No non-keyboard words
One of the easiest ways to bypass scratch moderation are words that are not on the keyboard but have a similar look
(e.g. ട)
This way, people can say bad words on scratch without being banned
What i think is better, is if scratch makes you unable to type words that are not on a keyboard to prevent people from bypassing the scratch moderation.

The automod can detect most of these. If you find one that can be used to bypass the filter, you should probably use Contact Us and report the comment (if there's one already made by someone).

Especially in a children's site, banning these types of letters won't do anything very bad.

So here's the thing, many of these symbols are actually in a keyboard, just not the english one. Just as there are multiple languages, there are multiple keyboards as well since many of the symbols used are actually part of different languages.
Blacklisting non-english keyboard letters is going to decrease accessibility for people who speak other languages since not everyone knows how to speak english.
էĦíꙀ may look like stuff that's not on your keyboard, but the letters are actually part of different languages.

So you mean the difference between ì and i? Yeah that’s used in French, i think, or some other language. So, no.

no support. some people here who like to say random stuff (for example, saying “₂̵̝̬̥͂₆̶͎͇͇̻¹̷͕̝̯̦²̶͔͙̲̥₄̴̨͙̹̝₇̶̱̫͓̤₂⁶̶̦̳̬̉³̸͈̏͊͂⁵̴̰̓₃̶͉̰̞̠₉̴̡̺̬̏₅₈⁷⁸₁⁰”, a thing my friend commonly says) will get muted and they won't know why.
…aaaand don't forget people who speak other languages too.

There are many symbols that are on my keyboard and are similar to certain letters (I didn't check if they bypass the filter though)
For example $ and @

No support.
You're essentially landlocking Scratch so that only people who speak English can use the site.
(Translators could be used but that would be tedious.)

There are many symbols that are on my keyboard and are similar to certain letters (I didn't check if they bypass the filter though)yeah actually it's more common for people to bypass with these rather than things like ട (which i've actually… never even seen before in my life, didn't know that character existed)
For example $ and @
we can't really blacklist all characters that aren't on the keyboard because they all have some sort of purpose, including being used in different writing systems. and of course the more common issue, many symbols and numbers on the average keyboard, are used a LOT in many languages including english and would probably cause a major problem if they were banned
the only solution here might just be to keep reporting any time we come across stuff like this, sorry
i think the filters do manage to catch a good chunk of it though? they can read some context iircLast edited by atomicbryght (Today 02:11:10)

“No non-keyboard words”
bros only on a traditional qwerty keyboard layout
if you mean the ones that only can be obtained on unicode-plane websites
then those might already be blocked in the filter
or just never work on scratch at all

this assumes the latin alphabet is the only one used here. why would a russian need to get muted for speaking in their native language?
just report messages that break the community guidelines, they’re most likely to get removed
