Hire more moderators please.

ok, but do you have some reasons for why you want more moderators?

1. Scratch depends on AI
2. There are not enough
3. Some people can be get away with stuff

what does “scratch depends on ai” mean?

there are not enough for what?

if you see someone getting away with stuff, report them (or their project, studio, etc.)

i agree that hiring new moderators would certainly do the platform some good but unfortunately scratch is a non-profit and therefore it's a lot harder for them to hire new staff also this actually isn't true:

the only automatic moderation scratch uses is the filter (which isn't actually ai) and the automatic unsharing of projects when they are reported by a large amount of people quickly (which also isn't ai and is then reviewed by humans)
everything else relies on actual human moderators afaik

But seriously, the Scratch Team can't randomly hire like 50+ workers because Scratch is a nonprofit foundation and spending to much money will make them go bankrupt.

1. as noelle said they don't use generative ai
2. there are enough mods, they just can't be everywhere at once
3. scratch can't be everywhere at once like i already said and that's the point of moderation. they also can't see a project as soon as it comes out, therefore the reason for having the report button

sure, hiring more community moderators can help take down more stuff
but are we forgetting that scratch is an npo (non-profit organization)

also if they wanna hire more, paycheck cuts
and you could risk quality issues as well
