Recently in the Collaboration forums, I have seen a lot of application topics. However, I'm pretty sure applications are meant to be on the topic of the collab you're applying for, and not as a separate topic. So is that allowed?

I see that. That seems just like with the penpal threads, but it’s for another part of the community (appears to be role-play type stuff.) I would say that they should go into a megathread (also like with the penpal threads,) and not as separate topics.

For now, though, I say just report one or two and state that they shouldn’t be separate topics.

But they seem to be for lots of different things, especially stuff that dont have megathreads.

Yeah. If there is no megathread already, then someone in charge should be told to make one. If members of a group post stuff in the forums, the leader can too. Not doing so seems a little off to me.

The application I reported still hasn't got closed, so maybe it's allowed?
Let's just wait for more responses.

I find it weird how the application topics all seem to be from people with <100 posts…

It would be nice if the roleplay (or whatever joint venture was involved) started a topic just for applications - but I don't believe we have ever required it.
