Scratch to YouTube problems
Hello, fellow scratchers,
I have a kind of a problem that is frustrating me the last few weeks. The last three projects I made (this one, this one and this one) have many succes (all three were top loved). I'm also earning alot of followers because of that, what is of course really good. But the point is: Scratch is a really small community, and now, I want to go a step further by posting these animations on YouTube.
That's where the problem begins. The first thing I did was searching for a good screen recorder. I've tried almost all available screen recorders on the web like Apowersoft, Camstudio, Screenr, Rylstim, … but none of these worked good. The best one I've tested so far is Bandicam. The recording itself goes perfect and there's a window that is easy to adjust so the Scratch project window fits perfectly in it. My video in .avi format worked fluently and was ready to be posted. But then the struggle started. I was so happy I could finally share it on YouTube, but then, once I shared it, it started to lag. In the beginning of the it, the video lags, but the audio does not. That makes the audio not being synchrone to the video. I have this problem with any Bandicam video of a Scratch project I upload. I really don't know what to do anymore
I've been thinking of remaking my projects in Windows Movie Maker, but that costs alot of time and effort and above all, Movie Maker is still one of the baddest video editing programs ever.
I have really no idea what to do now, I beg you to help me. Please, it would mean so much to me if I could share at least one of my three projects on YouTube. That would really make my day.
I only need to know an answer on these questions:
- Why does my video start to lag once I share it on YouTube? (maybe because it changes from .avi to another format?)
- Are there any other high quality screen recorders which I can use?
- If somebody has the opportunity to capture one of the three projects, can that person please do that for me?
Please, you can make de difference,
Greetings,
VANOBRAS

Lag is normal for YouTube videos. Try reloading your browser.
Also, please don't share email addresses.

lag is extremely normal just refresh or check if somethings wrong with your router
and TakeScreen is pretty good for that
Also I'm a very big fan of you and can't wait for your next theory!

TakeScraeen won't record the sound. Maybe you can take a look at the first post, I've made a link to the Bandicam video there.AnytimeThanks for helping me! lag is extremely normal just refresh or check if somethings wrong with your router

In case you still want a screen recorder, there are a few JARs out there that are basically just experimental screen recorders that someone happened to make. The best part about it? There isn't even any watermark! I especially recommend those.

Scratch to YouTube problems
I've made a few almost perfectly synced audio visualizers (you can actually click my two link pictures after the one to my website in my signature) by making the project in Scratch, using Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 (trial though, so it won't record for more than 10 minutes… that shouldn't be a problem though), then I export it to Windows Live Movie Maker and add the music there… one thing I've noticed is that I can't have many applications going or the screen recorder will cause Scratch to lag. I have to sometimes do a few runs with it, not quite sure exactly what is the key to success in getting it not to lag, but usually I can tell whether it's working or not based off of the first few seconds and then I can close more programs, save my Scratch project again, or do random things and it works again (idk xD)…
Once it does start working, though, it never has messed up and started to lag again.
I notice that your video speed is constant throughout the video, so are you sure you're not starting the screen recording before starting the project? If so, then I would suggest switching to the microsoft encoder…
Anyway, it won't have an annoying “bandicam.com” text thing at the top.
Oh, and camstudio… I suggest you remove the link to that. It's… very sketchy. Half the people who download it seem to get a virus of some nature from it.

Camstudio is great, but people click those ads that say “Download now!” and get malware. I've tried many screen recorders in the past, and I agree that Bandicam is the best recorder.
