?” i ask.
“You have it.” He says.
“Huh?” i am confused.
“there must be a mistake. i thought you meant dinner at a restaurant. not a graveyard.” i say.
“but you have food.” he says.
“I didn’t bring any.” i say.
“Yes you did.” he says.
“No, i did not.” i answer.
“Yes, you do. i can show you if you lean in.” he says.
“Okay…” i lean in like he tells me. i feel something sharp. very sharp. it’s in my head.
“Ow! what is that?”
“It’s me.” Harry answers. i am shocked.
“What?”
“i have a truth to tell.” he says. but when he opens his mouth, i understand. he’s a vampire. he has fangs! and, oh, his face…
“How old are you?!?!” i scream.
“350 years.” he says.
“WHAT?!?!” i shriek. i run away from him as fast as i can, but i see him following me. i run for my life. i slam my head into my Palace. i run in as fast as i can, and before telling hank, the butler to do it, i close and lock every door and window in the palace. then, i treat my bite. i run to the library in disguise to look up information about vampires. the book says that to treat vampire bites, you need to make a potion. all you need is garlic, willow, milk, vampire pixie dust, and… some of the vampire’s blood. the next day, i go on a date with Harry. well, if you call looking at graves of people he ate a date, then yes, it was a date. we had so much fun that i practically forgot that he’s a vampire. but i could see the fresh graves… and i ask him about every one of them. about half of those graves were of people he ate. but i also found some willow for the potion. i went home.
“soo, how was your daaate?” teresa asks me.
“oh, fine.” i answer.
“Did you Kiiss?” she asks me.
“NO.” i answer. i’m scared of what might happen if he does kiss me. would i turn into a vampire? would i die? would i resist?
The next morning, i make a list of everything i need to make for the potion:
Willow
Milk
Garlic
Vampire pixie dust
Harry’s blood
I already got the willow from one of the graves, and i have milk in the kitchen. we don’t have any garlic, but the butler is getting that from our private grocery store, so i just need to find a way to get vampire pixie dust… and Some of harry’s blood. i go to the pixie gardens the next morning. i run to the vampire section. i run several laps through it, until i find it: Vampire pixie dust. now i just need a way to take it without getting caught. i look to make sure no one else is there. then, i carefully take the lid off and scoop it into my jar and put the jar’s lid on. then i put the pixie dust’s lid back on. i go back to my palace. i check off garlic and the vampire pixie dust. now, i just need Harry’s blood. i go on a date with harry this night and get the blood. i check it off and now, i’m ready to make the potion. i follow the instructions: “mix after every ingredient is added.” eventually, i finish, and i am finally ready to drink the potion. i check the book to make sure i read everything and did it right. i retrace my steps, and i did it all right. but it says to drink as far away from vampires as possible. i check all around the palace and outside the palace. no vampires. i go to the top of the palace, just to make sure. i drink the potion, very slowly, as the book says. when i am done, i feel normal again. i am still shaking a bit, but i know that now, at least For now, i am fine. on my next date with harry, i want to tell him i cannot go out with him anymore, but i am too scared. so, the next time i go out with him, i set a trap. i set out a vampire’s biggest weakness: golden pixie dust. vampires cannot see very well, so they think it is just gold. so they usually try to get it, but then, they disintegrate.
“hello, harry.” i say to him.
“hello, dear.” he says.
“i have something for you.” i say.
“for me? thank you.” he says.
“of course.” i say.
“Where is it?” he asks me.
“it’s over there.” I tell him. i point to the Pixie dust. he runs over to it.
“Thank you.” he says.
“you’re so welcome.” i giggle.
“gold?” he says.
“Yep.” i tell him. and, as i planned, he disintegrates. i go home. i flop into my bed, and fall asleep in about 5 minutes. i cry a bit about harry being a vampire, but i very quickly get over it. then, i fall asleep. the only thing i’m worried about now is if he will ever rise again. in the distant or not so distant future. anyways, it’s time to go to bed now. goodnight…

“Yep.” i tell him. and, as i planned, he disintegrates. i go home. i flop into my bed, and fall asleep in about 5 minutes. i cry a bit about harry being a vampire, but i very quickly get over it. then, i fall asleep. the only thing i’m worried about now is if he will ever rise again. in the distant or not so distant future. anyways, it’s time to go to bed now. goodnight…

writing universe camp megathread <3
WUC thank-you's: Word Count 533. This has been my first session of Writing Universe Camp, and it's been awesome, especially thanks to everyone else involved. That includes:
@Lilyjen - Thanks so much for leading Illu-Fi this session! You have been a great leader, even managing to keep up with the 8,500 and counting words that I added, and all the panels I forgot to add! It's been nice to meet you, and I hope you've had a good session too. You've made this session brilliant, so thank you so much <3. See you soon, hopefully!
@chocolate_camps - I know I've already thanked you in the other daily, but I'd like to thank you again
You've really been a great host, I can't believe this is your fifth session! Your chocolate chaos was really fun, and you came up with some great Scratch Writing Camp clues to your application too!
Hopefully you get to lead a cabin for SWC, I think you'd be great! Paranormal stands a good chance at winning, although I'm still hoping Illu-Fi has a chance. You also seem like a nice person, so hopefully I can get to know you better through the next sessions of SWC and WUC
Happy writing, and see you soon!
@its_aves - Another one I thanked previously, but I'll go more in-depth here
It's been great fun to get to know you this session, and it was really good doing that daily with the roleplay with you too! You're also a very good writer, and you've contributed a lot to Illu-Fi this session. You were also in Scratch Writing Camp, but I don't think we talked during that session. I'm looking forward to doing Scratch Art Camp in your cabin (Happy Happy Humanoids), and congratulations on co-leader! I'm sure you'll do great <3. See you soon!
All of Illu-Fi - I haven't met all of you, but it's been great to write with you, and thanks for being in the best cabin! I hope you've all had fun writing, and I hope to get to know all of you better soon. Illu-Fi stands a chance at winning, we can do this! To those I already know, thanks for getting to know me this session. I also did some word wars with some of you I think, and that was very fun too. You've all been brilliant, well done this month!
@OctopusGhost - I don't really know you very well, but the word war about onions was fun! (Albeit, mine was very weird…) and well done on winning, even by only two words! Magreal seemed quite fun this session, although it's the NCCTWNW
Magreal - You all seemed cool, and I hope you all had a lot of fun this session like I did. Have fun writing, and I hope to get to know some of you better in the future.
Paranormal - Again, I don't know many of you, but it's an epic cabin, and it'll be close between you and Illu-Fi for who wins! Congratulations if you do win, it's well deserved. Hopefully you all enjoyed this session, and had fun writing, and I'll get to know you better soon, I hope
And thank you to all the hosts and everyone who participated. You're all amazing

writing universe camp megathread <3
WUC Writing Megathread October 2026 Session
Welcome to the official WUC writing thread! This thread is for any WUC'ers to share writing so we don't all have to make our own writing threads!
Please read through the first post of this thread whether or not you have read it before - rules have been made this session as we work on improving WUC! Yes it's long, but all of this information is important for you to know, because we share the forums with the rest of Scratch! If you have any questions afterwards, please ask me (@chocolate_camps) or another host on our profiles - that way it's easier for you to get a response without clogging up this thread <3
What you can put here:
Any writing you do during WUC (whether daily, weekly, word war, song story, poetry slam entry or just your own writing) can go in this thread! You can either make a new post per piece of writing, or make one post and edit your new writing into it - either is fine!
Please try not to have conversations or chat here - you can post writing, give critique and discuss others' writing but if off topic conversations happen here, it's likely the topic will be deleted or closed by the Scratch Team. We'd like to avoid that. <3
Remember to check any writing you post to make sure it does not contain any personal details or private information. If it does, you can either edit out/change the details or not post the writing! Stay safe online please ^^
Ways to use this forum:
There are two main ways to use this forum - but other ways are okay too!
1. Making one post and editing your new writing into it. If you use this method, please edit new writing into the top of your post, so it's easier for leaders to find!
2. Making a new post for every writing piece (you could also include an optional “table of contents” post which contains a list of writing pieces and links to them!)
Reporting posts
Please don't hesitate to report other posts if you feel you need to! Valid reasons to report posts include:
- The post shares private information
- The post contains rude/offensive language
- The post is spam or off topic
- The post does not belong in this topic
- The post otherwise breaks Scratch's guidelines or makes you uncomfortable
When you click report, you will be provided with a comment box to explain why you reported the post - and please do so! It helps the forum moderators understand what you want them to do and the Scratch Team will hopefully look through it <3
On the Scratch forums, there are lots of reasons you can report things other than that they're inappropriate. Reporting is not trying to get the user in trouble, picking on the user, or going behind their back - it's simply helping to keep the forums organized, tidy and Scratch safe. You won't get in trouble for reporting a post that doesn't need reporting, as there are no rules as to what does and doesn't need reporting. So it's fine to report posts that don't belong in this thread, are off topic, or are spam as well as inappropriate posts.
Discussing people's writing
It's completely okay to respond to and comment on people's writing here. However:
People won't necessarily see your responses to their writing, because they don't get a notification when you quote their writing. Instead, you can comment on their profile, either commenting on their writing there or saying something like “hey! I responded to your writing piece here: <link>” Also, make sure you follow the forum so that you can save it in your scratch messages!
It's also fine to give critique to others' writing here, but make sure to give the person the link to your critique!
Also, please keep in mind that not everyone here will want critique on their writing! Make sure to ask permission before giving anyone critique.
To get the link to a post, right click the top left corner of the post, where it says the date and time it was posted. Then click “copy link address”, and paste the link wherever you need it.
Personal writing threads
Personal writing threads will be allowed this session! However, please only make one forum topic for just your writing - put it in the “Things I'm Making and Creating” forum, and use that topic for the whole of this SWC session. This means not creating a new topic for, say, your writing competition entry, and certainly not creating a new topic for each writing piece, as this is a nightmare for forum moderators and other people using the forums.
It is still highly recommended that you use the megathread in order to be considerate to other forumers! Having a lot of different writing topics makes it harder to find other topics, so please consider carefully whether you'd be willing to use the megathread before creating a personal topic
Other Ways to Share Writing
Not everyone wants to share their writing in the forums, and that's fine - here are some other places it's okay to share your writing!
1. You could create a new scratch project (perhaps on an alternate account if you don't want to share writing on your main account!) and share your writing as an in-project comment, in the description and notes and credits, or pasted into a costume using the text tool.
2. You can take a photo or screenshot of your writing and either put it inside a scratch project or upload it to cubeupload, then share that link. You will need an account to use cubeupload, but it's a safe way to share images and the Scratch team allows it.
*Please note that blankslate is not allowed. If you don't know what it is, it's a writing sharing program that we used to use frequently in WUC but is no longer allowed because of its lack of moderation.
Do not attempt to bypass Scratch's filter in order to share writing on sites that are not allowed. Not only are these sites banned for a reason, but you will get caught if you attempt to share links to them on Scratch. Proof shared via other sites will not count. Cubeupload is the exception to this rule, as it is allowed by Scratch in order to share images on the forums ^^
Happy writing and can't wait to see what you all create!! <3

Rules Post
You are not expected to memorize these rules, but this is a resource that you can consult if you are unsure about what to do. If you believe any of these rules shouldn't apply / should apply differently for a specific case (e.g. adding a daily when it says not to), take it to the hosts (not the leader forum please!). A summarized version for campers will be posted later.
TLDR
- Please read the full “Adding Words” section. It’s the most important section here.
- No more than 10,000 words may be added at a time, regardless of when they were written. This includes during cabin wars.
- Descriptions must stay as up to date as any other records leaders are keeping of word counts.
- All words become reserves once camp is over in all timezones.
- It is the leaders’ responsibility to ask for proof if a camper is adding an unrealistic amount of words! Please ask for proof in a timely manner. As a general rule, if they are adding more than 5,000 words a day, you should ask for proof. Read the “Needing Proof” section for more detail or ask a host for help.
- Required proof must be provided on Scratch in order to earn points. There are no exceptions for having writing inappropriate for Scratch. The only exception to this rule is if you have done your writing on paper and are taking photos and uploading them to an image hosting site.
- Activities must be commented in the Main Cabin before they end in UTC, even if the description has not been updated.
- Do not bring anything about suspicious word counts or drama to the leader forum. That includes questions about whether or not a word count is suspicious, what to do once you’ve proceeded with asking for proof, and asking for help handling an argument. That is classified as gossip and we do not want anyone to get in trouble with the Scratch Team. If you need help, you may contact a host privately (on an old project or low down in their profile comments).
Adding words
- All words must be commented by midnight UTC the third day after WUC ends.
- Leaders must have their descriptions updated by the fifth day after WUC ends. You may request an extension, but otherwise we will use the word counts in the description for the final results.
- Descriptions must stay as up to date as any other records leaders are keeping of word counts.
- No more than 10,000 words may be added at once.
- Leaders must reply “added” or something of the like to comments where they have added words.
- Leaders must also comment when they add their own words (as opposed to just updating their word count in the description).
What counts
- Roleplay - As a guideline, the person should be somewhat in character, and there should be description of actions in addition to dialogue.
Fictional writing
- Non-fictional writing
- Literary journal entries
- Writing in another language - if you’re unsure on how many words to add because the language counts writing in a different way (e.g. character counts in Chinese), Google Translate it to English and use that word count.
- Schoolwork - essays, assignments that include literary/analytical writing (such as worksheets requiring analysis of parts of a novel) but not note taking or non-literary writing such as writing out math problems
- Giving critique (but only the words they wrote! If they gave 1000 words of critique but 300 of those were quotes of the original writing, add 700 words)
- Stream of consciousness writing
- Vents/rambles
- Formal emails that are longer than a paragraph
- Explanatory WUC dailies that are longer than a paragraph
- Words from comics
- Parodies (so long as it's mostly the person's original thought)
- As a general rule, if it contains the person’s original ideas, it counts.
What doesn’t count
- Notetaking
- Texting, commenting, etc.
- Copying another person’s writing
- Translating
- Writing thing out from memory / copying things out (e.g. copying out a textbook, lyric spam)
- Coding
Needing proof
- Ask for proof if someone adds an unrealistic amount of words. This is at your discretion for the most part, but if someone is adding 5k+ in a day (even if it’s reasonable amounts), you should ask for at least partial proof. Don't add their words until they've given proof/an outline. If they refuse or don’t give sufficient proof (at your discretion, you may check with the hosts if you wish), don’t add the words.
- Campers need to outline what their writing is about before adding words - do not let them add unexplained words frequently or in large blocks! A sufficient outline could look like: “365 words were from an english worksheet, 1946 were from working on my novel, 568 from the daily”. Outlines based only on the timeframe it was written in are not sufficient.
- If someone is uncomfortable sharing proof, that’s okay. Exceptions can be given on an individual basis, and it is more likely they’ll get one if they cooperate and give partial proof/detailed descriptions on their writing. Additionally, you could share proof in a discreet location (on scratch of course, i.e. an old forum post or in a comment in a project).
- You can nitrotype race someone if they claim they have a WPM that would allow them to write a large amount (other websites are not permitted). However, this isn’t sufficient proof on its own.
- Ask for proof asap rather than waiting until the end of camp. If you don’t feel you’ll be able to deal with the situation, ask one of your cos/your leader or the hosts in a discreet location (not the leader forum.)
- Overall, nothing to do with suspicious counts should go in the forum.
Reserves
- Only up to 10k words can be added at a time, whether or not they give proof or a description of their writing (reserves are still subject to proof rules)
- If someone didn’t have access to scratch, their words don’t count as reserves even if it has been more than a week.
- All words automatically become reserves after camp is over in all timezones.
Activities
- Campers and leaders are expected to give all required proof for dailies and weeklies.
- Activities must be submitted before they end in UTC, even if the description hasn't been updated yet.
- You may not earn points which require proof if the proof is not posted on Scratch.
- However, photos of writing are fine for proof if it’s done on paper. You may upload the photos into a project or an image hosting site approved for scratch.
Dailies
- If people have queries about a daily and no hosts or members of the daily team are online to clarify, use your discretion to come up with a solution.
- Extensions for dailies are unavailable as there really isn’t any point in granting them given the low point value and short timeframe of dailies.
Weeklies
- If a camper (or leader) is uncomfortable sharing proof for a weekly, they should contact the hosts as early as possible. Exceptions to giving proof can be provided on an individual basis and they will have better luck getting one if they let us know early (as opposed to simply refusing to give proof when trying to add their weekly).
- Point adding edge cases (dailies & weeklies)
- Submitted late but proof is complete and last edited before deadline: Yes
- Submitted on time but didn't give proof until after the deadline: Yes, however bonus points for giving proof should not be added.
- Submitted on time but didn’t give word count/cabin/other needed information until after deadline: Yes
- Did a task wrong but fixed it after the deadline: No, although exceptions can be made if they commented over 6 hours before the deadline and weren’t online between the time a leader pointed out their mistake and the deadline. Contact a host if this happens.
- Added words for the task in their cabin but commented in main cabin after deadline: Yes
- Finished the task on time but forgot / didn't know to comment in the main cabin until after the deadline: Make sure the camper knows this should not occur again! Points for the task(s) can be added provided there is proof it was completed on time, but if there is a large number of activities (>3 or so), contact hosts to confirm.
- If you are still in doubt or think a different outcome should occur, talk to the hosts - we will deal with these on an individual basis. Please ask on one of our profiles, not in the leader forum.
Honoraries
An honorary is essentially a person who is not actually participating in an WUC cabin but is there to boost morale, provide support for campers in a cabin, and possibly participate in the storyline of a cabin. Those are the only things they can do — they can't write words toward the cabin total, help with adding words, or anything else that would be classified as a leader or camper responsibility.
Leaders invite other people to be honoraries. People do not invite themselves — though it is completely fine to give some encouragement to other cabins at times.
Arguments and drama
- If disputes between campers occur, contact a host, notify the leaders of other cabins involved, and if you can, try to deescalate the situation. Please don’t bring this to the leader forum as we don’t want to spread drama! Of course, report any offensive material you see as part of such an argument.
- If campers become defensive or accusatory when you’re talking to them (perhaps asking for proof or refusing to add words), do your best to be firm with them and stay calm! Go straight to the hosts in a discreet place as well.
- Periodically campers leak the leader forum link. It’s not a great idea to mass-report their comments to delete them as this can lead to alerts from the ST, but if the comments can be considered spam then feel free to report them. There’s not much we can do about this. It’s not the end of the world if this happens, as most campers will honour our trust system and stay out of the forum.
- If a camper posts in the leader forum, respond and ask them kindly to not follow or stalk the leader forum. If they’re spamming or posting irrelevant things, ignore them and report their posts.
- If a random person posts in the leader forum (e.g. blockspam or something unrelated to WUC), don’t respond! Simply report the post(s) and explain that the post was unrelated/spam/in the wrong place.
- If campers take the competition too far, remind the campers involved that rivalries are pretend and only exist for fun. Ask them to be mindful of the intended playful nature of these rivalries and respectful of other campers and leaders’ feelings. You can also link this tone indicators project if you find it applicable.
Credits and thanks to SWC for this entire rules post because i have to probably ascend soon, i cant do this anymore </3
