Scratch is bugging out for no reason
The ai said: ased on reports from early 2026, Scratch users have been experiencing several technical issues and server-side problems. Here is a summary of the reported problems as of January/February 2026:
Server and Loading Issues: Users have reported that the main Scratch site is slow, with long loading times for pages and projects. Some users have experienced the site acting “buggy,” with elements like messages and profile buttons failing to load or disappearing.
Cloud Variable Failures: There are active reports that cloud variables have been inconsistent or down, affecting projects that rely on them.
Bugs in Project Editor: Some users are encountering bugs where projects fail to save or load properly, often requiring a page refresh to fix.
“New Scratcher” Misbehavior: Reports indicate a bug where “New Scratchers” (new accounts) are seeing, but not properly utilizing, cloud variable blocks in remixed projects, which can lead to confusion.
General Performance: There are ongoing discussions about the platform's stability, with some users noticing these issues stemming from late 2025.
Contextual Information for 2026:
Future Updates: Discussions in late 2025/early 2026 mention that a potential “Scratch 4.0” is in development, though a release date is not firmly set for 2026.
No Shutdown: Despite rumors, there is no evidence that Scratch is shutting down; the team is currently working on improvements.

Scratch is bugging out for no reason
Scratch needs to upgrade to 4.0 and fixing thatserver lag has nothing to do with the version of the site, but with the server itself. scratch's servers are really old and the ST doesn't have the budget to upgrade them, leaving them prone to ddos attacks and the like.
