okay we're doing it for real this time — No Communication Collab Game 2.0 [OPEN]
SO nobody here is gonna know about ts but a while back i did a collab where a couple people all make a game without communicating… but we cheated(read: i cheated for all of us collectively) at the start to help make sure one person wasn't making a game we can't even code.
BUT THIS TIME IT'S GONNA BE DIFFERENT I SWEAR.
This time there's gonna be literally no communication, just blindly picking up what the last person left off!
—HOW THIS WORKS if you didn't know—
So we're gonna have up to fifteen coders here(probably won't get that much but whatever); imma spin a wheel once i think there's enough to see what order we're going in.
Coder 1 will start making a game, any game(so long as it's not extremely complicated… i feel like if the host can't code it we might have a problem); they get four hours(you can take breaks in between if needed) to do what they like plus time for one extra playtest afterwards, then they share the project and give the link to Coder 2. Coder 2 goes to the link and remixes the project, then Coder 1 unshares the project so that none of the others can get sneak peeks(yes I'm talking to you right there, I know this is the kind of stuff you'd do) and Coder 2 codes for their four hours… we go on until we get through all the coders, then if the game doesn't feel finished enough we'll go around again until it's acceptable!
—CODER SLOTS—not in this order bcuz we don't have enough people to start yet

—RULES N' REGULATIONS—
• only apply if you can code bruv… kind of obvious
• keep it E rated people… also obvious
• you may replace code with better code, or art with new art, or lore with new lore, etc. but no deleting the basic concept of stuff that kind of defeats the purpose of the collab
• if you just wanna be silly and put random crab in the project without really contributing go do that in your own stuff thank you very much
• if you're being silly and adding random crab to the project that contributes to the project go right ahead cuz
• as said before you get four hours to keep it fair, if you think this is too short we can discuss that
• i know it's tempting but no looking at the project unless it's your turn
so uhh thats it go apply! i'll be looking in your projects to see if you're good enough at coding tho

This looks fun, I'd be interested.
I have one question though:
I have one question though:
they get four hours(you can take breaks in between if needed) to do what they like plus time for one extra playtest afterwards, then they share the project and give the link to Coder 2.Would you be okay with the “breaks” in-between taking multiple days? The only time I'd be free to code for four consecutive hours would be weekends, so if my slot ended up falling on a weekday, I would either take four total days, coding 1 hour per weekday, or do nothing until Friday hit.

This looks fun, I'd be interested.Yeah that'll be fine, I usually have around two hours on weekdays and maybe ten minutes on weekends so imma take AT LEAST two days

I can apply, I am a developer. So, basically don't overcomplicate things or is it only for the 1st person?

Yeah it'd be best to try and keep stuff intermediate to semi-advanced, it's really on the first person the most though because if they make a really complex base the next person could just get stuck

First of all, when we go make a game, it is a good idea to also let some worse coders in, especially as first few coders. They often are better at designing the game and the better coders can then make it work.
If this is still going to happen, I would like to join.

They often are better at designing the game and the better coders can then make it work.In a collab it's generally better to have overall experienced programmers who can work together and understand each other easily, although I also understand what you're saying that in this kind of chain collab, the format is very friendly to new coders so it would make sense to let them in.
If this is still going to happen, I would like to join.
Nevertheless, this is Koamodo975's collab, so it's completely up to them who they let in. If they're going for a high-quality collab, it makes sense that they only want intermediate to experienced programmers.

Ok y'all im having some difficulties, the project's not discontinued but I'll be back on in a while
That's actually a really good point there dem, i just try and keep the skill threshold to a minimum of intermediate so that if someone goes first or such the others have a good base and if they go later on they can keep pace with the code.
also you're totally in
