It really depends how you say it.
For example if I say “How did I die?” in like a gaming content your fine
But in your case it may seem like you're saying it in a bad way.

You can as long as it isn't being used to insult or attack someone (I.e. “go die bruh”)

Yes, as long as it’s in an appropriate manner. “My pet/relative/friend died” or “studio activity died” are okay, but not “you should go die”.
