(SOLVED) Strange case of “Project cannot save”

(UPDATE: I had misread the file size and it was over 10mb.)
My browser / operating system: IPad iOS 26.2.1, ChromeiOS 145.0.7632.108, No Flash version detected
I was making a project that was a collage of images when it suddenly would not save. Here’s the thing though,
°The backdrop I was using for the collage was 7.6mb
°The vector I had downloaded and imported still saved earlier
°When I deleted any 3 images, it would suddenly be fine and save. Not just the last 3 images, but any 3 images.
°It saved earlier.
Note that I do not have any audio or code whatsoever in this project. Also when I began to use the “undo” button, the vector I had imported suddenly discombobulated and half of it died

(SOLVED) Strange case of “Project cannot save”

It sounds like you're hitting the Asset Storage Limit. Even though you don't have code, that 7.6MB backdrop is massive for Scratch!

Here is why deleting 3 images works: Scratch has a total ‘Project JSON’ limit. By removing those images, you’re shrinking the project file just enough for the servers to accept it again.

Tips to fix this:

Compress your backdrop: Try converting that 7.6MB image to a slightly lower-quality JPG before importing. If you can get it under 2MB, the rest of your collage should save fine.

Vector Glitch: The ‘discombobulation’ usually happens on iPad when the browser runs out of memory (RAM). Try closing other tabs before working on large collages!
Is this AI?
If it’s ai, do not feed my stuff to AI and do not do the same to others without permission.

I use AI to help me understand the technical stuff (like the specific asset limits and BBCode formatting) otherwise, it's mine.
I wouldn’t recommend using AI.
That comment was largely misinformation, as the asset limit is 10mb, not 7mb, and I used an imported vector where it’s usually a lot more buggy, and this case was a very peculiar one. And the project JSON limit is seperate. If I remember correctly, the JSON is the code, which is seperate to the assets

Also, using AI can be unconstructive and is discouraged for this reason and the fact that if someone wanted a response from an AI, they would just ask AI itself
