Scratch uses a string called the user agent to determine what your OS or browser is on the forums when you make a new post in Bugs and Glitches. However, there are a few problems with this:
1. Windows 10 and 11 use both Windows NT 10.0, so both OSes report as being used on NT 10.0.
2. Many browsers still report as NT 10.0 or other versions of your operating system and lock the OS. For example, Chrome 109 on Windows 7 and 8.x shows as NT 10.0, despite being a different version, and later versions of macOS might show as macOS Catalina.
3. “Request Desktop Site” on mobile (or something similar on your browser) will make Scratch show a desktop OS instead. This can include saying that you're on desktop Linux when you're on Android Linux or macOS when you're on iOS/iPadOS. Also, please turn this off before making a topic so that people can tell what OS you're actually using.
4. Many browsers might be based on other browsers. For example, Edge has Chrome in its user agent as well because both Chrome and Edge are based on Chromium, so Scratch will say that you're using Chrome when you're on Edge.

I also recommend changing it to your actual OS and browser. Here's a few methods of finding your OS version as well:
Chromium based browsers and Firefox based browsers:
1. Enter chrome://version if you're on a Chromium based browser and about:support if you are on a Firefox based browser
2. The OS should show under “OS.” For instance, mine is like “Windows 7 (Build {whatever build})” and “Windows_NT 6.1 7601”
Windows:
1. Press the Windows key and R key at the same time. A run dialog should show up.
2. Enter “winver” into the text field in the run dialog
Mac (OS X/macOS/Mac OS X):
1. Click the Apple logo on the top left corner
2. Click “About This Mac”

Some misconceptions:
NT is still used in Windows operating systems, which is included in the operating system's internal name. This includes Windows 2000 (NT 5.0), Windows XP (NT 5.1), Windows Vista (NT 6.0), Windows 7 (NT 6.1), Windows 8 (NT 6.2), Windows 8.1 (NT 6.3), and Windows 10 and 11 (NT 10.0). Many people see “NT 10.0” or “NT {insert here}” and think the OS has to be vintage because the last OS to actually use “NT” in the final release name was Windows NT 4.0 (released in 1996), but this isn't the case.

Windows NT 10.0 is technically correct for Windows 11. Windows NT 10.0 doesn't necessarily mean Windows 10. In fact, Windows 11 still uses the 10.0.{insert something}.{insert something else} format for its versioning

Yea, I see posts about this often like “why does it say nt 10.0,” “i'm on windows 11 not 10,” “why are you using windows nt” (I'm almost 100% sure they're thinking NT = old because of the NT 4.0 thing), “why does it say macOS I'm on iOS” etc etc etc
I also just wanted to redirect people to this topic so I wouldn't have to type the same thing over and over again. Also, it's a bit annoying having to figure out whether or not someone is using macOS or iOS/iPadOS

Also, according to regedit in Windows 11, it says that it's Windows 10, so that may be another reason.

That's because Windows 11 is pretty much just a worse reskinned Windows 10 and uses the NT 10.0 kernel still.
Also, if you look at the version, you'll notice it's something like 10.0.{something}.{another thing} still

Windows 11 is kind of like a reimagined version of Windows 10, not a new OS. Hence, why it is NT 10.0

Yea it's just a lot of people on the forums think “Windows NT 10.0 = Windows 10” so they think that the forums are saying that they're on windows 10 instead of 11
