I do think they could add more colour schemes to improve accessibility since vision issues aren't the same for every1 and there are multiple types of colour blindness/colour vision deficiency.
For me, the purple also made it harder for me to use, even though I'm not colour blind (I can go into more detail if you ask)

There is A LOT of considerations when it comes to color by professional companies (in this case, Scratch Foundation). ST has to consider whether the colors help people with disabilities and take into consideration what the color symbolizes.

The problem with choosing red as the main color is that it can symbolize violence and romance (2 topics that are tend to cross the guidelines. Also btw I do NOT mean that red only symbolizes these things, it also symbolizes other things like passion, intensity, etc but I'm just saying that its also highly correlated with those 2 topics which is definitely something to take into consiferation)

Purple is correlated with things like royalty, wealth, creativity ,and wisdom

Blue is correlated with calmness, trust, confidence, and stability

I feel like changing the site color was mandatory for accessibility for the colorblind.
Also red may be a more unwelcoming color for new Scratchers. That said, I still do like red, but it could actually be unwelcoming for some now that I think about it

this is why there should be an option to change the color to whatever you want in account settings, i think there was a suggestion about that but scratchpost is down so i can't find it

If they make the Scratch cat red, then Scratch cat will be seen as evil (since rebranding it from orange or purple to red)
