How do I transfer all my projects to another account if I have thousands of them?

If you're looking for a way to transfer all your projects to another account then you have to download all of them onto your device then on your new account load those files from you device onto the project.

Can I do it automatically or do I have to transfer all 1942 projects manually?
I wonder if my scratcher status will offer me any safety

i think you have to do it manually

wait, doesnt the gdpr have a thing where websites are legally required to give the user data dumps on request?

The GDPR does say

European Union wrote:

The data subject shall have the right to receive the personal data concerning him or her, which he or she has provided to a controller, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data have been provided, where:
the processing is based on consent pursuant to point (a) of Article 6(1) or point (a) of Article 9(2) or on a contract pursuant to point (b) of Article 6(1); and
the processing is carried out by automated means.
but it also says

European Union wrote:

For the purposes of this Regulation:

‘personal data’ means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;
I don't think Scratch projects would fall under that definition of ‘personal data’.

I think i'm safe for now but i'm not sure if the user that opened the class is still active to close it
Hopefully I don't get deleted

i would be careful. my understanding is the scratch team could close your account at any time, not just the teacher. i'm guessing all of the warnings about student accounts on the site are because the scratch team is planning something.

That seems really bad, if they're deleting student accounts willy nilly then that's really dangerous for me and now I'm scared

they might be planning to replace the student account system with another site or something

schools.scratch.org existed for a bit* and there was a topic someone made about it
*technically the domain still exists, it just returns 404s. but it DOES exist

Scratch for Schools (schools.scratch.org) is apparently now part of Experience CS/Code Editor for Education, according to (Hello World):

Raspberry Pi Foundation wrote:

Another early priority was student safety.
Experience CS includes a school‑safe
version of Scratch that is built directly into
the Code Editor for Education. This version
removes public sharing features and works
within a closed classroom environment
managed by the teacher.
Students can focus on creating and
experimenting without distractions, while
educators can set up classes, manage
accounts, and view student work in one
place. No student email addresses are
required, and safeguarding concerns are
kept firmly in mind.

Yes, pretty sure my state does too but the Scratch Team Contact Us employee (No, i am NOT calling it help center) literally asked me if I just wanted “my last 10 projects” like dawg what i can do that manually but I have thousands.

Anyways, me and another Scratcher have been working on an app that does exactly this, but it's not finished. It works completely fine, it's just it needs some polishing around the edges and we need to complete distribution so it's easier to download. Here's the link: https://github.com/silent-this-sonder/sb3-bulk-downloader

You need python and pip install requests and customtkinter.

hey it's mr shameless plugs

I am that other Scratcher lol, and if you want one less dependency all you really need is the Python interpreter, the requests library, and scratchattach. customtkinter is only there for the fancy GUI, so you don't actually need it if you just need to download projects fast; you can just run main.py.

To OP: if you give us like a week or two the project will be ready for public use and you don't have to worry about any of the above stuff, you can just use it like any normal app and download all your projects.
