Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
(#20)Version 12.1.0.141 has been added to GitHub. It is a minor improvement that allows for more flexible arguments on the developer's side.
After development finishes on LuckodeX 12.1.1 (Equinox), development will go straight to LuckodeX 13.0.0 (Juno). At this time I'm estimating a release for around September/October at the latest, potentially later if school were to get in the way especially since September will be the time of my GSCE's and BTEC's and whatnot.

Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
Notice: As of developer version v13.0.0.6, LuckodeX no longer provides backwards compatibility with the following:
- SB2 files/Scratch 2.0 projects
- LUCKODE files/Luckode 1.0 to 8.0 projects
- LPR files/Luckode 9.0 to 12.0 projects

Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
As of v13.0.0.16:
- The ‘advanced mathematics’ blocks (the area/perimeter blocks that were clumped together at the bottom of the Operators/Mathematics category in Luckode Neptune and Luckode Equinox) are now toggleable, similar to the Motor blocks. When toggled on, they appear as a separate sub-category at the bottom of the Mathematics category, and have a dark green colour.
- Most of the Sensing blocks have been readded
- Some of the Files blocks have been readded
- The ‘delete file’ and ‘clear file’ blocks now have a warning icon attached to them. If you hover over the icon, a tooltip will come up saying “Use with caution.”
- The ‘About Luckode’, ‘About Scratch’ and ‘Legal’ dialogs have merged and are now a part of the ‘About’ section in the Preferences menu
- POSSIBLY higher quality sounds?
- Dropdown variants of some, but not all, similar blocks have been added

Since I don't want to clog up this forum with pretty minor updates I'll stop doing these but what's new in v13.0.0.17:
- new type of argument (multiline string)
- other blocks, like the ‘open url’, ‘search for’, ‘run Squeak code’ and ‘result of Squeak code’ now have the warning icon
([multiline] :: #8dc213)
(line (1) of [multiline] :: #8dc213)
(lines in [multiline] :: #8dc213)
run Squeak code [multiline] :: #5c2fc4
(result of Squeak code [multiline] :: #5c2fc4)

Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
Okay so pretty major updates have happened between v13.0.0.17 and v13.0.0.24, I will be listing updates one final time and then I'll be keeping things secret
Realistically all I need to do now is readd the file blocks from v12.0.3.31 and then actual work on Luckode Juno can begin
- 24 out of 25 pen blocks in Luckode Equinox (v12.0.3.31) have been reimplemented into LuckodeX. Additionally 7 extra dropdown variants of certain pen blocks were added
- Rudimentary compatibility with LTV2008's mod, CrimsonNet, has been readded

If all goes well I'll be able to release a “release preview” of Luckode Juno by mid-to-late April
There's genuinely some cool stuff that I don't think any Scratch 1.4 mod has done before in this version (hell, probably even any Scratch mod) that I wanna share but you'll see once it comes out

Luckode Juno Release Preview 1
Luckode Juno release preview 1 will come out on available platforms on April 22nd, 2026.
Added
- Most blocks from Luckode Equinox (v12.0.3.31) have been ported back to Luckode Juno. Some blocks are not available because of differing infrastructures, as Luckode Juno is based on LuckodeX.
- Three new distinct block types have been added: Strings (rectangular), Collections (banner-shaped), and Color (squircle-shaped). String blocks report..well, strings, collection blocks report collections, and color blocks report colors. Collection blocks may only fit in collection shaped arguments (similar to how there's a boolean argument only booleans can fit into) and color arguments can only fit color blocks.
- Compatibility with LTV2008's modification “CrimsonNet” has been readded.
- The Collections sub-category has been added to the Variables category.
- Play rate buttons have been added to the Sound Editor, which allow you to speed up and slow down sounds. This feature should not be used as an effect tool.
- If you press the F1 key while a value of a reporter is being shown, you can copy it to your clipboard.
- The amount of total messages that can show in the message dropdown menu has been bumped from 2,048 messages to about 4.029 billion messages. (The limit was previously bumped from 100 to 2,048 in LuckodeX Equinox)
- Several elements across Luckode have been changed.
- The Mathematics category has been renamed to Math.
- The (join () ()) block now allows you to join more than 2 strings.
- The ‘draw text () at x: () y: () with size: () font: ()’ block has been fixed so that it can support text with multiple lines.
- The About Luckode, About Scratch, and Legal help menu items have been moved to be a part of the Preferences menu.
- Because of differing infrastructure, backwards compatibility with all Luckode versions prior to LuckodeX Equinox v12.1.0.131 has been removed.
- Compatibility with Scratch 2.0 projects have been removed for similar reasons.

Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
Because of a glitch with Windows 11 I might not be able to develop Luckode normally for a while. I've installed a VM of Windows 10 to develop Luckode hopefully until this bug gets fixed
My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0.26200.8117, Chrome 147.0.0.0, Flash 32.0 (release 0)

Update: After installing a Windows update, the bug regarding me not being able to develop Luckode seems to have fixed itself. The installer for Luckode Juno v13.0.0.88 has been compiled and is ready to upload to supported platforms. Work on release preview 2 will begin soon and I'm expecting a release of it for late May at the earliest.

Luckode - The Modern Scratch 1.4 Modification
Figured it would be worth posting changes in the current build of RP2 (as of writing), v13.0.1.9
- Dropdowns now have consistent colours
- Certain sprite dropdowns in blocks were fixed to not contain the “mouse-pointer” option
- The kind of file a project is will now appear on the project title/stage buttons bar
- Changes to the way Luckode saves and opens projects were made. In other words Luckode is now forward-compatible with projects made in later versions of Luckode
- A collection block with a collection input at the end will no longer display large blank spaces
- Working on restoring the old dialog-based about menus
- The play note block has been split into a “play note” and a “play multiple notes” block
- Changes to the green flag and yellow diamond were made

More updates and probably bump (updates as of v13.0.1.27)
- Fixed a bug from all the way back in Scratch 1.x, where trying to close the Squeak VM window while in presentation/fullscreen mode would bring up the default Squeak save and quit menu instead of Scratch/Luckode's save and quit menu
- Fully removed XO mode (XO skins and related code) to save image space and fixed a lot of bugs stemming from that
- Fixed a bug regarding the ‘go to grid x: () grid y: ()’ block in the Motion category
- Fully removed the ‘compatibility lock’

I have discovered a severe bug regarding LuckodeX's backwards compatibility with Scratch 1.4. The bug in question affects how Scratch affects .sb files made with all versions of LuckodeX.

- Streamlined the development process of Luckode by a bit.
- The About Luckode, About Scratch, and Legal help menu items have been split back into their dialog forms and have been removed from the Preferences menu.
- Redesigned the About Luckode dialog.
- Fixed a bug where if you copied the result of a reporter with either the ‘<crlf>’ or ‘<tab>’ marks, it wouldn't replace them with the new line or tab character when copied.

- Updated the Luckode logo.
- Moved two Control blocks to Sensing.
- Updated the look of the resize handle in a multiline string argument.

- If a project contains a block found in the Advanced Math category (which can be toggled on or off), it will be logged when the project is saved, similar to how the Motor blocks are logged.
- Updated NSIS version to v3.12.
- Removed the compatibility lock when you opened a Scratch 0.x or 1.x project.
- Removed the share shortcut button in the menubar whether a Scratch project is opened.
