Scratch 4.0

Scratch 4.0 is coming, and I can prove it:

You would have to consider the timeline.
Scratch 0.1: 2003
Scratch 1.0: 2007
Scratch 1.4: 2009
Scratch 2.0: 2013
Scratch 3.0: 2019
Scratch 4.0: 2026?

Some people say it will not come out anytime soon
Their wrong
If <(correct ::sensing)=true> then
haha ::events
else
noooooooo ::events
Thank you for your time

just because a major scratch version came out every 6 years doesn't mean that scratch 4.0 will release 6 years after scratch 3.0. in fact it's been 7 years since 3.0 released now (god i'm old)
also scratch 1.4 isn't a major version of scratch and typically people exclude scratch 0.1
the 6 year gap between versions is just sheer coincidence, if you actually looked into it scratch 2.0 has been developed as early as september 2009 and scratch 3.0 has been developed as early as 2016

Yall, I can't help but feel like all the student account messages about student accounts being deleted has something to do with Scratch 4.0… I just can't put my finger on it… Does this mean we're getting a reworking of that stuff? That would be interesting to see.

Same! Strange about them JUST NOW making all the info about student accounts, so I seem like this is strange.

If Scratch 4.0 releases and forces me to use any singular AI feature, I'm beginning my villain arc.

I think everyone isn't understanding the “AI.” This isn't going to be a vibe-coding situation. It is going to be an AI that is designed to let users learn and grow, and it might help make sprites in vector.

the scratch ai is specifically designed to help you figure out what's wrong with your code, like a tutor trying to help you with mistakes. it won't actually do the work for you, the whole point of scratch is so you can learn how to program
not sure about the vector part though

Why are we behaving like we know anything about the AI

Specifically the AI 8 months ago. Lots has changed since then.

That would be ideal. Personally, vector is hard to draw and make sprites in.

That's the point. We know stuff has changed, but we don't know what the changes are in much detail.

If by native, you mean electron based, then yes. I'd say there is also a decent chance that tooling like Claude may help us turn it into a fully native app.
