how do you get ideas when you don't have any? for me, i just sit down, and think, and the things that come in mind, i just smush them together, and if i'm satisfied with that, i do that, but if i'm not, then i repeat until i am satisfied

Well, I personally get ideas from games that i've played in the past. Although not public, I've made a simcity clone because I played a lot of simcity at the time of making that. But there are many ways people can get ideas, especially from looking at nature alone too
