My friend joined Scratch a week ago. She made some cute projects, nothing violent, inappropriate, or anything that broke the guidelines. And out of the blue, her account got deleted by the Scratch Team - completely deleted! Why?

(And don't tell me to use contact us, for some reasons our computers keep freezing when we click the button so the forums are her only hope)

We need more info. Like the username, bio, etc.

Ban evasion or banned franchise use (without knowing they were banned) are my two most likely guesses
I may be wrong, though, and also the ST usually likes to keep matters private.

Try disabling all your extensions and then see if it works — or, open a private/incognito window and try there.

If you have any issues, Contact the ST directly, but keep in mind that it takes a while to get an answer.

Or you can logon to another device and use Contact Us there.

If the ban is temporary, you can probably only use Contact Us but if it is permanent you can use both Contact Us and appeals@scratch.mit.edu .

I never heard that! I mean, we do say “kaj” on april fools day. So.. Who exactly got banned?

It sounds like she was accidentally flagged for “ban evasion”. Since your buttons are acting like frozen popsicles, have her email appeals@scratch.mit.edu directly to get her account back from the digital void.

I've done a lot of reading about the automatic censor system and from what I know the longest it can block a user for is like 90 mins if the reports aren't valid. (here is the scratch wiki article)

Yea, I've seen cases of ST supposedly confusing people who were banned with another person, so it could happen. Was this her first time on Scratch, or was she on Scratch before?

Do you mean that the website freezes or your computer freezes (I've heard of it infinitely loading before, so that might be a bug with the page or could just be computers being slow)
