Save As Draft button

I think Scratch should add a Save As Draft button to the editor. A draft would save locally across sessions on a user's device, and act as a undo for users who accidently close the tab. Additionally, this would allow creators to save their projects as drafts, without immediately releasing updates to the public. Thanks for considering!

I'm sorry, but I don't completely understand.
Is it just a local save state you can experiment on and then undo? You can already log into another device and have your project and if you want to test something I'd recomment making a copy of the project.

Like if you accidently close out, or make an update for a game, but don't want to Immedatly release it

You can already save a game without sharing it

It would work well for already shared games. Say I complete a bossfight for the update I want to share tomorrow, but need to save it. The Draft button allows me to save without it going on the cloud

He means saving a shared project without pushing the change to the project, but that could get complicated if there are 2 versions of the same project and you can already make a copy of it (and/or save to your computer) to do the same thing

It would allow easier management of games and prevent clogging of someone's files with unreleased versions.

You could only have 1 version of a draft. It just means your see inside and project is the new version unlike everyone elses, which is still the old one, until you press the regular save button again.

Support! So much easier than leaving the tab open.

This would also be helpful to people with low end devices, so they can keep work in progress updates “safe”, white closing Scratch

It would not, It would also save locally, which is not something the topic discusses, so its not a dupe. They are similar but slightly different with some different functions

You could just make a copy, save it to your computer, then load it to the project. Then delete the unwanted drafts.
