in all seriousness this is one of the more negative aspects of social media and I do not believe that children should be interacting with this.

what's wrong with updating the UI? it would be nice just to have a new design. not just to give dopamine. I don't see why just a refresh would be bad for children

i see how it could be fun, but i suggest that it should be toggleable because some people (myself included, i get really dizzy from even the smallest things and scratch is basically the only safe website for me due to that) and their devices don't do well with lots of animations

i would love a mario paint approach to the website, it would be super charming and fitting, this could be a part of ngp

the paint editor won't be updated until 4.0, everything outside of the editor will change ui in ngp.

I think the only way this should ever be implemented is a growing/shrinking animation for loving/favoriting and unloving/unfavoriting, and absolutely nothing past that.

they exploit the brains (particularly in young people)'s reward system. It “trains” people to associate the like button and social media in general with fast satisfaction. A static like button (like what we have right now) is better.

No support. As @MagicCoder330 stated before, this animation would make children associate the love/favorite buttons with a satisfactory animation, which adds unnecessary fame and stimulation. While Scratch's UI could be possibly considered “basic” or “corporate”, a simple animation is all we need. No spinning, no stretching… Just something like a size change.
