A few days ago when the explore page finally got updated after like 2 months, why did some of the features like the sort by trending and popular option suddenly get removed?

Yes, projects on Trending that were inappropriate but taken down still had a thumbnail shown there.
The Scratch Team says they are “working on new ways to uplift projects” and that includes Explore, Projects Loved by Scratchers I'm Following
and stuff.

A new version of the Explore page will be released soon, in which projects are manually selected to appear on the Explore page by Scratch Team members. This change is being made to combat the rise of inappropriate projects on the page. Sorting was removed to prepare for this change.

I find it a bit silly that they're doing this instead of just fixing the thumbnail issue and then I guess manually reviewing trending more often.

They also removed the indexer on the search, meaning new projects can't be searched, because of inappropriate projects.

Scratch keeps removing things from the explore page.

I am going to predict that explore page is going to be fully removed
