Yeah I heard that Scratch is sponsored by Lego and that's the reason they have the Lego extensions. Is that true? I mean to use the extensions you need Lego so they are promoting buying Lego..

I mean your analogy so explains the Translate extension (Google), the Text-to-Speech extension (AWS/Amazon) and that accounts are somewhat encrypted (Fastly), but some of the money they pay isn't just to keep these additions; they also contribute to the development of other parts of the website.

Have you tried changing the site's permission to allow the camera? If that doesn't work, maybe your browser is blocked from accessing the camera by an antivirus?
