Like, could I make a project about Joseph Stalin and the USSR, or Mao Zedong, and his Great Leap Forward?
From a neutral standpoint, not saying I think he's good or bad, just from a historical standpoint.

The general rule is that such projects are okay if there is a clear educational/historical context used in the project. Any other context, you'd be walking on thin ice.

true, but i think it's okay if you're doing it for educational purposes like za-chary said. it's honestly good to know about the bad things that happened throughout history so we don't repeat them. as long as you're not showing it in a positive light and acknowledging that it is bad, just teaching others, i think it's okay
plus we all have to learn about it in school anyway lol

this looks great honestly, it's super educational and even explains why the things they did were… not so great, so i think this would be perfectly fine! even taught me some things i didn't know, i think it's pretty cool
you definitely showed your good intentions well with this so i don't see why it should be taken down
