Hello, this is scheeep. You've probably seen me before if you were around during the earlier days of Appel. I'm not really into the “difficult level grinder” type approach to Appel (I moreso enjoy creating levels, the current difficulty standards simply isn't feasible for me anymore), but I do like to check in with the community once every while. I had a look at GMZ, and woah, the spreadsheet and website look amazing! I like how clean the site looks, and the spreadsheet is very handy (bless CTRL+F).
What was going to say next? Oh right, Double Hockeysticks. I was actually in a pretty bad mood today, but reading people's crashouts on this random level I made several years ago amused me so much it made my day lol. I honestly consider it an honor that my level was able to evoke such visceral fury from more than one person, especially given that it wasn't even my intent to make an unfun experience. Though to be fair, the level pack is called “Frustratingly Unfair” and the level is themed around hell. Now I'm kind of inspired to capture that feeling again (though it won't be as funny the second time round), though I am satisfied knowing that I have accidentally created the Appel equivalent of Square Adventure.
Anyways. I can see how many people have cleared each level on the list and how many hard levels people have cleared, and I'm very impressed. It's incredible how much the game's community has grown, from the early days, to Absurd Appel, AHLL:E, and now the GMZ. The level preview thing on the GMZ site is especially cool, and another thing that really wowed me was how organized the spreadsheet was. This is the power of games with level editors: the community runs the game. I'm sure the GMZ is not the final stage of Appel, and the community will evolve even more in the future (assuming Scratch itself doesn't do a massive screw-up to the site in the future).
I don't think I will ever know or understand what it is about my levels that cwktao seems to like

Opinions regarding the Unverified Zone and GMZ in general:
1. there should be a column for the link to the TAS(if any) in the Unverified Zone
2. GMZ Info page: “… As with everything else in the extended lists, these levels are not sorted by difficulty but rather by quality. The reason is that none of these levels have been beaten by a human, which makes any opinions of level difficulty unreliable. Additionally, we want to highlight the most well made levels, and it is by far easier to make a level and not have to verify it.”
Nope, it is still ranked by difficulty. some stellar levels are at bottom and some basic levels are at top(reach for the summit)
@mods you should fix this because that's not true now

Opinions regarding the Unverified Zone and GMZ in general:Reach for the summit is below Solar abyss because they are both gm5, and solar abyss is higher quality. Your example is not true.

I am sad to announce that the ALDR will be archived and depreciated sometime this summer.
The ALDR was originally created to be a replacement for the AHLL:E as it failed, but since then, other Appel related lists have improved on its formula, and ultimately became better levels lists. The ALDR is slowly becoming less and less useful, and, to be honest, it wasn't really the best idea to make a general level list for all levels and try to accurately rank them.
The ALDR will be partially replaced by a new level website, the Appel Workshop. It will let users upload their own levels, rate their difficulty and quality, sort based on the best levels, and submit completions for these levels. This is NOT going to be a competitive levels list like the ALDR was (GMZ already fits that niche), it will be a website to find new Appel levels and help each other out with feedback, difficulty ratings, and more.
The ALDR will still be taking completions until it is depreciated, but you should probably submit completions to the GMZ instead. The ALDR will be permanently archived, along with its server, later this summer (probably around late June).
