I know right? Golden Gate is a place in the Pacific Ocean, I believe (I need to urgently revise geography)Is that actually the name of the OS XDMacOS Golden Gate has just been announced at the latest WWDC. Now with actual A.I. (Apple IntelligenceBut most importantly, it tones down the ugly Liquid Glass UI on Tahoe).
They fixed a problem that didn't exist back in Sequoia…
It is annoying that they have moved away from real wallpapers
Instead they want to showcase how the background can change with light/dark theme but nobody notices.
What a waste of effort. They should spend more time trying to stop Grapher from crashing randomly!

Sorry for the necropost, but Macintosh is a type of apple (McIntosh). This is a topic for all macOS versions from 11.0 and upMacintosh, according to google, means a full-length waterproof coat or a cloth waterproofed with rubber. Interesting… Anyways to actually add to the topic, I hate Mac's terminal theme. Why is it pure white… WHY
This includes:
*Prototypes of macOS 11.0 and up
*macOS Big Sur (11.0)
*macOS Monterey (12.0)
*macOS Ventura (13.0)
*macOS Sonoma (14.0)
*macOS Sequoia (15.0)
*macOS Tahoe (26.0)
other than that, Mac is pretty neat :)

Anyways to actually add to the topic, I hate Mac's terminal theme. Why is it pure white… WHYTry going to Shell>Show Inspector and then click Profile. There's several themes you can choose from there.
Edit: I messed up the quote structure, this should fix it

It usually happens when I'm changing filename or renaming, and it's not like I'm running out of RAM (or in Mac OS speak: Unified memory)

Notice for Monterey users on Chromium: Chromium 150 will be the last version to officially support macOS Monterey*sigh* I use chrome on Monterey most of the time. That's the newest computer I have.
I hope chromium-legacy comes back honestly

Put Sequoia on that thing! But I will say, Dortania's instructions are weird, I recommend using iFixit's instructions instead.

Can't wait for the first stable golden gate release – finally I can get my slightly frosted menu bars back!
It would be a nice change from Liquid Glass, which makes any button look like bubblewrap…

Chrome 151 will release on July 28Back in the Intel Mac period, chrome was the more ram intensive web browser. You'd ask anyone this and they'd agree.
But now I think safari is actually more resource heavy if you open lots of tabs. Sure it's fine if you've got like one thing open, but if you've got multiple tab groups with 20 tabs each, then chrome handles that better- thanks to the performance/ resource detector feature.
However it's about picking the right tool for the job, safari uses less RAM unified memory (sorry Tim Cook) when only 1-10 tabs are open (casual use) and then chrome is for anything that doesn't work well in safari, or when you need multiple groups of 20 tabs…

Fun fact: The 2007 iMac lineup can theoretically run every version of macOS for Intel, from Tiger to Tahoe. It can natively run Tiger-El Capitan, while dosdude1 has patchers for Sierra-Catalina, and OpenCore Legacy Patcher supports Big Sur-Sequoia, with Tahoe having some experimental patches available on GitHub. In theory you could dual-boot the first Intel Mac OS with the last Intel Mac OS on that machine.
