im not sure whether this would mean bad dogs got formed and disbanded and then saki was like ‘yo im bored lets make music’ or like that was saki's first thoughts after toya first quit classical music ?? as far as im aware tsukasa was like ‘ hey if you dont wanna do it then dont bae’ and toya was like ‘ aw thank you senpai/onii chan’ and tsukasas not well known for keeping his thoughts to himself so i guess its not out of the picture for saki to ask him …. probably going to read some vbs sotry to seee if that actually matches up to anything in canon (bear in mind i dont know much about vbssss) but if bad dogs can form and then didnt thats like three groups that i broke up in pre-canon

also not sure how similar the rui and toya friendship dynamic will be to canon due to toya not having a tsukasa-ish relationship with mizuki… not sure if theres going to be as much admiration but i guess i'll find out ! most answers lie in me actually looking at canon!

I think he would join lights out right after quitting, so he wouldn't really see vivid street, but maybe with some connections he can visit often
he only knows mizuki through his second year class, since they're in the same homeroom

yeah i dont think him becoming chronically online is super difficult… i also dont know why else they'd know each other so that route it is! im pretty sure toya quits bad dogs quite late into the main story (he got punched right?? ive only watched the journey to bloom) so not sure how feasible it is for him to join and then like find another reason to quit very early on

Probably going to go with “saki got to him first after toya quit classical music because she was like second to know (Tsukasa influence) and toya was unable to give up music itself and wanted to try his hand at another sort.”

The over thinker in me (pretty sure everything is overthought in these tho) is not sure how this might tie into the “I'm doing it to annoy my father I'm so selfish and not passionate enough” (again I've only read summaries and journey to bloom so please correct me) but from what Ive heard his dad is really tunnel visioned on classical so dunno… Frsming it was rebellion is a very far stretch as I think Kanade niigo sort of music is usually instrumental… perhaps Toyas doing it to be nice to a long-time friend?

I think instead of heading out to the streets after running away, he goes to tsukasa's house and lets say he's out doing auditions, so saki's the only one home and introduces him to the composing thing

I'm aware most of this isn't making it into kizuna/connect but it's very useful to flesh iut this tyoe of thing… It kinda bleeds into the writing and making the character more whole even if it doesn't appear (for example the 700 hcs of Rui I shop out every so often. also real its easier to flesh out bg characters to not miss plot holes later

i know we're never finding out what rui got up to on his first year opf high school so heres some ideas i had:

depressed (well duh)

stopped talking to mizuki (probably where his taste in fashion came from. thats a year of fashion advice he'd missed out on)

everyone in fancy school hates him cos he dont study and its nerd school

probably got told to move his dream from the explosion-y show stuff to like curing cancer

probably drinks copious amounts of monster or whatever to stay awake but doesnt sleep wehn he'd meant to. acutally i think he still does that. oops

tldr: im never attempting to tier again

edit: he probably started the street shows here? no mention during middle school until that… hey ive just had a brain wave HE CAN PARALLEL HONAMI HERE COS IN ITS ON WONDER HALLOWEEN TEHRES A FLASHBACK WHERE HES LIKE YEAH SDONT WORRY ABOUT ME NENE IM FINE IM DOING STUFF ON MY OWN and then the next thing he does is (at a stretch) do a show JUST TO SHOW HES NOT LYING AND HES ALRIGHT. (this is the important i dont care if you ignore everything else)
