Dear Storm,

Hello!! Firstly, I feel the need to apologise for the lateness of my response back to you - things have been so incredibly busy, but I’m so sorry! I hope my letter shall be worth the wait? Ahaha ;D I am also so so incredibly excited to be penpals with you, and I cannot wait to learn more about you! I already know you’re an absolutely incredibly cool and sweet person, but I’d love to know you even better <3 i hope i’ll achieve that after reading this letter and writing this back to you, hehe.

The nickname Storm is very cool in my opinion - what made you choose your username? For me.. I quite honestly just really really love seagulls. And seabirds in general. And birds in general. And… actually, just animals in general lol. Also I absolutely relate to having so many different nicknames throughout my time on scratch, and the wider internet. Some of them make me cringe to remember hahaha!
That’s so cool! I absolutely adore designing, too, but I haven’t really done it much lately to be honest. I love designing characters too, and maps, animals, plant life, and more for my imaginary worlds – I really want to get back to it, I feel like you’re inspiring to do that right now aah. Also, please feel free to tell me about your worlds (or your characters), I absolutely adore worldbuilding, and I’m so intrigued!

I’m also sixteen, and we have so many similar hobbies! I love all of those things too, especially drawing, tree climbing (well i haven’t actually had the opportunity to do that in a long while.. But now i’m suddenly ITCHING to climb a tree, help), guitar playing, reading, singing, bird watching, photography (do you have a camera? I’m getting a lumix panasonic camera very very soon!! I’m actually SO excited) and nature activities. And, I don’t have a dog but am nevertheless extremely interested and (I hope) knowledgeable in dog training. We’re planning to get one as soon as we can, even have the name picked hehe. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do them for a while for medical reasons but I also LOVE cycling, and horse riding! The horse I used to ride is called Pebbles. She’s a really beautiful dabble grey cob horse, (so gorgeous) and also so lovely and calm. Just such a sweetheart <3 I really miss her, so I hope I can visit the stables again not too far in the future!
Oh my goodness, lol, my riding instructor is/was so scary and strict (in a nice way if that makes sense but I was still terrified of her baha) and I was always petrified of doing stuff wrong or possibly letting the horses escape or something.
I also do all sorts of crafts, like crochet, jewelry making, sculpture/modelling and I want to start getting into stop motion animation. I also love swimming, and something I want to start doing in the future is ice skating!

Something I wanted to say is that you are an absolutely INCREDIBLE artist. How?? I love your art so, so, very much. It’s just so gorgeous and “satisfying” to look at - not sure if that’s a weird way to describe art or not but I don’t know how else to. It’s so gorgeous and I wish I could capture animals and the movement and light in the same way that you do. I actually think when I followed you at first I didn’t even know that you were a swc-er lol I just loved your art so much.

Awe! Jessie is such a cute name. Do you have any pictures of your dog you’ve shared on scratch? Or have you drawn her? :0 she sounds wonderful. That sounds so so nice, I’m so glad you have her and she has you, that’s an amazing story <3

I do! I have a cat who is a bengal cross who I ADORE (but I haven’t been home to see him for 6 months now!! :c) , my granny’s two rescue cats (so I suppose not really MINE, but I spend more time there than my house), my community fish tank and betta fish tank (and empty tank hopefully for future axolotl), and I also keep pet mice! Very sadly I only have 1 mouse at the moment but I’ve 5 over the past few years, and they all have had bird themed names! Wren, Starling, Magpie, Pigeon, and my current mouse Kite <3 mice are really such fantastic pets.

Oooh, I haven’t read those except the Chronicles of Narnia, but those books have been so special to me since childhood. I love Narnia.
I, too, love to read any random books I find, except I also have a gigantic to-read list as well lol! Hopefully I can get through it… there’s almost 300 on there sob. My goal for this year is to read 100 books and I’ve already read 23! I’m addicted though. A lot of them have been non-fiction too though (science books, wildlife books and memoirs mostly) and I loved them, non-fi is very underappreciated to be honest.

My favourite animals would probably be european badgers, sharks (especially greenland sharks and whale sharks), and birds, specifically UK sea/coastal birds
My favourite colour is any shade of green one hundred percent and I fully believe my loyalty to green will never ever fade I love green so much and if i had my way all my earthly possessions would be coloured green, bahaha.

Dear Seagull,
I think I came up with my username when I tried to think of something that will never bore me lol. I mean, I had moved accounts some times before only because I didn’t like the usernames, and I was so tired that I can’t stick to one account that I wanted to have something that would associate with many things at once. So then I came up with “gentle storm” because it’s sort of paradoxical and both calm and energetic lol. I don’t know, anyways, it worked hahah!
Your username is so cool, and I really love seagulls too! Probably because of the way they fly. It’s so beautiful, I literally can’t stop looking at seagulls in flight, especially if they fly in circles really close. You know, like if there are people who throw them food and they catch it in the air. That’s pretty cool too, they are so skilled!!
Yay it’s so nice that you love world building too!! This allows me to ramble about my worlds and characters now Probably my first world (country actually) was Azuriala (and the only one that has a proper name to be honest lol). It’s quite cold and high, mostly full of mountains. I created it for a story I daydreamed in middle school, something about cats (not exactly warrior cats, since I never read that book series - I just got inspired by some Scratch comics I guess). It’s not very interesting, but it has a unique species - I named them Dragonbirds. So they are basically huge beautiful birds, reminding both of swallowtail kite and hummingbirds, but really dangerous and with sharp beaks. They attack in flocks and were only created to add a plot twist lol.
I also had another “northern” world, it has some unique species too. There grows Icefruit (placeholder name haha), it’s like a transparent-ish orange with silver outside and sage green inside, but it grows on a conifer (wow) with really long and spiky needles. I wanted to make it very valuable so people would travel to sell it to southern countries. Also there live Carules (like ka-rule), they sort of look like cougars/snow leopards but with caribou face, antlers and colors. They are pretty cool, I even drew them several times but never shared those drawings on Scratch because they were quite messy.
And my current favourite character is not shared on Scratch either lol, it only exists in my head ahaha but she’s really detailed. You could call her a parkour master I guess, but she lives in a fantasy world. Basically, she jumps on the roofs of the town at night to protect the people with her rock sling. But she also spies on the enemies who rule the town (there was war and her country lost). She has a raccoon named Rookie, I love this floofball so much XD Actually, I’ve got the idea of this character from a dream, where I was hiding on the roofs from some nasty people and there was my raccoon friend for some reason. It was a pretty cool dream hehe.

Wow we have so many in common! Yeah, I use a camera to photograph stuff, I have no idea how it's called though. I mostly photograph nature like plants (trees!! Heheh), sky and animals. I even wanted to join Scratch Photography Camp but then I thought I'll be too busy with Scratch Design Camp. By the way I'm leading Interior design cabin this session It's pretty fun so far, even though there is so much left to do and I hate and love procrastination… lol!
Hey thank you so much!! I really love your art too, you're literally one of my favourite artists on Scratch - I absolutely love your realistic art style and the way you render and do the lightning and stuff!! Also why did you say all the things I wanted to say about YOUR art, lol I really want to improve my (hopefully) semi-realistic style this summer, but it means I gotta lock in now to finish all that's left on my to-do list. Which I actually tried to do since autumn, and now I'm pretty close - only 2 MAP parts are left (never again do I want to sigh-up for a MAP, I am a master of procrastination - I have that one part since August, it's crazy).

It's so cool that all your mice has/had bird names, that's so creative :O I had two winter white dwarf hamsters a while ago, but they had died by now. They were so cute and trusting.
Yay fellow Narnia fan!! Yeah it's an awesome book to read as a child and you never get over it, haha. What is your favourite genre to read? I love fantasy (obviously) and real-fi. Especially if it's like, “realistic” fantasy and real-fi with some fantasy details.
Weird question (I love those lol), but what is your weapon of choice? I have some, sword (and bow) works as classical fantasy weapon but I also like staffs for some reason, and after discovering DAVID the movie (it's new, was out in December I think, and it's so cool!! You should totally watch it. I haven't yet though lol, but hope to watch it soon - and who said you can't be in the fandom before watching it?!) I really like rock slings. My dear friend Seagull,

I am writing this in attempt to earn some more last points for my amazing, wonderful cabin. So do not be surprised or confused that I am trying to write weird long snake-like sentences in order to make this penpal letter longer that it was supposed to be in the first place, when I was thinking of it tonight, laying in my bed and thinking about this session and how amazing it was and that I haven't even added words from my diary yet (and not yet lol, I still have to finish counting them), and how much I want my cabin to win, and what can I do to earn even more points. So, without further ago (or is it even so? I love yapping, and it is time now for me to show my quality of this skill), here is my last penpal letter to you - hopefully only this session, not ever. I really hope there still will be penpal letters in future sessions. I really enjoyed writing to you and reading your letter <3 It was awesome to get to know you better. Okay, okay, lets head back to the main letter, I've been writing this intro for a bit too long now (oddly, I enjoyed it actually, I love yapping it's weird what would my past-self think of this XD)

Yesterday I had a really nice and interesting day. The weather was fine, though it's not really that warm yet but it is spring! What can be better? Spring is my favourite season, and my favourite period of the year (three months: April, May, June) starts tomorrow! A special thing about April is that the forest, near which I live, starts BLOOMING. Lots of windflowers (aka wood anemones) start blossoming in the middle of spring, and they bloom all April. It is truly beautiful: the forest floor is literally flooded with star-like white flowers with darky green lace leaves. So I think wood anemones are ones of my favourite flowers, plus I like the name windflower. Other flowers that I like and that grow where I live are Lupines, they are poisonous but still very pretty - they bloom all summer, and there are some shoot outside already. And some trees already have small leaves and buds. As you can see, I really love spring! It's so refreshing and vivid. Birds sing, even more than in summer, birds fly north, air gets warmer, sun stays longer and higher, everything is beautiful. So what did I do yesterday. I took Jessie, we managed to catch up with my irl bestie - lets call her Wynn, since I have to call her something, and we went to a really cool place for those who love climbing in general and tree climbing specifically (my case of this obsession XD). It is a spot where people who own that place sut down many young trees, and this is sad of course, I don't like it when trees are cut down, but the good side of was that all these tree trunks with their branches were stocked in one place. And it looks kind of messy and impossible to pass, but actually is an amazing place for tree climbing! So we went there and CLIMBED those fallen trees. Fun fact: Jessie climbed with us Of course, she couldn't really climb up those trees, dogs are not made for it, but she tried her best to get where she could. The thing is, when she was a puppy and we just got her we climber similar things with her, though those were smaller and easier to climb, so she is not afraid to balance on thick branches like many dogs, she is used to it. And she does it quit well! I'm so proud of my baby hehe :3 But most of the time she stayed on the ground, while me and Wynn LITERALLY were hanging out in the branches XD My friend is actually four years older than me, but we both are kids LOL! We really enjoyed our time there, I think I could even sleep up there for a while IF I had a pillow. Maybe we will even go there some time with books to make some sort of a weird tree picnic haha! We threw willow buds on each other and were all yellow because of the pollen (fortunately, none of us is allergic to it). Then we came to an old red brick wall, half-ruined, over the brook, and we climbed it and all old tree trunks that were over the brook, so we really enjoyed our time there. Also I have found a nuthatch's nest! It was just a small hole in the tree, and the birds were flying in and out of it. Also we saw some woodpeckers. It's pity we hadn't had a camera or even phone with us, these would be amazing shots.

Recently I have been doing some research about big felines, just for fun, and figured out that my favourite big cat species are leopards and pumas (aka cougars, aka mountain lions. They have the world record of names number, it's over forty if I am not mistaken!), because they are really pretty and climb trees very well. Also there are Clouded leopards, they can even climb trees upside down! Amazing, isn't it? They are pretty cute.

Tomorrow starts Scratch Design Camp. Yesterday I've invited all campers who have been sorted to my cabin (Interior design), but I forgot to add “rntas” and got spam massage several times, then today I saw that I've got a message from ST that said something about spamming. I checked, and some of the invitation messages on people's profiles were gone! So I had to invite them again. I really hope I haven't missed anyone and that everyone will figure it out and have fun during the session. I am personally so excited, but I still need to figure out something about storyline. Anyway, that's not that urgent, and I just can't wait for tomorrow so I could design all the amazing things that I've got ideas for this month but was procrastinating on because in April I will at least get points for them XD Some of my ideas include new characters, redesigning the old characters, some world building, doing my own in-cabin activities (mostly something about interior design hehe), moodboards and more. I really like making moodboards, I even share them on Pin and many people save them because all of them are free to use (people will use anyway, why stopping them from taking some inspiration?).

Okay, now I remembered an important thing I gotta do before SDC - sharing a moodboard dump with everything I've been making in March. Just because in April I will have a separate project for designing stuff. So yeah, I gotta go! I wrote quiet a lot, so I am happy now. This was probably my longest letter this session.
