I assume it has something to do with it being hosted on the same server as the other chipmunk.land services, and one of them (the ForgeJo) often gets DDOSed by web crawlers.

I think there are multiple factors to it.
* chipmunk.land is hosted on my residential internet connection is directly tunneled through a WireGuard VPN to a VPS, so by accessing it you go through multiple hops.
(note: though connecting thru the VPS gives me 50ms ping on a Minecraft server I host which is not bad imho, havent tested http(s) performance tho)
* Certain web crawlers (allegedly AI-related) have been unintentionally DDoSing the Forgejo instance on my server, which can in turn slow down the entire server. I implemented a way to slow them down though, so the situation seems more tame for the time being.
* Perhaps similar crawlers can directly slow down APIClone too sometimes? I rarely see requests to it from them though.
* (less likely) perhaps MediaWiki could be slowing down the server for the same reason as Forgejo? And also note that my main server runs quite a few daemons at once.
* The server uses a hard disk drive, and not faster types of drives like solid state drives (edit: and not a RAID array either). I doubt this is the main issue though.

Yea, in fact I support raw HTTP on most chipmunk.land sites in general! I was partly inspired by the (no longer up but archived) razorback95 website, and how it could easily be loaded in older browsers.
Having the site just work on nearly every OS containing a browser, including those without modern TLS support, is honestly quite nice, and can be fairly useful at times too.

Scratch 2.0 is back? I've been waiting for SOOOO long for someone to bring back Scratch 2.0, since 2019, and now it's back!!!! YAY!!!! Also, this is the alternative we are going to use when the ST releases the NGP or whatever its called.
