lol I've been on scratch for almost 12 years and I never been front paged nor trending.

Anyway, are we in agreement that SMP is somwhat a problem?
maybe that's luck? i mean you don't have to worry about random people i guess? (like griffpatch's comments)
edit: i dunno again this topic is when i first heard of the SMP
You're saying that the featured projects appearing when there's a new Scratch Team studio being all SMP is just a coincidence?

yeah so am I. 3:49 am here.

Yep.
By the way, I’ll be heading off for bed momentarily, so I won’t be able to respond to anything here until morning.

Honestly, I kind of agree with this. I mean I don't exactly agree with disbanding the program, but yeah they all kind of seem a bit fame farming to me… I mean is it just me guys?

No offense to anyone, I'm just saying my perspective.

Yeah that's the point of this suggestion. I doubt they would remove it because they created it and probably have some bias

I don’t think that any of you saw my post yesterday. It’s kind of important to the discussion (not to be rude or anything):

Look at like every SMP members profile. I feel like blackcow wouldn't be lying and maybe has seen examples of this (the profile isn't really bragging)
Oh yes; I’ve seen many examples. Especially what I’m about to tell you.
I was kind of forgotten when I attempted to join SWEMA (the SMP-led Scratch News), yet other SMP members joined fairly quickly. I had to ask multiple times if I was accepted before I even received a response, while the SMP members got in without any issues.

Note that everything below here was not in my original post.
So, that just shows that some people are catering to the SMP members much more.
Also, I was told one time when I tried to join a studio that, “you’re not in the SMP, so we can’t trust you,” even when I follow the instructions for joining correctly (and nowhere did it say that only SMP members are allowed,) I still get rejected.
Because the SMP exists, people are putting their trust in them, rather than the people that are trying to get support.

My other issue with it is the fact that the Scratch Team chooses those people and then those people have bragging rights, like “we can do better than you,” or, “the Scratch Team chose us; you can’t make good enough projects.”
Do you feel that these same issues were present with the Front Page Curator (FPC) program back when it was available? Or with the current Scratch Design Studio (SDS) implementation? If not, what do you think the FPC program and SDS do differently that makes Scratch Team-chosen people okay in contrast with the SMP?

I never actually saw the FPC in action, but by reading the article, I’d say that it was probably a tad better than the current stuff (SMP, SDS, etc.)
