Update: It's not only the unshared projects that have this bug, it's also the SHARED ones. I've been waiting for A WEEK and yet my friends' projects are STILL corrupted. This is gonna be so hard working on mods. EVEN THE AUDIO TOO.

I tried to fix the sb3 on a fix site, but that doesn't work. I guess everyone's projects are corrupted, forever.
At least they fixed my time tracker though.

Both my public Scratch of Death project and the project that's the next update for it have been affected by these gray question marks.
What really annoyed me was that it was ONLY those projects, not even ones that had more things in them that could cause issues like this to occur.

I'm praying this is just a simple server bug, and not something that could permanently affect our games.

I'm working on a shooter/tower defense project and this glitch seems to target random costumes. I've tried replacing them, but there are still two costumes I'm worried about. Even the project's backup was affected by this glitch.

My game Slash In https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/690438918/ and its mod Slash King https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1195108583/ have suffered the same issue too, along with a private project that I used to store unused sprites for these games when I tried updating them today. Every time I reload them, no matter which device, the same costumes are corrupted every time. Even some of the music sound tracks got corrupted, the code has remained fine though.

I forgot a description sorry:
For Slash In the costumes that are missing are:
- The title screen
- The random fighter button on the title screen
- The ‘block’ sprite
For Slash King there are more, which makes sense because the project is bigger
- Two of the costumes in the ‘Slash King’ animated text sprite
- A whole bunch of costumes in the Emeny sprite, mainly of the UFO, GOLEM, and troll

I wish the engineers a lot of luck with fixing this, it'd be a shame if so much work was lost.

Now, When I Check The Project, 75% Of All Sprites Have Been Replaced By A Question Mark Inside A Greyish Box. I Don't Have Any Backups Saved To My Computer, Turbowarp Didn't Work, Refreshing Didn't Work, And There Are No Remixes Either. All Of My Copies Of The Game Have The Same Glitch. Any Idea How To Fix It? The Only Options I See Are To Downgrade It To A Previous Version Without The Glitch(Taking Away My 8 Months Of Hard Word) Or Manually Restore All The Sprites(A Lot Of Them Contain Information Hard To Replace.) My Game Does Have A Music Selection Feature, And I've Heard Music Takes Up A Lot Of Space, And That This Glitch Could Be Due To How Big The Project Is. If You Know Any More, Please Do Tell.

Having the same issue.
I checked a few of my unshared projects and they all had sprites replaced with question marks, reloading did not fix it sadly.
It would be a shame to lose any artwork over this, so I hope they can resolve it, and I have tried to contact support already
I don't interact with the social side of Scratch at all but not being able to access some important sprites made me seek out any others having the same issue, glad it's not just me so hopefully a fix can be found.

I hate seeing ?s instead of sprites. I am not going to projects that I think have been affected until further notice.

Most of Sans' costumes are not loading, and the bones are just gone. Here's hoping this gets fixed ASAP.

Same thing has just happend to me. So far, it has happend in only one of my projects with a couple of character sprites and one character bio being deleted. I left the project opened overnight but I never was in the editor, hopefully it's saved on file. Thankfully all the character sprites I already have on file in another project but a character bio is gone. Though I do remember what I wrote for it so it's probably not too hard to remake.

Update 1: Okay nevermind, found more projects on my account that suffer this issue. This time, I've never even touched these them for weeks, some even unshared.

Update 2: Okay, it's getting even worst, I project I checked that was fine five minuetes ago now has that dreaded gray questionmark square. I really hope this gets fixed and is a temporty issue.

WAIT A MINUTE, TURBOWARP NOW HAS STUPID EVIL DREADED QUESTION MARK BUGS?

here's the project of mine currently having the issue: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1289489378/
so here's the specifics I've noticed:
- the issue isn't on a per-project basis. the first remix of this project was made before the assets disappeared, and is now missing the exact same ones.
- the issue can get worse! more sprites have become corrupted compared to the last time I checked on this project
- the issue can get BETTER! I ended up working on a game with this issue and at some point, even though I had saved the project multiple times with the assets missing, they actually came back across all copies of the project.
- the two projects this happened to both have a lot of costumes… but every other project of mine that I've looked at that also has a comparable amount of costumes is unaffected.
- the (unshared) project that had its assets come back says it was last modified in 2023. it.. wasn't, I've been working on it continuously until this year. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the asset issue.

I have the same problem but in a different font. The problem only appears on specific devices.

I have an idea. Maybe try copying your project and see the new copy???

happened to me too im not gonna work on my big projects until the Great Q-Mark outbreak of 2026 is gone

Now there are question marks on turbowarp, Every costumes in scratch is dead.

Question marks are really actually Satan controlling the costumes to turn them into dreaded “?”

Now we used to work on projects, now we no longer due to an outbreak.
