[ DAILY 3 ]
Serrie : Hello there, Denial. Thank you for agreeing to have this interview with me. Could you start us off with an introduction, about you?
Denial : Howdy am denial. I am a rising senior in college and just turned an adult. I'm in the US but i really don't like to talk about politics for obvious reasons. Uhhh hobbies include dnd, chess, games, pc building, audio tech, and reading/writing
Unfortunately I'm a bio major
Serrie : Holy moly Denial are you old. Do you remember how the dinosaurs were? …Well, I hope that you do remember about your previous sessions of SWC. You have many interesting hobbies. Why did you decide to get into SWC in the first place?
Denial : Sandy threatened me convinced me with great words of encouragement
Serrie : Hmm, yes, the ever so alpha Sandy. How is SWC shaping up to be for you, then? What are your favourite activities and experiences in the camp?
Denial : Uh currently I participate for 1-2 weeks, then kinda just quietly not participate idk why tbh. But cool ace attorney cabin this time, and I'm writing my dnd world + lotm fanfic so hopefully I'll participate the full session this time…
Fav activities in the camp include participating in cabin activities
I HATE WORD WARS I CAN'T WIN
Serrie : I can quite understand that… it happens to me, as well. Wow, “ace attorney?” I wonder what that is! (laughs)
I must confess that I'm looking forward to both your LOTM fanfiction and the DND world you have planned. They will be amazing, I'm sure.
Cabin activies are some of my favourites, too. I know myself that Hope and Wari have something incredibly fun planned for Mystery…
All writers derive their inspiration from reading to some extent. What are your favourite works of fiction, and your favourite characters?
Denial : My favOrite (haha british colony HAHAHAHAHAH) works of fiction would be gsgw (got dropped in a ghost story gotta work), lotm, orv (omniscient reader's viewpoint), lout of the counts family, shadow slave, and greatest real estate developer for light novels and such.
I don't really watch much TV but I used to absolutely love supernatural and impractical jokers. I did like andor a lot but I'm currently getting into frieren.
Movies I don't really like too much ngl. Too short for me lol. If I had to have a favorite it'd either be a monty python one or airplane!
As for my favorite characters? Thematically I think Ho Yuwon from gsgw is my favorite character of all time, although if I wanted to go more into him it'd be a huge spoiler lol. For hype and aura moments almost every character from lotm is great.
Serrie : Ah… I have absolutely heard you talk of these a lot. Frieren is also an excellent watch! As much as I would love to hear more, I suppose I don't want to get spoiled either.
I understand you about movies. They don't really end up sticking with me.
July must be freer for you than most months. How do you spend your vacation time, other than in SWC?
Denial : i just frolic around doing lab work and stuff if i need to, but most of the time i end up playing video games and talking with friends lol. Lately i've been getting into looking for audio devices a lot, but I used to be a huge league player (not as much anymore thankfully). Unfortunately I have been getting back into valorant
Serrie : And we are all thankful for that. Nevermind, that is worse. Well, I believe it is time to wrap this interview up!
Is there anything else you care to share about yourself?
Denial : jigglypuff

Daily Day 3 with Serrie (except it's lotm fanfic)
936 words
Leonard looked at the newspaper, looking for any signs of a beyonder meeting today. He needed the ingredients to advance to sequence 7 Nightmare after taking much longer than he would have liked to fully digest the Midnight Poet potion.
“Hmm. No market today. Might as well check the journalist column for some tips on writing.”
He scanned through the written works section until he found an interesting interview.
“An Interview with acclaimed SWC'er Serrie.”
He skimmed through the introduction and got to the meat of the article.
“If there was a fictional character that you think embodies you the most who would it be and why?”
“Hmm… I'm not sure. I think Kazuma Asougi from the Great Ace Attorney is definitely one of those. Other than him, I would pick Marcille from Dungeon Meshi and Gideon Nav from TLT. As of now the character who I can relate to the most is Klein Moretti… but I fear that could also be recency bias, ahaha.”
Leonard sat up in surprise. “Who is Marcille and Gideon? Wait that doesn't matter, why did they mention Klein? My dear seer was turned into a book character?” Leonard wistfully thought of his partner before looking back towards the paper.
“And why would that be the case?”
“Again, I don't know for certain. But one of the common patterns I have noticed in the characters I relate to end up being in their unwillingness to conform to the norms, and their resolve to bring about change. There are other things, too, in their flaws. …They will have to remain a mystery, for now.”
“That… sounds like my Klein?” Leonard started reading the column in a feverish matter, almost crumpling the otherwise pristine paper with a death grip.
“Cool! I personally don't really know many of the characters and I am able to larp one of them kinda well? Idk but thanks for the introduction! Now since this is the writing camp, naturally I want to learn a bit more about your writing! Starting off, what type of genres and characters/tropes do you like writing the most? Like a bl, mystery, thriller, that kind of thing.”
“Oh, I know enough about your larping, jigglypuff. You're welcome! I really do like writing BL, how did you know? And GL, of course. The motivation to write fanfiction of my favourite ships gets me committed to SWC each session. I mostly enjoy writing mystery and action genres. I believe most of my works are driven by the characters they are about, to the extent genre doesn't matter. And of course, the hype and aura moments.”
Wait is this Seeka Tron? Leonard remembered her proclamation of finding new story material upon seeing the two preparing for breakfast…
“Interesting! Your works have been spread throughout swc and are pretty massive, so how do you come up with such characters and if you had to choose what are you favorite types of characters to write with?”
“…Really? Or are you making this up, interviewer? Many of my characters are consciously or subconsciously based on character dynamics throughout fiction I enjoy. I mostly create characters in pairs, with contrasting personalities and backstories that parellal each other. I believe the most important part of a character is the bonds they forge with other people, which can either bring out the worst or the best in them. Of course, I also enjoy giving my characters some small pieces of myself, to make them more enjoyable to write. Some of my favourite characters to work with are cute and innocent-seeming villians, grim and bright characters together, if that makes sense?”
“Do I really contrast Klein that much?” Leonard started scratching his chin with his white glove in thought. Leonard started desperately thinking of contrasting qualities the two had before giving up. He tried consoling himself. “It's not like there are any babies actively going around with demigod powers too…” He carried on, hoping for any more signs.
“Hmm how peculiar! Do you have any hobbies that influence your writing or anything more about yourself you want to share that can help us understand your characters more?
”Yes. I secretly enjoy killing people at night. I really enjoy drawing, and I think wanting my characters to look cool on the outside and have a creative design ends up being important to me. This also drops me into a hole of searching about fashion history, and ideas about their outfits which also hints into their lore. Balance matters a lot, to me. A loud, colourful character must be balanced with a dull, monochrome character. My feelings vary the same way, I feel…! In the end, I just hope my characters are complex and intricate, and yet, human and understandable.“
Leonard's eyes lit up at the sight of fashion. ”As a handsome gentleman myself I believe that there is a high possibility they could be referring to me and Klein! We also have our own secrets…“ He smiled in self satisfiaction.
”Alright, thank you for answering my questions about you and your characters
If you have any last remarks nows the time!“
”Censored“
”What? What could they possibly have said that would get censored by the chat forum…“ Leonard closed the newspaper with a slight sense of emptiness before looking up to see Klein standing before him, two tickets spreading out in his hand and a slightly puzzled look plastered on his face.
”You know we have a play to watch, and you're not even dressed properly."
Leonard looked at his dear seer with a smirk on his face, and took a ticket.

Part Two: Story and Stone
335/300 words
The Falling Islands are a grouping of Islands floating in the sky, above a vast ocean far beneath. There are twenty seven islands in total, the largest being around five hundred square miles and the smallest being about ten square miles, or a short bike ride long. The largest island lies at the center of the archipelago, and the smaller ones are on the edge of it. This center island (largest island) is called Saxum, and is home to the capital city, cleverly named Saxum City /j. This city is home to the Monarch and their court, and is the center of trade and politics.
Water is a common resource on The Falling Islands, with seemingly non-stop rivers flowing on every island. The rivers ‘spawn’ at the center of an island, flowing until they reach the edge of an island. At that point, they simply fall into the ocean below.
There are a myriad of strange creatures on The Falling Islands- one of the more common ones being the Suda Megant, or more commonly known as the Wind Jellies. The Wind Jellies look like graceful Jellyfish. They float serenely between the Islands, occasionally resting by a plant to feed off of it. They come in many colors, including sunset orange, lavender, and pearl. There is a certain breed of the Wind Jellies that can be harnessed and used for transportation, especially for crossing between islands.
The people of the Fallen Islands are known as Fallers. The richer Fallers live closer to the center of the archipelago, while the poorer ones live on the outer islands. The richer you are in the archipelago, the more say you have in politics. The ruler of the archipelago is known as the Monarch. The title is passed through blood, the first born child gets it. Currently, the Monarch is a man named Ion, he and his husband, Olui, are both changing a lot of things in the archipelago - and many people are divided on it.
Part three : Land of Stories
728/500 words
The water was cold, but not cold enough. Alesha pulled her hand from the stream and shook the water off. Further upstream then. She looked up- up towards the island where the water was serenely cascading from. Alesha huffed. It was quite a ways up, and Lila was being a little… uncooperative today. But there was nothing to do about it. There never was.
Alesha made her way back towards where she had tethered Lila- a stake pounded into the ground at the edge of this relatively small island. As Alesha got closer to the edge of the platform, she started to step a little more carefully. She used to not care- she wasn’t afraid of heights! But after that poor boy had fallen off one of the islands last week… Her father had made her promise to watch where she stepped.
“Hey Lila!” Alesha called toward the Wind Jelly, who was calmly floating around aimlessly.
Lila didn’t notice.
“Lila!” Alesha shouted again, tugging on the rope to prompt Lila to come. Lila looked over at Alesha with her non-existent eyes, and then lazily started drifting towards her. Alesha tapped her foot on the soft grass impatiently. At last, Lila stopped in front of her.
“Thank you.” Alesha said, with only a slight bit of annoyance in her voice.
She transferred the leash from the stake to her hands, swinging herself up on the Wind Jelly’s saddle.
“Alright Lila, we’re heading up to that island above us, got it?” Alesha didn’t know if Lila really understood her, but Alesha liked to talk to her anyway.
Alesha pulled the reins up to direct her, and they left the small island. As they slowly made their way up to the other island, Alesha couldn’t help but look down at the ocean far, far below. It was hard to believe that the rivers had made it all. There was just so much water down there, and so little up here.
“Y’know Lila, if they do go on an expedition to explore down there, I want to be a part of it. Even if I were a worker- it would still be worth it.”
Lila didn’t respond, merely continuing to head towards the island.
Alesha was silent for a moment.
“I don’t know if dad could take it though.” She said with a laugh. She shook her head as they reached the edge of the upper island.
“Not like I’ll be able to though, right?” Alesha hopped off Lila, back to the center of the new island they were on. She grabbed Lila's leash and the stake again, kneeling down to pound it into the ground.
“I mean, it’s probably only the richest who will-” Alesha’s back straightened, the back of her neck prickling.
Something was wrong.
Lila wasn’t trying to stop her from tethering her- instead, the young Wind Jelly was trembling slightly, frozen in place. What was-
Voices. From somewhere on the island. They were hushed- harsh- but Alesha couldn’t make them out. Something about it worried her - only certain people were allowed on this island, and today it was her job to collect the water. There shouldn’t be anyone here.
Quickly, Alesha finished pounding the spike into the ground. She made a quick shushing gesture to Lila (not that Lila could really make noise, but still), and hurried off in a low crouch to investigate. Alesha’s thick boots were silent as she crept through the clustered trees. This Island was a Agiat biome- cold, with tall fir trees, moss, and fairy lights strewn about.
As Alesha got nearer to the voices, her nerves began to grow. Her heart was pounding in her ears, and she was so worried she would snap a twig or something. This wasn’t a good idea. Dad would kiII her.
Soon, Alesha was close enough to see the tips of their heads. The people, whoever they were, were in a small dip in the ground that was devoid of trees. She pressed her back against a tree, closing her eyes tightly.
She tried to steady her breathing before she peaked over the ledge down at the group of people below.
She listened, frozen, for about thirty minutes.
Four hours later, Alesha burst into her family's small house, yelling for her father to take her to the Monarch.
He needed to hear what Alesha had seen.
Part Four: Once Upon a SWapC
917/500 words
Swapped with @CaleMoretti
Alesha slid off her nameless borrowed Wind Jelly and looked around. There was no one else inside, only a large glass dome surrounded by a forest. Inside the dome, Alesha could see all types of plants pressed up against the glass. The dome wasn’t merely large- it was ginormous. The regular-sized door seemed tiny in comparison.
Alesha stepped forward hesitantly. This island was weird- she couldn’t believe no one had found this before. Where had the dome come from? Taking a deep breath, Alesha pushed open the door.
A blast of warm, humid air hit her as she walked inside. Somehow, the dome looked bigger on the inside. Plants of all shapes and sizes were strewn about, with a river cutting through it all. There was a cobblestone path winding around, over, and under the-
“Ah! Someone new! How are you?”
Alesha froze as she heard the voice. She spun around, noticing the small blond man for the first time. He looked a bit frazzled, coat buttons undone and shirt half untucked. He had a thin mustache and pierced ears with little emerald earrings.
“I-uh- who are you?”
“Why, I am Maximus, of course.” The man said, smiling and taking a step closer to her.
“Ah,” Alesha said, wary.
“And who might you be?”
“…Alesha.”
“Good to meet you, dear Alesha!” The man, Maximus, held out a hand. She shook it tentatively.
“Wait- so- do you know what this place is?”
“Of course I do! I created it! These are my botanical gardens…” Maximus kept talking, but Alesha was no longer paying attention. She had seen something behind him. No- no- it couldn’t be. Her sister was dead. She had died when- when Alesha had-
“Why, are you quite alright Alesha? You look pale.” He said, with a… creepy smile.
Alesha’s gaze flicked to him, then back where she had seen… her. But there was nothing. She calmed herself- it wasn’t real.
“I- I- I’m fine.” She stammered. “Look, old man, I’m looking for something. A gem. Blue. Glowing. Do you know where it is?”
Maximus looked offended for the barest of seconds before putting the smile back on. “I’m afraid I haven’t, miss. But if there were a gem like you describe anywhere in here, it would be at the center. My gardens can be a confusing place though.”
“Then lead me.” Alesha said. She had to get out of here. As soon as possible. This place gave her the creeps.
Maximus raised his eyebrows, but started leading Alesha down the path. “Now, how did you get here? Nobody’s been to my gardens in years. They used to be quite famous, you know.”
Alesha paused. Famous? Literally no one knew this place existed except for her. She shook her head, hurrying up. She didn’t have time to think about that. She had a job to do.
When Alesha didn’t respond, Maximus just kept talking. “Here, let me tell you about my gardens. I’m quite proud of them. They remind people of who they used to be.”
Maximus talked in a never ending stream for a bit, and Alesha tuned him out. She focused on the scenery around her. Butterflies flew around, gathering on trees and visiting flowers. Fish jumped in and out of the river, shimmering in bright, pearlescent tones. A net was leaned against a tree- the kind for catching bugs. Something felt familiar about it- Wait, was that the net her sister had played with. Suddenly, Alesha noticed her sister running happily in her yellow and white dress, dark brown hair flowing behind her.
Alesha breath caught. No- it wasn’t real. This was just- just a hallucination or something. Jia was dead. Had been for years.
Alesha turned her eyes back to the road, but not before catching a glimpse of the hallucination Jia thing staring at her with narrowed eyes and set jaw. Alesha closed her eyes, trying to ignore… whatever it was. When she opened her eyes, she saw Maximus watching her, still with that ever-present smile on his face.
“She’s real, you know.” He said, voice soft. “She doesn’t like it when you say she’s not.”
Alesha froze, staring at him with wide eyes. “W-What do you mean? Jia? How do you know her? What is going on?”
Maximus merely smiled. “She wants you to acknowledge her.”
Alesha glared at him. “Jia- Jia is dead. She died years ago.”
The two looked at each other for a moment, before Aleseah pushed past him. “Whatever. Just lead me to the gem.”
Maximus shrugged. “Fine. Just keep an eye behind you.”
Alesha resisted the temptation to look back. It was nothing. There was nothing.
“STOP IGNORING ME!” A voice yelled, sharp, angry, familiar.
Alesha covered her ears. She started to run, ignoring the tears that were starting to form. She didn’t want to remember Jia-
Jia was in front of her, screaming. “I AM REAL!”
Alesha scrambled back. “No- no- no you are dead!”
“NO!”
“Dead! Dead! Dead!”
Alesha backed up until she was pressed against a tree, sobbing. Jia stood over her, face red.
“Don’t you remember me? Your little sister? Have you forgotten me?”
“Dead. Dead. Dead.”
It was a mantra now, a whisper that Alesha repeated over and over to herself. This would ruin her - this was ruining her.
She looked over to Maximus in desperate hope, but all he was doing was watching calmly. Smiling.
This was a mistake.
She should have never come.
It was too late now.

SWC Megathread ‧₊˚❀༉‧ July 2026

Wilbur: Hello!! I suppose since this is your profile I should ask a question first, so; how did you get your start in swc?
Surf: When I was younger, I used to write short stories and I always thought I was going to be an author. Since I was interested in writing, when I found SWC– probably just scrolling through projects–I was really curious about what it was and ended up joining. I joined back in November 2023 and this is now my ninth session! (should you interview me first, and then we switch or do you want to go back and forth with questions the whole time?)
W: That's really cool :0. Do you remember what any of the short stories you wrote when you were younger were about? (I'm fine with whatever you prefer! I'm just asking a second question here for efficency's sake)
S: I do, actually! I have a lot of them saved in my drive–the most memorable of which was a 7000 word story where a girl becomes transported via a magical book into a very basic fantasy land. I think it was from a fourth grade writing assignment, so looking back on it I feel bad for making my teacher read through all of it lol. What about you–how did you become introduced to SWC (and writing)?
W: Wait that's so cute. My story is pretty similar to yours. I've been writing since I found out it was something I could do (so around six years old, I think) and found SWC while flipping through profiles and thought it looked fun! I think my first session was March 2024. I know that you're leading Bi-fi this season and if I recall correctly you've led a few other cabins in the past. How did you get started in that?
S: like the different aspects that go into cabin planning and I wanted to give back to the SWC community, so I applied for leader in my fourth session and ended up as a co-leader for Mystery. One of my other memorable leading experience was leading Sci-Fi last July, which was really fun. Have you ever considered applying/applied as a leader? And what are your other hobbies, outside of SWC?
W: I haven't, I fear that I don't have the time/commitment it takes to be one. I really admire you and all the other leaders for all the work you put in, it's very kind of you all to be giving your time so the community can have a nice experience! Outside of SWC I really enjoy reading and hiking! I'm also slowly getting back into drawing, which I used to do quite a lot. How about you< what do you like to do in your free time?
S: I also love reading, hiking, and drawing! I just finished We Solve Murders this morning which was pretty good; what sort of books do you like to read? And similarly to you, I need to get back into making art–this past school year was really busy so I hadn't had much time to draw though hope I can do a lot more art this summer. Along with those interests, I also like to play tennis and learn about science/geology.
W: I've always thought geology was so cool but I've never known how to learn more about it, do you have any good starting points you'd reccomend (or just facts you think people should know)? And, I like to read fantasy books mostly, I also sometimes dabble in non-fiction.
S: I first was interested in geology when I learned about the different rock types and then mineral classification, but honestly you can start at so many different places! One of the things I like about the topic is that it's really diverse and interconnected with a lot of different sciences, like geochemistry and geobiology. I also like to read fantasy books as well, along with sci-fi and non-fiction! Honestly, I find non-fiction harder to read than fiction so I've been trying to read it more often. Do you have any recommendations?
W: That's fascinating! I had no idea that geology was interdisciplinary. As for book reccomendations, I found All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot (a book recounting the experiences for a vet living in Yorkshire), Mother Tongue by Bill Bryson (the subtitle of the book is “English and how it got that way”, which I feel describes the book accurately), and Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green (a series of short essays where the author reviews random things from the anthropocene, which is the era of humans) are all really good! I personally think that a lot of what defines good non-fiction is less about subject matter and more about the narrative of the book and the way the author writes. I saw that you said you also like sci-fi, have you perchance read Project Hail Mary?
S: I agree, creativity is a big part of what makes a good nonfiction book! Ooh those all look interesting! I’ve read the Anthropocene Reviewed as a summer reading book a few years back but I’ll check the other two out! I have in fact read Project Hail Mary, it’s one of my favorites! I haven’t watched the movie yet but I’ve heard it’s really good so it’s on my bucket list! I love the Martian too, it’s another one of Andy Weir’s books if you’ve read that too?
W: I haven't read the Martian but I'm definitely going to read it as soon as I can figure out if my library has it. I too have yet to watch the movie for Project Hail Mary but I'm a little scared to beause the book was so good and I feel like a movie could never meet that. Do you have any other favorites you'd reccomend?

──★ ˙ interview with snowy
947 words … july 3
snowy - Okay, so I actually have seen you around SO much but have never really talked to you that much! I guess that's what this is for. My first question: Outside of writing, what do you enjoy doing?
rue - lol same for me
i always just admire on trackbear how many words you can write because WHAT,,, I enjoy a lot of things actually! in my free time, I enjoy playing video games, specifically forsaken and cookie run: kingdom at the moment. as well as drawing, both digital and traditional (this year I'm participating in artfight :0). I am also on the swim team and often join meets, although I'm not very good if I'm being completely honest.
snowy - Ooh, that's so cool!! I also love video games, and my favorites are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (obviously, I talk about it a lot, ahaha), Child of Light, and Gris! I love a bunchhh of others, too, but I think that's just my top three. And drawing, that's awesome! I've never been an art person, but I admire the people who are sooo much- What do you typically draw? And I don't actually know much about Artfight—tell me more! As for swim team, wow, that's so cool! And hey, getting out there is still something, right? <333 I'm thinking this is kind of a back-and-forth thing with some amount of follow-up questions? Because we're doing this in comments, so we can kind of have multiple conversations at once. Regarding Trackbear: Yeahhh, I tend to get a little overly competitive and also forget how much I write during SWC season. Probably not as much this session, though, since I have many other things to do! I'm currently learning Python and calculus, which has been taking up a lot of my time- But my main hobbies are probably reading and piano! I'm playing in a recital for piano in a few months, actually, which is both nerve-wracking and super exciting, seeing as I haven't performed in six years
rue - ooh those games sound cool! I've personally never played them, but my friends often tell me about them lol. also, artfight is an annual art competition where people draw each other's characters! it's a a great way for the community to bond. python is honestly amazing, and I love it! speaking of which, what are you currently learning/creating in it? I honestly enjoy creating little choose-your-own-adventure stories
I'm exciting for you for your recital! I understand how nervous you may be— considering it's your first time in a while. but I think you'll do great! what piece are you playing and what made you get back into piano?
snowy - WAIT, which games? I have friends who play video games, but a lot of them are combat games. I have some friends who play E33, and a handful that also play the Project Moon games (they have been nagging me to play them; I haven't yet gotten there-). Ooh, wait, Artfight sounds like such a good way to connect with other people over art; I love that! <3 I just finished a lesson on loops, and I'm currently attempting to code a program that tells you whether a license plate is valid. I am currently struggling to do so because I made my code not super readable, so I'm thinking I might redo it in the morning, haha. I really want to create a choose your own adventure story with it!! It probably takes SO much work to map out, but it sounds awesome. What have yours been about, if you remember? With regards to piano, well, I never really stopped playing altogether, but for starters, I moved to Singapore during COVID times and never really got back into performing then, plus my teacher of like five years from after I moved until last year didn't really do recitals for her students, I think? But my old teacher moved, and my new teacher does them, so that's kind of cool. But also because I messed up really horrifically at my last recital, so it's mildly terrifying… Initially when I was doing piano, I was not super into it—this was for like a solid eight or something years, I think? I hated it, but my mom told me to do it, so I did- But it turned out well, since] I started to love it after I started doing more arrangements based on chords and playing the things that I like to play, not just what other people say, you know? So the song I'm playing is really cool, and it's one that I picked, which is nice because I'm more motivated to practice it! It's Old Lumière - Révérence by Lorien Testard, arranged by Caliko, and it's from Clair Obscur because I'm obsessed
rue - wait I think I know those games too lol. my friends play stuff like omori, ddlc, and some other ones that I honestly forgot- I LOVE loops like they just make life so much easier (as well as functions!) honestly your project sounds like a lot of fun and cool :0 having messy code is so real because I swear, every time I come back from a break, I can NEVER understand what I wrote and just sit there confused
for me, I don't exactly plan them out, I just sorta start them and hope for the best. in the past, I've done where you're stranded on an island. there was also one I did that was about socrates reincarnating and taking over the world, which was a very silly one and something I really enjoyed coding. what is something you're looking forward to code, once you learn the skills to create it? or are you more of just taking it one step at a time, and seeing where it takes you? as for the piano, I'm happy that you get to do recitals again! I always enjoyed them back when I played the flute. and I completely understand what you mean by “playing stuff you actually liked”, because the reason I quit was because I didn't really enjoy classical music. perhaps I should try again—this time playing songs I actually like. speaking of which, what genre/artists do you enjoy listening to? also, are you more of a person who decides if a song is good or not based on the lyrics or melody? personally I'm a mix of both, as oftentimes my favorite songs have both pleasant instrumentals and lyrics that I can relate to.
snowy - Whoa, we must have a lot of video game knowledge in common, I guess? I've heard of those games, but I don't really know much of anything about them, haha- I play more indie video games, usually, or really just whatever my dad recommends! I'm currently playing Neva (which I haven't worked on for ages) and Hades II, though I haven't actually played Hades I yet. And yes, loops are great; they really do make life so much easier. AND THAT'S SO REAL. I am momentarily possessed with genius, and for a little while, everything makes sense. But then I go and do something else for like ten minutes, and all of a sudden, my genius is gone and nothing makes sense anymore. Those CYOAs sound awesome! And it's great that you had fun with it; that's the most important part. I'm mostly taking it one step at a time now, but I'd like to do a CYOA program if I have the time. I mostly started learning because I saw a really interesting project using computational linguistics at a college tour, so I've been looking into the subject to keep that path open in case I decide that's something I want to pursue! I don't have that much CS experience, so that's why I started Python. The nice thing is that I did take two coding courses in middle school with Scratch, so I understand the logic. I just need to get used to the syntax and setup. Since I'm also doing this for comp-ling, it might be cool to try making an analytical program of some sort, but I definitely need to learn some more before I start anything like that. Ooh, you played the flute? Honestly, music's so worthwhile if you love the things you play, but if you don't have the opportunity to do so, it's significantly less fun. So you should definitely try using your skills to play things you like! As for what I like to listen to, I'd say my favorite genres are indie, pop, and folk, though I like combinations of them and their subgenres as well, like folk-rock and alt-pop! My two favorite artists are BLÜ EYES and Gracie Abrams, with Noah Kahan and Erin LeCount closely behind! I also listen to some video game OSTs as well. I'd say that lyrics are probably slightly more important to me? I mean, if I hate the melody, I probably won't add it to my playlist, but I can grow to like the melody more than I grow to like lyrics, you know? Like with Erin LeCount, I love her lyricism, but initially, I wasn't as big a fan of her melodies. But I've since decided that I absolutely love the production on her songs, and she's one of my favorites now! Basically, if I have mostly neutral, maybe somewhat neutral-negative feelings toward the melody, but I like the lyricism, then it still goes into my playlist, but if I'm not really a fan of the lyrics, then it generally doesn't make the cut for favorite songs. I relate to the pleasant instrumentals and relatable lyrics thing! That describes my favorite songs as well. What kind of music do you listen to? Who are your favorite artists?
rue - yeah I guess we do :0 I have to check out those games, as I don't really play indie games. I love gacha games to be completely honest lol, like cookie run: kingdom (like I mentioned earlier) and project sekai: colorful stage. I wish that I could play other video games, but I don't have a PC nor any other device that is actually meant for gaming
I've been really wanting to play genshin impact or pheraps honkai star rail. limbus company is a game I've been eyeing, although it is 18+ so I can't get it. coding is honestly super cool once you get the hang of it and you could do so many things with it. it's good that you're looking for multiple options; what are the other subjects you've been considering? as for music, I've been kind of wanting to learn how to play a different instrument—perhaps a keyboard or a guitar since it makes playing the music I like more available. but I fear that my schedule is a little too busy for lessons and practicing a whole new skill. perhaps I could get back into music in the future, once I have a clearer picture of what I want to do and set my priorities straight. or maybe I would get into the producing side of making music, as I already kind of mix my favorite songs. I always admire producers and how they seem to know how to make a song sound good. I love watching behind the scenes of my favorite artists creating their songs—it's genuinely amazing to me. wait I know gracie abrams lol, I don't personally listen, but my best friend LOVES to talk about her. tbh BLÜ EYES sounds like such a cool name I'll definitely check her out :0 and omg I also love video game OSTs, and even k-drama OSTs sometimes. I mainly stick to the ones that are found from games I play, but Limbus Company has some pretty good songs that are on my playlist. honestly, I can relate to what you said about growing to like the melody. I've found that I had to listen to some of my now favorite songs multiple times just to add them to my playlist. I listen to a lot of k-pop and vocaloid, along with random songs that I find while scouring the internet. my all time favorite group is stray kids, and I've been to one of their concerts before. have you been to a concert before? if multiple, which one was your favorite? I also like yi xi, hatsune miku, and kasane teto. stray kids I love them for being relatable, and they have genuinely shaped who I am today. the vocaloids I honestly just like because of the melody, mainly because it's pretty much all Japanese (unless if it's translated, of course).

Today, you’ll get to know someone from another cabin through an interview. Ask (and answer!) away, learn more about someone you don’t know as well, and make a new friend! Make sure you write 450 words of your interview for 500 points with an extra 150 points for sharing proof.

Wilbur: That's really cool :0. Do you remember what any of the short stories you wrote when you were younger were about?
Surf: I do, actually!
Wilbur: Wait that's so cute.
Surf: I like the different aspects that go into cabin planning and I wanted to give back to the SWC community, so I applied for leader in my fourth session and ended up as a co-leader for Mystery. One of my other memorable leading experience was leading Sci-Fi last July, which was really fun. Have you ever considered applying/applied as a leader? And what are your other hobbies, outside of SWC?
Wilbur: I haven't, I fear that I don't have the time/commitment it takes to be one.
Surf: I also love reading, hiking, and drawing! I just finished We Solve Murders this morning which was pretty good; what sort of books do you like to read? And similarly to you, I need to get back into making art–this past school year was really busy so I hadn't had much time to draw though [I hope I can do a lot more art this summer. Along with those interests, I also like to play tennis and learn about science/geology.
Wilbur: I've always thought geology was so cool but I've never known how to learn more about it, do you have any good starting points you'd reccomend (or just facts you think people should know)? And, I like to read fantasy books mostly, I also sometimes dabble in non-fiction.
Surf: I first was interested in geology when I learned about the different rock types and then mineral classification, but honestly you can start at so many different places!
Wilbur: That's fascinating!
Surf: I agree, creativity is a big part of what makes a good nonfiction book!
Wilbur: I haven't read the Martian but I'm definitely going to read it as soon as I can figure out if my library has it. I too have yet to watch the movie for Project Hail Mary but I'm a little scared to beause the book was so good and I feel like a movie could never meet that. Do you have any other favorites you'd reccomend?
Surf: I definitely agree, show/movie adaptations are usually disappointing but I’m hoping it’ll be faithful to the book even if all of the science isn’t included in the final script. I like the Murderbot Diaries and the Aurora Cycle for sci-fi, and I also really like Mistborn which is a fantasy series! I know you mentioned you like hiking; what sort of trails do you like to go on?
Wilbur: I'll make a note of those! I live in a city so hiking trails tend to be few and far between so I don't really have a preference other than my dislike of walking up hills. How about you?

⋆ You’ve spent some time getting to know the people from your own cabin, but how about the people from others? Today, you’ll get to know someone from another cabin through an interview. Ask (and answer!) away, learn more about someone you don’t know as well, and make a new friend! Make sure you write 450 words of your interview for 500 points with an extra 150 points for sharing proof.

Herm’s Question: What's your favorite part about your cabin?
Mildred’s Answer: I’d say my favorite part about my cabin is definitely the aesthetics! I absolutely love all the graphic design that Thea made, and even though I know nothing about splatoon I thought it was sooo gorgeous!! i love admiring it and it gave a really cool vibe for the cabin! I also love the pfps i drew this time around which also adds on to the epic aesthetics of the whole cabin aghsr!! so, yeah! I really enjoy the graphics and the aesthetic they have!
Mildred’s Question: what’s your favorite part of swc?
Herm’s Answer: My favorite part of SWC is probably just getting to meet more writers, to be honest! While sometimes I think the chaos can be fun, (for example, I thought Gurtle the Turtle was hilarious xD), I just love getting to talk to people who are passionate about really the main hobby that I'm interested in xD, and also just being able to use SWC as a platform to share some of the writing projects I've been working on!
Herm’s Question: If you could pick any mascot to bring back, who would you choose and why?
Mildred’s Answer: Hm, I’m gonna be honest, I never really pay much mind to the mascots each session? I kind of regret having done that, so I do intend to interact with our mascots more in future sessions xD I’d say that the ducks from the clue session (november 2024 I believe it was?) were super cute and funny, so bringing them back would be pretty fun hehe.
Mildred’s Question: What past writing of yours, whether it be a daily, weekly, comp entry, or personal writing outside of swc are you most proud of?
Herm’s Answer: yes! I remember the ducks xDD <3 And ooh, good question! Probably, if I had to be honest, the book that I finished the first draft to over a year ago, which is kind of about if the 12 zodiac signs each had a kingdom where each year they'd have one royal compete for power (or really, the crown), over the entire planet in the main kingdom. But inside SWC, maybe all of the pieces of writing I've done for my pirates, (Tiberius, Firth, and Princess Coralie), who may or may not have inspired a bit of the mini series now that I'm currently working on!
Herm’s Question: If you could add a new cabin genre, then what would you do and why? :0
Mildred’s Answer: After looking at some book genres for a bit—I think a found footage cabin would be really neat! Not exactly a “genre”, but I think having a cabin which is heavily puzzle-based would be really cool, and having them analyze videos would be really fun :00 it might be a bit difficult to pull off, but I think the storyline could be something like we found a camera in the woods or something when hiking, but when we look through the footage, we realize the camera may have belonged to someone who was apart of something we need to investigate!! taking videos would be really fun to do, and making our campers analyze it would be sooo fun hehe, (this would actually be a fire mystery cabin that’s going in my next leader app), I also think a slice of life TCTWNW cabin would be fun where we all just get into random shenanigans in maybe a school environment!
Mildred’s Question: is there a specific character archetype/trope you like?
Herm’s Answer: Woahh that sounds like it'd be so much fun!! :0 <3 I'd say maybe a specific character archetype/trope that I like would probably be like the ‘wise fool’ because I think not only do they know how to have a good time usually, but they can often surprise other characters with their wisdom in some of the more random moments- which I think is just, I don't know, really cool! :3 Like they can make other people feel better with their jokes, yes, that's one thing, but they can also surprise other people with their intelligence!
Herm’s Question: Is there a character who you really look up to? If so, who, and why?
Mildred’s Answer: not exactly characters I look up to, but two character I like with traits I admire are Zero Ukai and Shirube from Zero: Ikkaku Senkin Game! Zero Ukai is basically this really smart guy who is able to solve all the puzzles in the show on his own—but despite that intelligence, he’s an incredibly selfless character who goes to great lengths to protect others. In the show, they’re basically in like a competition to win a lot of money and also become heir to the biggest company in Japan, and the games also sometimes can result in your death (THIS CAME OUT BEFORE SQUID HAME), yet Zero remains compassionate for others despite the fact the game masters constantly attempt to either take advantage of his kindness or prove it was a lie, he’s unwavering in his desire to help others, and is still able to use his intelligence to his advantage which I really admire. Shirube is another character who is a 13-year old prodigy with intellect to match Zero’s—I really loved his character arc of only having been looking for someone to trust the entire time, and eventually being able to find just that. He’s also an actual aurafarmer. I really admire both character’s intelligence, Zero’s compassion for others, and Shirube learning to trust!
Mildred’s Question: Is there any songs or music artists in general that you resonate with?
Herm’s Answer: Oh definitely, I'd say! Some of my favorite musical artists are The Crane Wives, (they're my favorite band and I just feel like their folksy sounds- like the instruments they use- and their lyrics are just so relatable and grounded! Also, Florence + The Machine too, especially with her song Dog Days Are Over- because I feel like that song has just popped up in my life so many times at just really good moments randomly! But some of my favorite songs by other artists are Can't Catch Me Now by Olivia Rodrigo because it just came at a point in my life where I was kind of at the tail end of dealing with a lot of friendship troubles at school and I'd say it definitely felt like a way to, I guess, push through it or just kind of move on from it! As well as this, I think just a lot of songs by Enya, and just a bunch of songs from some of my favorite musicals also, (because I'm a huge musical theatre person :p), definitely resonate with me too, probably because I've practically been doing it almost my entire life haha!
Herm’s Question: Last question for you, because I think we're at enough/or almost enough words now? :0 How did you first get into SWC, or if you don't remember lol (because I forget how I originally found SWC since its been a while xD), what was your first cabin?
Mildred’s Answer: One of my favorite games is called Project Sekai, it’s a rhythm game with character stories and also Hatsune Miku xD since I liked the game, I would usually play Project Sekai themed games on here, one of which was a Project Sekai Chibi maker that Yume made! So I started following Yume and actually discovered SWC in March 24 through the ‘What’s Happening’ page since Yume gave the signups project a like, but I didn’t actually join until July 24!

Daily 3: My parts
w/ Dragon
Hi Dragon! I'm Vicky! I'm a British Muslim teen who's ethnically Nigerian (nobody here actually knows that about me yet =O) and my I'm obsessed with the colour purple. I have a LOT of hobbies and fandoms, but i mainly love reading, writing and different art forms <3
What about you?
-
I had a friend who was russian but we moved schools and grew distant
Green is a very nice colour and i also love biking, drawing & crafting and OMG YOU'LL NEVER GUESS: writing *gasp*.
Normally i would say it's very rainy to live in England but the weather has been SO BIPOLAR LATELY!??! Like idk if you have heard about it, but there was a heatwave last week and a few weeks ago and it was BURNING like the humidity was rlly bad too. Now it's like it's boiling then you blink and it's raining cats and dogs.
What's it like to like in the US?
-
It's so cool that you live in a country so big and like with such diverse weather. bro uk weather is measured in less rain more rain like we're not beating the stereotypes XD
It depends on how you define ART
I sketch using pencil (i wanna get alchohol markers soo baddddd) humanoids and fashion sketches, and i paint with acrylic but i've always wanted to get into digital art
I also love lettering and this holidays im planning on a small scale gift card business which i primarily use acrylic markers for
I love to link my “art” skills to crafty things like crochet and graphic design which i also do
so as you can see i have a lot of hobbies ;'D i mean i never get tired of life! imagine being bored? i could never relate-
I'd love to know more about the Russian culture!
-
Hmm.. I'm very exploarative (??) with my fashion design actually, although on one hand im drawn to things like formal dressing suits and tuxedos and a loit of like old fashioned dark academia style too, but on the other hand i like drawing streetwear and also like ball gowns etc. so yeah, i like exploring a lot of different styles. I'm getting a lot more into menswear lately bcs i feel like menswear is very under appreciated in fashion and i like a challenge hehe.
I'm a travel lover so i would love to visit russia one day it sounds super cool! the stranger giving you advice thingy lowk just gave me a short story idea hehe-
hmmmmmm, thats a very interesting question for someone as indecisive as me
that lowkey kinda deep
i try to be religious so i'd definitely say heaven etc etc. yk
if i had to my biggest wish/hope for the future, ik this will sound childish but i always just wanted to, ig do more for the world? im the type of person who pretty much hates any type of injustices and hates to see people suffer etc. like despite not being like the most extroverted person, im known in my school/class for pretty much not tolerating bullying and stuff like that. i want to grow up and be known for making a difference to this world. i want to stand up against oppressors, break stereotypes etc. i pretty much want to be an activist? but it's somethin that always felt like such a distant dream that i only ever whisper and hope for yk? and it kinda sounds childish saying it out loud but i really wanna help change the slowly worsening state of the world or die trying yk?
omg that was so DEEPP-
(i rewrote this part so many times) T^T
anyways… i gtg but i'd love to speak more and be penpals in the near future <3
- from ur new swc friend: vicky

WARI: Hi Luna! Long time no see!
LUNA: {plops down in a chair, grinning as she waves at Wari} Wari! It really has been way too long. How goes it?
WARI: {leans back in the chair, smiling} Busy, but good! It's been a hectic week, and I'll definitely have to lock in for some things, but I've also had a lot of fun so it balances out! {taps chin thoughtfully} So, do you want to start with the questions or should I?
LUNA: I can start! Hmm… {glances away, thinking to herself} Ooh! I know! {leans forward} As a aspiring psychology major, this one feels fitting for me to ask…tell me about some of your personality types. MBTI, Enneagram, DND Alignment, Harry Potter house…they don't have to be those ones specifically, just some ideas! But what do they say about you?
WARI: {looks up at the ceiling, thinking} That's a good question! I vaguely recall being ENFJ and maybe 3w2 when I took the tests a couple of years ago. {laughs} Those results have probably changed by now, but it'll take way to long to retake them so it'll have to do! {leans forward} I've been playing in a D&D campaign with some other SWCers, so that one's definitely fresh in my mind! I'm a neutral good! I try to always do what feels right to me, rather than what people say I should do—{as an aside} hence not lawful good. I can border on chaotic good when I feel like it, but that's usually just for fun rather than my main mindset. For Harry Potter houses, I've always been obsessed with Ravenclaw, and I think it still fits! {grins} I love learning, solving puzzles, and other quiet tasks that stretch my brain. {eyes light up} As a bonus, I'll also include my Star Wars lightsaber color! My lightsaber would be blue, which is not just because Anakin's still one of my favourite characters. {rolls eyes} Blue's the color of action and… {pauses} forwardness, I guess? I feel like it describes how I like to approach new things, which is by jumping straight in and pouring my heart into them! {shakes head} Well, that's enough from me, I've been yapping for far too long. {laughs}
LUNA: Dude, I love your yaps and you know it! We're close in personality types - I'm an ENFP, neutral good, and a Ravenclaw. No clue what color my lightsaber is, but I'm betting on blue too…I'll have to take that personality test someday. {pauses} That was a thoughtful response…tough act to follow. Let's see what I can do. {leans forward} Any burning questions?
WARI: {grins} Ooh, that's cool! {taps cheek thoughtfully} I didn't take a personality quiz for the lightsaber though, that was just vibes. {laughs} And a lot of lightsaber research. It's maybe a problem. {clears throat} Ahem, ANYWAY. It's really been quite a long while since we last caught up, so I guess I'll ask about what you're into now! For my question, what is your current Roman empire? {leans back} From your current hobbies, interests, and fandoms, what is one thing that you're absolutely obsessed with?
LUNA: Ohoho! Don't get me started…as an ADHDer, my Roman empires are vast and constantly changing. Shoutout hyperfocus. {rolls her eyes} But right now…I gotta admit, I'm kind of obsessed with…. {looks to the side sheepishly} college? I'm about to go into my first year and I'm genuinely so, so excited. I just got my housing assignment so my roommate and I created a 3D model of our entire dorm and how we want it to look, I've been meticulously planning out my classes and my schedule, and when I'm not doing that I'm just daydreaming about what my life will be like when I'm there…I'm just so excited to start this new chapter. I feel like such a nerd saying that. My Roman empire is school. But aside from that, I've been really into crafting lately! {her eyes light up} I made some matchbox prints and newspapers for my friends as going-away gifts since we're all going off to college, and I'm also making one of my best friends a diorama. I've also been doing some crafts here and there for myself - like I'm making a summer scrapbook, for example! It's been really fun to get back in touch with my artsy side after like, four constant years of burnout. But…yeah! Those have been the top fixations on my mind as of late. Aside from SWC, of course. {grins} I haven't been this active in SWC for a very long time, and it's amazing to reconnect with the community.
WARI: {nods} That's so cool, and totally real! College is such a big change, and I know it was all I could think about back when I was a freshman! {claps hands together} I've wanted to get back into art for so long, so I'm glad you've been able to tap into your creative side! {beams} And yes, of course, we can't forget about SWC. The whole reason we're having this conversation! {taps knee} So with that, I'll take your next question!
LUNA: Alrighty then! This one's been brewing in my head as we've been conversing… {raises an eyebrow mischievously} I figured we could go back to our roots, namely one of our previous interview topics….theatre. If you were on Broadway, what show would you be in and who would you be? And more importantly, why?
WARI: {leans back} Oh, theatre, my beloved. {stares off into the distance} I'll admit that I haven't been as into Broadway as I used to be, but I'll always hold it close to my heart. {smiles} {pauses to flip through broadway playlist} Wow, I really haven't listened to any new musicals in over a year, have I? {puts phone away and crosses arms} I suppose it's not technically on Broadway, but I'd probably pick Penelope from Epic: the Musical! Epic is one of my four favourite musicals ever, and that's saying something since it's the only one of the four without a stage release! Penelope's such a cool and strong character, and I adore her defining song The Challenge. It's really fun to sing, and I've used it as a benchmark for my singing skills ever since I first heard it three years ago! If I had to pick a Broadway show, though… {pauses to think} It's a tricky question, because most of my favourite shows have such talented casts that I never even imagined being in their roles! Maybe Zoey from Dear Evan Hansen or Nina from In the Heights! Both have songs that I love, and I relate to the perfectionism and pressure that they feel!
LUNA: {sighs} Oh, how I miss my Broadway phase…I still need to listen to Epic. I’ve just been so busy that I keep forgetting! And oh my gosh, I love Dear Evan Hansen and In the Heights. I was thinking I’d fit in best in either Dear Evan Hansen or Hadestown!
WARI: {nods excitedly} I thought about Hadestown as well, but I can't sing Eurydice's songs. {laughs, then thoughtful} Except maybe Flowers. {shakes head} But now for my second and final question! We've talked about the present and the past, so how about the future? {jazz hands} What's one thing that we haven't already talked about that you're really looking forward to or that you want to do in the next couple of months? {smiles} I know college is hugely on your mind right now, but is there anything particular in your personal or social life that you're really excited about?
LUNA: Hmm…{pauses to think} I think in terms of the future, like, the short-term future of my last summer as a child, I just kind of want to live a little? You know, do all the things I've been putting off - like the things for myself, whether it's getting back into creative hobbies or spending time with my friends - I just want to have a blast and be able to look back on these few months and regret absolutely nothing. You get what I'm saying?
WARI: {nods} Yeah, that's… {pauses, thinking} that's real. {smiles, staring off into the distance} I mostly relaxed and had fun on my last summer before college, and I don't regret it one bit. {looks back at Luna} It's a big transition, but I know that it'll go great. {claps twice, softly} Well then! I believe that's the last question! And with, {checks watch} two hours to spare! {grins}
WARI: Thank you so much for doing this interview with me, Lunaly! It's been amazing to catch up, and I wish you all the best for college! {smiles} I do have one more short question, if you think you have a few more minutes.
LUNA: {smiles fondly} I do always love doing interviews with you, Warily. And of course, anything for you! Ask away.
WARI: {perks up, clapping hands excitedly} Well. A mutual friend of ours reminded me that I am contractually obligated to ask a certain question of you, so here it is. {pauses dramatically, face solemn} Luna. What is it like being a squirrel?
{CUT TO BLACK}
LUNA: {plops down in a chair, grinning as she waves at Wari} Wari! It really has been way too long. How goes it?

interview with @129waterfall
hi waterfall!! i’m going to put all my questions here for you to answer since i’ll likely be offline when you respond <3 1. some things about yourself? 2. if you weren’t in dystopian, which cabin would you be interested and why? 3. what do you most look forward too? 4. anything of interest you have? 5. if you were to be transported into any world franchise, where would it be and why? ill likely respond in around 10-12 hours if you want any follow up questions, etc! <3
yippee thank you! for question 1, ooo this is a tricky question :0 okay hmm  probably “reboot of amphoreus”? myth is heavily based on the fictional world in hsr called amphoreus, so i think something like a “reboot” of it would make sense because instead of having the characters in hsr be demigods, our campers are! to be fair, i don't really know sobs as i'm not that great with concising storylines </3
2. my music taste is very very all over the place xD i listen to kpop (esp groups such as newjeans and illit), hoyomix (background music/character trailer music from hoyo games which include hsr and genshin impact), and occasionally some pop songs (sabrina carpenter and lady gaga!) i mostly like songs with very good and catchy beats compared to awesome lyrics (which means that if a song has an amazing beat + melody but terrible lyrics, i'll still like the song kjashdkj and i dont really have a strong preference between instrumental and songs with lyrics).
3. 42 ;D i've actually never read the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy but it looks super interesting and fun so maybe ill do it someday :eyes: for a more serious answer, i think it's intellectual knowledge :0 after all, with knowledge, humans can surpass any border. with a great amount of knowledge, time, and dedication, i'm quite confident that us, as a species, will eventually conquer almost any challenge that we face! i'm pretty confident that we'll eventually have settlements on other planets (like mars) and even perhaps other galaxys? :eyes: i probably won't be alive by the time that happens but it is still very interesting to think about!
4. hmmm i don't really have a pattern xD but now that i'm paying more closely attention, perhaps my hobbies? specifically the things i enjoy in my free time! i think it allows the person to know more about me and it also serves as an opening to other conversations about them! afterwards, i'll tell them about my likes/dislikes, etc.!
5. i've mentioned this before heh but mythology is heavily based on amphoreus from hsr! so i imagine the cabin to take place of amphoreus, where instead of characters such as cerydra, hysilens, etc. as demigods, the campers and the (co-leaders) take in as place! of course, there are several differences (such as no trailblazer or astral express coming to save and help) but i still think its very cool nonetheless![]()

Interview with Clev || Daily 3 || 975 words
Chuey: I'm excited too! About me… hm, well, I'm an aspiring writer, and I also like art and music a lot. In fact, most of my hobbies lean creative in some way — it's my favorite way to express myself. This is my tenth session of SWC, which is kind of neat! I enjoy baking a lot, and lately I've been trying to learn Blender, which is a 3D modeling software. Incidentally, the beginner tutorial I'm using has me making a donut, so… more fun with baked goods! I tend to go off on tangents and get sidetracked really easily, which you can probably already tell haha. Some other random things about me are that I'm homeschooled, I take martial arts, I want to get into theater, and I unashamedly sing in the shower at the top of my lungs
I'm both a hoarder and a stacker, so sometimes my room is less aesthetic-cutesy than a billion books piled on the floor, laundry on the chair, and random piles of junk everywhere lol. And to top it all off I'm a wanna-be plant mom — I have an aloe vera that's only a little dead, a couple of thriving air plants, and three extremely dead succulents on my windowsill (oops). Outside, I have more succulents (surprise!), and I'm also hoping to get a rose bush soon. And this is probably the most scattered introduction I've ever written, but oh well. Anyways, how about you, Clev? How would you describe yourself or your interests?
Chuey: Ooh, band sounds so cool! And good luck with your audition <33 I agree, it does sound like a lot of fun! I'll also admit that Blender is pretty confusing and overwhelming at first, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon
I do mixed martial arts! I love it because it means we get to do a little bit of everything — boxing, wrestling, and self defense are the main areas we focus on. As for writing, I love fantasy and sci-fi, but I've dabbled in pretty much everything. Real-fi is another one I enjoy, and I've even tentatively dipped a toe into rom-com, although it was heavy on the comedy XD Most of what I write is fiction, but nonfiction can also be pretty fun, especially if I get to write about a topic that interests me. I would say there's really only one genre that I usually avoid, and that would be fanfiction. I rarely read it (although I do love a good one), and I'm unfortunately not very good at adapting other people's creations to my own writing style. Pretty much the only time I ever write fan-fi is when I'm entering the SWC writing contest lol. Do you like listening to music? If so, what are some of your favorite artists or genres to listen to?
Chuey: I will be honest and say that I don't really read romance as a genre on its own; most of the romance I've consumed has been mixed in with fantasy or sci-fi, as those are the main genres I read. I'm pretty sure one of my friends really likes this book called To All the Boys I've Loved Before, though, so I might have to check it out at some point. (Why did I attempt to write a rom-com when I don't even read the genre? Unsure. My brain decided it would be fun for some reason, which it was lol. Maybe this is my sign to pick up a rom-com next time I go to the library.) I did read that fanfiction!! I've only heard summaries of the plot but your piece was extremely funny >
My music taste is really scattered and random right now (and always has been) — I tend to gravitate more towards styles of music than specific artists. I actually used to be pretty into heavy metal/rock lol, and I still have my favorites in that genre. However, I've also branched out more into pop, which I sometimes love and sometimes can't stand. I like a few of the songs from Olivia Rodrigo's new album, actually — I haven't listened to the entire thing, just a couple my friend recommended to me, but I like the style (especially the intro to Expectations.) I listen to Laufey sometimes because I like how her music makes a good chill background soundtrack, and I also really like movie soundtracks! And speaking of movies, I do indeed have some favorites
My absolute favorite movie ever has to go to The Emperor's New Groove, which is my ultimate comfort movie. The humor is wacky and wild and I love it so much (and it's immensely quotable). I also really like Lilo and Stitch (the animated version, NOT live action), and I adore Enchanted for its satirical fairy tale take and playful mockery of Disney princess movies. Other movies I love watching are The Princess Bride, Howl's Moving Castle, and Into the Spiderverse!! And an honorable mention goes to the Pride and Prejudice miniseries, which is technically not a movie but still an excellent adaptation and another long-time favorite. OH, and speaking of adaptations, I have to give another honorable mention to Project Hail Mary! I've only seen it once, but I absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to read the book. What are some of your favorite movies? How about books?
Oh, and I missed the question about how I get my ideas </3 But the answer is usually: I have no freaking idea LOL. Sometimes I'll read or watch a piece of media that inspires me, but other times I'll just get a random idea and go “hey, that sounds cool!” Probably the most important thing to keep in mind for fantasy is that you can get ideas from literally anything, no matter how silly or mundane.

How would you describe yourself or your interests?Chuey: Ooh, band sounds so cool!
If so, what are some of your favorite artists or genres to listen to?Chuey: I will be honest and say that I don't really read romance as a genre on its own; most of the romance I've consumed has been mixed in with fantasy or sci-fi, as those are the main genres I read.
How about books?Oh, and I missed the question about how I get my ideas </3 But the answer is usually: I have no freaking idea LOL. Sometimes I'll read or watch a piece of media that inspires me, but other times I'll just get a random idea and go “hey, that sounds cool!” Probably the most important thing to keep in mind for fantasy is that you can get ideas from literally anything, no matter how silly or mundane.

SWC Megathread ‧₊˚❀༉‧ July 2026
You’ve spent some time getting to know the people from your own cabin, but how about the people from others? Today, you’ll get to know someone from another cabin through an interview. Ask (and answer!) away, learn more about someone you don’t know as well, and make a new friend! Make sure you write 450 words of your interview for 500 points with an extra 150 points for sharing proof.
WILD: Hello, Aurora! Thank you for agreeing to do this interview with me. First things first, describe your experience with SWC. What roles do you play within the camp?
AURORA: It’s great to be here
I’ve been participating in SWC for every session since November 2022! Most sessions I participate as a camper, but every now and then I participate as a co-leader, including this session, where I’m co-leading Fantasy! I haven’t taken any role past that, however- while I do hope to formally lead a cabin one day, I haven’t taken too much interest in being a part of the polar bears or the MBC X3 especially now with college breathing down my neck. What roles have you had during your SWC experience?
WILD: Ooh, exciting– if you ever were to lead a cabin, I'd love to be a part of it! I've only ever co-led once, and to be honest, I found it a bit overwhelming. I might try again someday, but for now, I'm more than happy to simply be a camper. I've participated in every session since March 2022 (long live the Boxes!), and this camp has become a big part of my life. It's helped me improve my writing, develop my characters, and motivate me to actually work on things– Sometimes, I look back at how far I've come and am amazed by the progress I've made due to SWC. What would you say is the biggest impact that SWC has had on you?
AURORA: Honestly, the biggest impact SWC has made on me is the community! I’ve been in a few large communities before, and they’re usually riddled with drama and problems, but SWC is always so friendly and positive and brings people together! I’m not as big of a writer as others might be, but I’ve never felt brought down by it- and every session brings me to both meet new people and bond with those I’ve already met which is such a wonderful experience! Even something as small as being recognized on camper signups makes me so happy and makes me feel like I do have an impact without being a major leader or an agent of chaos, haha
What’s the biggest impact SWC has had on you?
WILD: You're so right, the community here is just the best– I love how it manages to be both supportive and competitive, welcoming new members but also having plenty of inside jokes for us old people, er, I mean, long-time members!
I think motivation has been SWC's greatest gift for me. Being surrounded by so much enthusiasm is always inspiring, and there's always someone there to give advice or support when needed. The daily/weekly prompts help encourage me to think outside my comfort zone, with deadlines that provide enough pressure to create thrilling speedruns without being too stressful. I don't really write much outside of SWC, as writing is one of those things that I feel I need a dedicated place for… and SWC is that place for me. ^^ What are your favorite topics to write about?

AURORA: I’m the same way- I love to write but I only have the motivation to do so during SWC! I love to write about my OCs- they’re what motivate me to write, really
I have tons of them so I don’t ever run out of ideas, and it just makes me really happy to explore their backstories, even if nobody reads them X3 On that end, I absolutely adore fantasy writing- magic and creatures and just the overall whimsy of fantasy makes me happy- I love to read it, I love to write it, and all of my characters (+) are fantastical in some way! What are your favorite topics/genres to write about? Also I must ask- how do you manage to perfect the art of last-minute dailies? XD
WILD: I'm the same way with my OCs! I love delving into their personalities and stories so much that they really do feel real to me. And I also adore worldbuilding– I don't care if the details never make it into the final product, ALL CONTEXT MUST EXIST. I'm not as good at plotlines; stuff always just sorta… happens. It's not always very organized, but then, I suppose real life isn't, either. Sci-fi and fantasy are my favorite genres to write; I particularly love taking fantastical premises and giving them sci-fi justifications. Speculative biology is something I especially love to explore! As for your question about last-minuteness, well, I'd answer that, but I have to turn this in first, as there are only 2 minutes left xD

His grandmother tells him to be patient. His grandfather tells him he's too selfish. But Oliver didn't, wouldn't listen. He didn't care. The whole world felt against him, and he felt so, so alone. He shed tears in his room as he watched the clock go round and round, second after second, minute after minuet. Hour after hour. It felt like days, as he waited for someone to come in and give him some sympathy. But no one came. No one cared, he thought. No one noticed, he thought. Tears streamed down his eyes and his eyes glanced hungrily at the pillow. Oliver punched it. He punched it hard. The pillow still stayed unbroken. Oliver punched and punched and punched until his hand felt sore and raw. But the pillow was still unbroken. It lay there, smugly. Oliver slumped onto his bed as he thought about what happened today. Word War with @tigeress_
13 words, no prompt, five minutes, lost
Note: This is me working on part 2 of the weekly
The world of Vira is a vibrant and interesting world suspended in air. The world is split up into many sections of floating rock, but the biggest section is in the center and the rest simply float around it. The center island is named Heila and is the Capital City.
This Island has the most traffic and highest population, with the monarch residing there. Currently, the Monarch is a man named Jao, and he is generally well respected- surprising for his young age of twenty four.
There are many mythical beasts that reside in Vira, including the ageless Kioma, close in appearance to the Jellyfish you have on your land. They float in the air, calmly drifting along. Many people use them for transportation.
Water is a constant in Heila, with seemingly never ending waterfalls with no obvious source for where they come from. The waterfalls stream until they reach the edge of an island, where at, they simply fall forever into the galaxy. Light comes from the trees in Heila, and you

Word War against Sky || 8 minutes || 371 words || The end stuff in brackets doesn't count. My timer went off but I wanted to finish the sentence
“Goodbye! You better not come back without that treasure!”
The door was shut. The three were off. Persimmon hesitantly made it down the stairs. Ambrose and Kat followed, though the latter was rather impatient.
“Get it moving, already!” She grumbled, giving them a shove. Persimmon, already unstable due to their enormously misproportionate wings, stumbled, then falling down the stairs. Ambrose watched in horror as he saw them roll down every step, and land uncomfortably on their left wing.
“Dude, what was that for?” He then asked Kat, who simply scoffed in response.
“It’s what they get for being slow.” She unsheathed her claws a bit out of frustration, but quickly retracted them. She then took the rest of the steps down, walking right past her injured teammate, and aiming right for the ship they were bound to live on for the next several days. Ambrose floated down, stopping in front of Persimmon.
“You, uh… good?”
Persimmon looked up at him. “Oh, yeah. Sorta. As best as I can be after falling down a flight of stairs!” They got back up onto their feet slowly, brushing off some sand. They tried to laugh off the whole situation, though they still definitely had some negative feelings for this supposed team mate they’d already hated as a co-worker. Though they didn’t act upon anything, and made their way to the ship. Ambrose followed close behind.
As they reached the ship, Kat had already pounced onto the deck. Ambrose floated up as he usually did with any challenge like this. And Persimmon was left struggling at the bottom. Every time they attempted to move up a step on the ladder, they stumble back and end up on the sand.
“You need help?” Ambrose offered. Kat simply sat at the wheel, impatient for them to get up.
At first, Persimmon tried to ignore his offer, wanting to keep some sort of dignity. Though after a few more failed attempts that got them no closer, they gave in. “…yes please.”
The ship had gone off the dock, and now all the trio could really do was to talk to one another and ensure they wouldn’t run into enemy ships.
“You can call me Captain Persy!” Persimmon said, (putting on a comically large captain’s hat)
“I owe you an explanation, don’t I?” Iona sighed, as her parents scrutinised the letter she’d written to them, explaining her decision to drop out of medical school. It wasn’t an easy one for Iona to make - to throw away three years of hard work - but she’d realised that while she would like to follow her mother into the medical field, she didn’t want to do it as a doctor. The workload and the reality of the job was simply just not what she thought it would be, even after she’d spent hours shadowing people and studying, absolutely sure this was the right path for her to go down.
“Iona, it’s okay,” her mother said. “I still love you either way, whether you end up becoming a doctor or not.” Iona smiled at that.
“I know, and I’m really sorry that I’ve just decided to throw away all this hard work that I’m paying for, and I know I’m getting myself into even more debt…” Iona began, trying to explain.
“We told you that when you applied to university, you should follow your heart,” her mother replied. “Our legacy - my legacy - does not determine what you’ll do in life. Just because I am successful doctor and now current health secretary doesn’t mean that you should also be a doctor. Everyone expects things of you, but what truly matters is that you find a job and a career that you can truly dedicate yourself to.”
Iona felt happier hearing those words - that her mother was okay with her dropping out of medical school. She remembered hearing similar things from Erin and Luna and Artemis’s parents before as well: don’t let our legacies hang over you. Erin’s parents were both high-ranking police officers, but Erin chose to work as a paramedic. Luna chose to follow her heart into medicine, while Artemis chose to do something wildly different and become a lawyer. Perhaps there would be something out there that Iona loved.

They say home is where the heart is.. but I left mine in our old apartment.
My home is wherever you are. Wherever the world is. Wherever I feel safe. Unfortunately, that's not really anywhere these days.
Instead I'm stuck in this not-home with my fridge. Wanna guess what kind of things my fridge has in it?
It's got celery, onions, garlic, bread, bagels, carrots, peas, soup, onions, meat, beef, carrot sticks, onion sticks, beef jerky, cow jerky, pig jerky, deer jerky, every other kind of jerky, mattresses, and more onions.
Ain't that wonderful? I know. So wonderful. I'm so impressed by the things my fridge has in it. So many delicious things.
But I still don't feel at home, because I don't feel safe.
There are always thieves breaking into our apartment… ugh. Thieves. I HATE thieves. Always stealing stuff and eating stuff and breaking stuff.
Plus, you're at our old apartment. You're not here. So I can't be at home. That just wouldn't make sense.
Home is where the heart is… any my hwest lives with you. So my home is with you, too.
My home is at our old apartment. So far away from here. I wish I was there. But instead I'm here, with my fridge, and my cats. I love my cats, but I love you just the tiniest bit more.
My cats are Beans and Socks. Terribly common names, but adorable nonetheless.
So cute. I love them. But I'm still not at home, because you
