The #1 Hater - Thornkit Application
About Me!
Hello there! My name is Montgomery but you may call me Monty for short or even just Confetti. My account’s @ButterflyBoy- and I share the things I like such as art, animations and even this roleplay! I’ve been in Generations since the start and have had a decent handful of characters, from my oldest being Sepiakit all the way back when Moss was the only clan to my most recent character Laurelpaw who managed to sneak out of camp 4 times (mostly protected of course)! I’m really interested in biology and am most focused on insects but I do hope to have some time to dabble in other living creatures. I also like the color blue, birds, rainbows, and skateboarding! Anywho, enough about me. Let’s move on to the kit!
Kit you're applying for
I am applying for Thornkit! Ever since I saw the little guy I just loved his design and I’ve had so many ideas for him. They’ve actually been floating around in my head for some time now and I’m finally applying!
Personality ((Simplified and Detailed))
“Joy…the most disgusting thing to ever exist. It’s so annoying seeing all those other kits be happy and play stupid games. I however, am smarter and better and totally cooler!”
Moving on from Thorn’s point of view, they are quite a moody kit. Thorn finds no joy in anything (or at least tries to). You’re probably wondering how a kit could end up with so much hatred of the world, perhaps something happened? Well, Thorn is simply upset just because! You see, he wants to stand out among the other kits, be the one everyone notices. What better way is there than being terribly moody? He’ll find a problem in everything and he highly doubts there’s even a glimmer of hope in any situation. He’s…not exactly the funnest cat to hang around and he’ll certainly remind you of it. You might expect a grumpy kit to stick to the shadows, spending their time sulking and sighing, but Thorn is quite talkative! He isn’t exactly saying nice and cheery things as he is brutally honest but he’s certainly not shy. He certainly won’t back down from any challenge either. He’s a bold kit which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you ask. It’s great that he can’t be frazzled easily but he truly has to learn that not every risk is something he should stick his nose in. And-wait where is Thorn going? Perhaps we should follow him…
“Look, don’t tell anyone else this okay? It’s a secret between you and me. I…really like the stars. They’re the coolest thing out there!”
Did you hear that? Thorn sure didn’t sound as grumpy as before. That’s because he’s quite the secretive cat! It may sound surprising that there is more than just anger and pessimism but there is! He hides the more cheerier parts of him away so he can stand out. Of course sometimes it shows in the little things he does. For example, he’s a very hardworking cat. No matter how much he complains and whines about having to do something as simple as cleaning up his nest, he makes sure it looks absolutely perfect by the time it’s done. Perhaps it might be that ambitious brain of his that sets only the highest goals. Another little trait that ironically may be hard to notice is his observation skills. He’s very good at paying attention to the little things. Maybe he’s learned these skills because of the stars he looks up to so far away, maybe it’s what he’s learned from sitting alone by himself. Whatever the case is, he’s good at noticing things.
Simplified Traits: Hardworking (+), Observant (+), Secretive, Talkative, Ambitious, Arrogant (-), Reckless (-), Pessimistic (-), Grumpy (-)
((Note: The ones that lack a + or - are neutral traits! They turned into emojis and I don't know how to fix that. Apologies!))
Family Interactions
((Another note: This is going off of the brief blurbs in the project description! If this isn't entirely accurate then I apologize))
Reveriecrown: I think Thorn would get along with Reverie! Thorn is always trying to take on challenges to prove himself and Reverie’s encouragement to dive into risky situations definitely helps boost his confidence. Her laid-backness and defense of her kits will probably make him an even bigger troublemaker. Now like with the rest of the things that make Thorn happy, this is going to be subtle. There will be some signs such as mumbling agreement to a positive comment or maybe not finding the negative in every single situation (more like every other /silly).
Fallenshadow: Thorn might have a tad more trouble getting along with Fallen. He’d hate all those sappy lessons, how nice Fallen is and definitely the part of getting lectured for bad behavior. However, like with most things as constantly mentioned throughout, he does like his father a lot! He’ll listen to every last word of those lessons and hold them close to his heart. While he doesn’t typically play games he might play a round or two half-hearted mossball with Fallen, a pretty big step if you ask me! It’s the little things that show he isn’t as hate-filled as you think. Of course, those little lectures will certainly make him genuinely upset but hey, maybe even those will impart a bit of wisdom he remembers when he’s older.
Siblings: The personality of his siblings is unknown since they haven’t been chosen so I’m gonna keep this fairly general. Thorn will probably not like his siblings to be honest. He’d be a bit nicer/open with them as they’re family (and he doesn’t want them running off to their parents) but there will be a distinct coldness to in their interactions. If they’re super hopeful or energetic or something on a similar wavelength, his dislike will probably shine more, maybe a sharper tone or more complaining. Although, perhaps this kit could be the cheery soul that teaches him to smile? More on that in future plans. If they’re more cool, collected, or some other similar type, he’d likely be chill with them but since he needs to keep up his reputation as a not happy kit so he’ll probably find something to complain about.
Future Plans
My future plans for Thornkit are fairly loose. I have some floating about, for example, he learns that he should treasure happiness instead of hating it. I think this would happen after some sort of loss or major injury/illness. It would make him reconsider his view on joy. Another one that this hatred becomes serious. He no longer finds it to be some “grand plan” to draw all eyes. He seriously does dislike everything and some traits might change such as ambition turning to laziness. I think this would be a phase during his apprenticeship. Okay another idea popped up and it’s that he learns to be happier through a friend. Someone manages to crack through that tough shell of his and make him smile, even if it’s the faintest one. His pessimism might change to realism, no longer seeing things are truly bad but rather what they are. His grumpiness would certainly tone down as well, perhaps to a short temper or becoming more snarky? Ain’t sure yet. Just gotta see how life goes ya know?
Research
Hi! So this is my research for Klinefelter Syndrome, the condition that Thornkit has. I will first go over what it is, like the causes and effects. Then we’ll take a deeper look into how it affects Thorn personally. I’ll be splitting that into two sections for easier reading.
Introduction aside, Klinefelter Syndrome is a condition where those born male have an extra X chromosome making it XXY instead of the typical XY. It’s fairly common, happening in 1 in 600 people. This can actually appear in different ways which is a fun fact I wanna share with yall! For some, the extra x is in all cells while for others the x is only in some cells which creates a form of mosaicism. The most common version though is all cells being affected so I’ll just go with that. Now, onto the symptoms/effects, it varies from person to person. For example, some effects could be a lower muscle mass, being tall, the higher risk of conditions such as osteopenia/osteoporosis, which weakens bones, blood clots, autoimmune diseases and even infertility. It can also affect a person’s development, maybe causing delays in talking or moving. This is just a small list of effects that are caused by Klinefelter Syndrome. Now that we’ve gone over specifically the condition, let’s narrow it down to specifically Thorn’s life.
So, how will this all affect Thorn? Klinefelter Syndrome is something that doesn’t usually have a big impact on the life that someone lives (of course, this varies between people) so Thorn is likely to be okay and not notice it much. This doesn’t mean he’s without his problems however. For one, as he gets older he becomes more likely to develop issues such as osteopenia which was briefly mentioned. I will likely come back to research this and osteoporosis when he is around perhaps 30-50 moons old. I think he’ll likely experience issues with his motor skills, specifically dyspraxia which I’ve also researched as well. Finally, the last way Klinefelter Syndrome will affect Thorn is infertility, meaning he won’t be able to have biological kids. These issues aside though, I will once again restate that Thorn should live a mostly normal and hopefully long life.

As mentioned before, Thornkit is going to experience dyspraxia as an effect of Klinefelter. Similar process to the original where I establish cause and effect in the first paragraph and then we move on to specifically Thorn’s life.
Dyspraxia is a developmental condition that can cause issues with their motor skills, movement in simpler terms. What causes it is something interrupting the nerves in your brain from properly communicating to your muscles which causes issues learning and doing these skills. It is fairly common and typically noticed at a young age. An interesting fact about dyspraxia is that you can commonly find it with other issues such as ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. Some effects that this can cause is difficulty with balance, difficulty with walking, running, or other actions, problems with talking, and frequently falling or tripping. Like before, this is only a small list of possible ways Dyspraxia may show up for someone. These all vary from person to person.
Moving on to how this will affect Thorn, it should be rough when he’s younger. He’s definitely going to struggle tripping or bumping into things often. He’s definitely going to have a hard time playing with others as he might feel like he’s not as good as them. As much as Thorn is arrogant I do think this would cause some self-esteem issues to arise (if this also requires research let me know). He’d definitely doubt himself in these moments where he struggles with movement. He’s also likely going to struggle with hunting prey as this can make it harder for him to do all the precise hunting techniques, likely to trip chasing prey or other complications. This doesn’t mean he can’t be helped however. With time and pratice, he can improve his motor skills and get better at moving around without problems but it won’t be perfect. Dyspraxia does not have a cure so all Thorn can do is try to improve, even if it never really reaches perfection.

Trivia!
-Like mentioned before, Thorn truly does not like many things and has a very long dislike list
-However he does like the stars quite a bit and looks up to them
-He also enjoys the sound of rains.
-His favorite flower would have to be poppies
-Thorn does spend time in the shadows thinking up of ways to be moody. Sometimes, if it’s super quiet in camp, you might even hear the quietest giggle.
-Thornkit would probably choose villains over heroes. Why? Cuz villains are dark gloomy of course!
- Now Thorn wouldn’t be evil himself. At the moment I actually don’t see him being fully evil
Ain’t really trivia I just wanted to say that it’s been rough coming up with a title for this application. I guess you could say I hate naming things
And that’s the end of my applications! I hope you had a fun time reading and have a wonderful day
