Dictionary
A small guide I’ve put together to explain the meaning of VSynth-related terms.
As always, help is appreciated.

VOCALOID: VOCALOID is a singing synthesizer developed by Yamaha Corporation, first released in 2004. Its current stable release is VOCALOID 6. Read more on Wikipedia or its main site.
UTAU: UTAU is a free singing synthesizer program developed by Ayame/Ameya, first released in 2008. Read more on Wikipedia or its websites, here and here (both in Japanese).
Synthesizer V: Synthesizer V (often abbreviated as SynthV) is a singing synthesizer developed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd, first released in 2018. Its current stable release is Synthesizer V Studio 2. Read more on Wikipedia or its main site.
CeVIO: CeVIO is a singing synthesizer developed by the CeVIO Team, first released in 2013. Read more on Wikipedia or its main site.
VoiSona: VoiSona is a singing synthesizer branched from CeVIO, which utilizes artificial intelligence. Read more on its main site.
ACE Virtual Singer: ACE Virtual Singer is a singing synthesizer developed by Beijing Timedomain Technology Co., Ltd, first released in 2020.
Piapro Studio: Piapro Studio is a VSTi developed by Crypton Future Media, packaged with the CFM synths. First released in 2013 alongside VOCALOID 3 KAITO, it supports synthesizers from VOCALOID 2 up to VOCALOID 5. Read more on the Vocaloid Wiki.

Vocal Synth: Sometimes abbreviated into VSynth, it is a general term for everything related to singing synthesizer softwares.
OpenUtau: OpenUtau is a program similar to UTAU, but with more features such as multiple tracks, easier note addition and support for DiffSinger voicebanks. Read more on its main site.
Voicebank: Sometimes abbreviated into VBs, they refer to a specific set of voice for a synth. For example, Kasane Teto (UTAU) has 2 standard voicebanks, being Tandoku and Tougou; or Hatsune Miku has 6 main voicebanks (her V2, V3, V4x, Super Pack (SP), New Type (NT) and V6), with smaller subbanks such as English.
Producer: Producer is the common way to refer to someone who makes Vocal Synth songs.
Vocaloid Database: (often abbreviated into VocaDB) is a collaborative wiki-like database for every media related to Vocal Synths. It is quite expansive, having pages for content such as song competitions/campaigns (e.g. ProSeka NEXT, VocaColle), profiles for any synths that has appeared in a song/cover, to a large list of songs/covers.
Vocaloid Lyrics Wiki: (often abbreviated into VLW) is a wiki hosted on Miraheze, dedicated to providing lyrics (and an accurate English translation, if applicable). Originally hosted on Fandom, they have moved to Miraheze in April-May, 2025 due to problems with Fandom staff.

Song of the Week Rules
This is just something fun, so I won’t have too strict rules on these.
1. Only 1 suggestion per person in the active pool. That means if you already suggested a song this round, you can’t suggest another until the song has been chosen for SoTW.
2. Only 1 song per producer in the active pool. For example, if another person had suggested a DECO*27 song to be in this pool, you can’t suggest a song of his until the previous song has been chosen for SoTW
3. No repeat songs from past rounds. For example, if the song Alien Alien (by Nayutan Seijin) has been suggested before, you can’t suggest it again.

that sounds cool but i think we’d need to see like what qualifies as trending lol
maybe song of the week? people can suggest songs each week and the one that gets the most supporters gets to be the song of the week

alright so its about loving your “puppets” but not caring about hurting them because they aren't real (as most deltarune players do with Kris although it does remind me of caine from tadc now that I think of it) with inspos from execution clap butchers vanity and retry now
the pov is of someone trying to make their ‘puppets’ stronger and doing everything in the ‘game’ aware that it hurts their ‘puppets’ don't care because they aren't real
also why I'm using teto's utau is 1. its free I'm broke and only have a chromebook- and 2. its being sung to the puppets in a way ig?? still working this out and I'm not great at writing lyrics-

hmnghmghgmh I love this concept so much aaaaa
it kinda reminds me of tsp in a way as well, like the idea of a higher power thinking of the ‘puppets’ as not real and therefore it doesn't really matter if they are hurt while to the ‘puppets’ that life is all they've ever known so it's real to them
