Today I was messing around with the pen tool and I encountered some problems. I was wondering if there is a way to choose a colour when changing the pen colour. I know in the first version if I clicked the colour it would allow me to do so but I was trying to do that today and couldn't. I am using a differentcomputer then normal so it could be that… Any help would be appreciated!

They took away the color picker, which is rather sad.

Fortunately, you can get a color by clicking on the color insert. The mouse pointer will turn into an eyedropper and you can grab a color from somewhere on your screen.

That makes sense, my mouse didn't change to the eye dropper image when I clicked it and the colours kept changing, I didn't know why! I thought my computer was going mad.
