ForumVoters - The one stop shop for forum elections!

We guarantee you'll have your order responded to (accepted or rejected) in 48 hours or less!
ForumVoters is a new shop for all your voting needs! Be it a shop manager election or a forum handover election or even just voting between whether or not to change the forum name – ForumVoters have the capacity to professionally deal with your voting. We do not allow political-themed elections.

Our owner has experience hosting transparent elections in the past as well as over 1,800 posts on the forums and nearly 12 years on Scratch. Combined with our 48-hour guarantee, effective results, revolutionary voting system, this truly is the best choice for elections and votes. Join us today or place an order.

We provide three voting systems:
  • RV (ranked voting): In this system, each voter gives three points to their favourite option, two points to their second-favourite, and one point to their third-favourite. This system is good because often a compromise option is selected as a secondary option and wins since they gain a lot of votes resulting in everyone being content rather than a more polarising option winning.

  • The ForumVoters original, and the one we recommend – ARV (alternative ranked voting): This system combines both other options; a voter may either choose to use an RV system where they give three points to their primary choice and two points to their secondary choice, or if they feel strongly about one choice and would be unhappy with all but one of the options (a disadvantage of RV) they may sacrifice a point and give two-points to their primary choice and none to their secondary choice.

  • FPTP (first past the post): This system is used in US and UK general elections, in which a series of candidates are given to a voter who picks one. Whoever has the most votes wins. This system is flawed due to the spoiler effect, which results in gravitating towards a two-option voting system, since every vote towards a smaller option is a vote taken away from a more popular option, and as a result picking a smaller option you're happy with is a vote taken away from an option you're content with, meaning you're splitting your vote between two options and giving your least-favourite option a better chance at winning.

    First past the post results in tactical voting, which is where you end up voting for the option you're content with rather than your favourite choice because otherwise both options will be at a lower vote count. This means FPTP is not representative of everyone's opinions, as opposed to ARV (the most representative) and RV (less representative than ARV but more than FPTP).

Thanks!

That'd be great! We only really have one job available since it's the only one we need - all you need to do is accept any orders that come in for a vote (that you can do) and count the votes. If they select FPTP, you just need to count the votes and whichever one has the most votes wins. For RV (ranked voting), you might need a calculator - count everyone's primary vote and give those options three points for each vote. Count everyone's second (secondary) vote and give the options two points for each vote. Count everyone's tertiary (third) vote and give each option one point for each tertiary vote it gets.

ARV, the system I created for ForumVoters designed to match everyone's preferences the best, is a little more complicated. If somebody chooses to vote twice (not as separate votes - this doesn't mean a recount), you give their primary vote three points and their secondary vote two points. If they choose to vote once, give that vote one two points.

…That looks a lot more complicated than it is. TL;DR if they pick FPTP just count each vote as one point, if they pick RV they're basically ranking them (first place vote = three point, second place vote = two points, third place vote = one point) and in ARV they can choose to vote either with;
  • a first place and second place vote, in which case you give three points to the first place vote and two to the second place vote,
  • they may choose to just do a first place vote, in which case you give two points to that vote.

Okay! That makes sense! I'll make a note of it so I remember.

I'll add you to the staff list. …On second thought, I'll make a staff list and add you to it. Why didn't I have one but I had a section about staff?
