On This Stage, We Sing

Skylar's Saki's Skylar's March 2026 SWC Leader Application

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 1 ✧ About Me

Hiya! I’m Skylar (she/her), occasionally known as Saki (though I mainly go by Skylar ^^), a 17-year-old British-Chinese Christian from the land of GMT! I’m currently in my final year of sixth form and formal schooling (woah, Skylar is ancient :0), and preparing for my A Level exams this summer. At school, I’m studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Physics - which are some of the best subjects to ever exist… I’m totally not biased as a STEM kid, totally not~ Anyways! I’m heading into university next year - which is surprising, considering my career crisis a few months back - and hope to study Civil Engineering. I’ve always found the built environment around me so interesting to look at and I’m excited to learn more about designing and constructing infrastructure!

When I’m not on Scratch, you can probably find me studying and listening to music! I listen to several different genres, but primarily Christian worship, J-pop, Pop-Rock, Electropop, and Project Sekai/Vocaloid music. I also sometimes dabble in classical and film/soundtrack music. I’ve recently been listening to a lot of Project Sekai - specifically Leo/need songs - and Vitamin String Quartet covers! (Though, let’s admit those covers are mainly Star Trek themes…) As well as listening to music, I also play piano and violin and sing in my school’s choir! I absolutely love choral music as well - there’s just such an atmosphere you get from it that I find you can’t really get from anywhere else.

I’m not just interested in science - I absolutely love the humanities as well! I’m super into current affairs, politics, and debate, and if I’m not actively talking about my love for science, you might find me talking about Model United Nations! It’s probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I love how you can debate from the perspective of a country you might not agree with and get to understand the world from a different point of view. I was actually super close to taking politics for A Level, but then Physics happened, so, you know~

When I’m not studying, in school, or MUN-ing, you can find me engaging in one of my favourite hobbies: writing! I’ve been writing for a long time, and it’s always super fun to bring characters to life on a page. I’ve found my artistic expression has slowly moved from art towards writing recently - probably because I don’t have that much time to art nowadays, ahaha. I primarily write science fiction and realistic fiction, and I enjoy worldbuilding these worlds my characters live in. It’s super fun to just dive into the world and spend way too much time nerding out about the infrastructure and society.

Question 2 ✧ Experience

The upcoming session will be my twelfth session of SWC, my first session having been in March 2021. Over the course of five years, I’ve camped eight times, co-led once in March 2025, and led twice in July 2025 and November 2025. I’ve also hosted and led various other scratch camps throughout my time here, and each experience has taught me so much about leading and organising an event like SWC. I’ve always enjoyed leading SWC and other camps, as it’s super fun to plan all the chaos that’s occurring and watch your ideas come to life *insert sparkles*

My first two sessions on the leadership team were definitely sessions where I learnt a lot about what it was like to be an SWC leader - beyond adding points, coming up with a storyline, etc, it taught me the importance of organisation and having a to-do list set up, as well as delegation. It also taught me the importance of having a planned storyline in advance and making sure everything was on track - when I led Apocalyptic, the storyline was determined by the campers, and due to my own busy schedule, it was hard to find the time to adequately complete the storyline since it was so open ended. When I co-led Fanfi, we had to improvise on the spot to get activities for the different realms sorted, and we also ended up cutting out a lot of things we wanted to do.

During my last session as leader, I applied some of the lessons I’d learned from these experiences to Action. I delegated roles, so everyone was in charge of a specific activity, and we also split the storyline up into four different weeks that one of us would manage. Action was definitely a very successful cabin as a result!

In real life, I’ve also been part of my school’s MUN secretariat, organising my school’s annual conference. My role has mainly been mentoring and training newer delegates, and this role has taught me a lot about the importance and skills of mentorship and teaching. I’ve also been the leader of a few charity sales during my time at school, which has involved liaising with teachers and chasing up people to do their tasks.

In terms of writing experience, I’ve been writing since I was really young. I was always imaginative, and always wanted to tell stories - though, looking back on things now, my writing wasn’t particularly good. I’ve loved creatively writing for pretty much as long as I can remember. I primarily write for myself, though I have written pieces for essay and writing competitions before.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 3 ✧ Cabin Preference

This session, I’d most like to lead Realistic Fiction/Contemporary or Science Fiction, with more relaxed storylines compared to Apocalyptic and Action.

My idea for a Real-Fi or Contemporary cabin is inspired by me having fallen down the J-idol pop, J-rock and Project Sekai rabbit hole! The premise of this is that the campers have been invited to perform at a music festival by the leaders, who’d be famous idols or celebrities who are organising the event. Throughout the month, campers will be able to complete different activities and earn some in-cabin currency as they “rehearse” ahead of the big concert at the end of the month.

For Sci-Fi, my idea is inspired by Star Trek, and also Becky Chambers’s Wayfarers series. Campers would be archivists or scientists aboard an exploratory ship on its mission to document the histories of species who have recently come into contact with, or have joined this universe’s version of the Federation. The in-cabin activities would be focused on worldbuilding, and campers would be able to create their own alien species and build their folklore, culture, history, and customs.

I’d prefer not to lead Horror or Romance. I’m highly unfamiliar with writing in those genres, and I don’t think they’d be the best fit for me. Aside from that, I’m open to leading any cabin - regardless of if I’ve been in that cabin before, or not.

Although I will be fairly busy with life, I’d still prefer not to lead TCTWNW. I’ve always really enjoyed the competitive aspect of SWC, and I think that I wouldn’t be the right sort of person to lead TCTWNW.

Question 4 ✧ Writing Excerpt

Hot chocolate. A drink she hasn’t had for a long time. Alaina calmly stirred a sachet of hot chocolate powder into some hot water, careful not to get it on her clothes. She was more of a tea person, but frankly, she missed autumn days like this where she could make herself a drink and cosy up next to her brother on the sofa together.

Alfie was due home from the hospital at any point now, his shift having ended an hour ago. The flat she moved into with her brother during his second year of university wasn’t too far away from Alfie’s work, but emergencies could always happen, and being called to help out on a job near the end of his shift was always a possibility.

Alaina grabbed a second sachet and put the kettle on. She hoped Alfie would enjoy some hot chocolate too, even though he was more the type for coffee. Alaina didn’t understand how he could like the bitter taste so much, but each to their own, she thought.

Once the kettle had boiled, she poured hot water into a mug and added the powder in, stirring it with a clean spoon. Alaina heard the door open as soon as she finished making the second cup.

“Hey, Alfie,” Alaina smiled as her brother walked into the house. He seemed a little rough. “I made you some hot chocolate. I’ll leave it on the table and you can get some after you’ve gotten changed.”

“Thanks,” Alfie replied, locking the door and taking off his shoes. He headed off to his room to get changed, dumping his bag on the table. Alfie usually packed light, so it wasn’t a problem for Alaina as she set out the table for dinner. She was feeling like they needed something special today, and so had ordered takeaway from their favourite Chinese Restaurant. Nothing compared to the dumplings the Han family made - June’s cooking was beyond extraordinary. No wonder she had opened a family restaurant there.

“I got some of your favourite dumplings from the restaurant,” Alaina called. “We can have dinner now or we could wait a bit. Depends how you’re feeling.”

“Mmhm, can we drink our hot chocolates first? I had a rough day today.” Alfie replied, walking out from his room. “On the sofa would be nice.”

Alaina smiled. “Of course. We all have bad days.” She placed the two mugs on the table by the sofa, and sat down, inviting Alfie to join in. Alfie sat down next to her, snuggling up into Alaina’s embrace.

“Do you want to watch some TV?” Alaina asked. “Or we could just put on the news.”

“I just want to stay like this,” Alfie replied, taking a sip of his hot chocolate. “Work was really bad today.”

Alaina hugged him closer, drinking her own hot chocolate as well. She gazed out of their balcony window, watching the wind softly blow the autumn tree leaves to the ground. “Hey, it’ll be okay,” Alaina said, comforting her brother. “They’ll have a counsellor available to talk to you tomorrow, and if not I can always force someone into being your counsellor.”

That got a light laugh out of Alfie. “I think I’ll be okay,” he said. “Can we please stay like this for a little bit longer?”

“Of course.”

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 5 ✧ Time Dedication

I’m currently preparing for my A Level exams and so am pretty focused on my revision. During January and February, I’ll be spending a significant amount of my free time dedicated to revising for my February mocks, and then later in March I’ll also be studying for my actual exams. Despite this, I can confidently dedicate at least an hour a day to SWC, as I’ll be able to spend the time I’m not studying on doing something fun and taking a break - which is SWC! I’ll also be able to dedicate more time on Sundays, as that’s the day I take a break from studying.

I typically check in during the mornings after I wake up and after I get back from school in the afternoons. I do also occasionally check in during school - if I’m not involved in club activities or spending time studying in the library, that is.

I’ll be organising and running my school’s MUN conference in January and will be inactive between the 30th January and 1st February for this. I also have two concerts in March, but arrangements for those have not been fully confirmed as to when and where rehearsals are. I’ll make sure to update my leaders and hosts when I know more details about them! I’ll also be going to various offer holder days for universities in March as well, but aside from that, I don’t have any planned trips or periods of significant inactivity in the lead-up to and during SWC.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 6 ✧ Time Management

My time management skills have never been good - I’ve tried so many ways to keep myself organised: planners, time blocking, bullet journalling - yet I’ve always found myself falling back on the good old “do it the night before it’s due” to get my work done. My biggest weakness is always struggling to stick to a timetable or plan. If something disrupts that plan, I always struggle to get back on track and eventually throw it out in favour of winging it. I’ve been trying to be more disciplined with myself recently, such as setting timers so that when the time for studying or working is up, I take a break, and when the break is over, I go back to working and it prevents procrastination.

Despite this weakness, I find myself being able to plan adequately and realistically, and I use techniques such as breaking a large task down into lots of little ones and organising my time into 45-minute to 1 hour blocks for working. I often factor in time to procrastinate, and I’ve found that when I do plan and manage to discipline myself into sticking to it, it goes really well.

I’m also diagnosed with ADHD, which also means I struggle with procrastination and executive functioning capabilities in general - I often struggle to start tasks, especially if I find them boring or tired. I’ve recently started taking medication, and it’s been super helpful with my focus to start and finish tasks, though I still find myself struggling with procrastination and actually getting up to do said tasks.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 7 ✧ Collaboration and Assets

My strongest point in collaboration is probably my willingness to listen and put out new, crazy ideas that might not be well received. I find that I come up with ideas best in a group environment, bouncing ideas off of the people I’m working with, considering them and throwing them out. This allows us to come up with ideas that we might not have come up with before had we been working alone.

Another one of my strengths is my ability to communicate. When I’m working with a group, I’ll try to make sure everyone understands the plan before moving on and have everyone’s approval. I try to keep everyone in the loop and aware of what’s going on, as well as clean up any misunderstandings that I can!

On the other hand, I do find myself struggling with letting go of control. It can be hard for me, especially when I have a set idea in mind for what I want to do, which can lead to me being frustrated and agitated. I’m trying to change this by being more open and willing to compromise, as well as delegating tasks to people around me. Because of this, I do tend to give more ground on the compromise side, so that everyone can come to an agreement we’re happy with.

I’m also a self-taught artist and graphic designer, and would consider myself well-versed in spreadsheets. This is super useful to an SWC leadership team as it allows us to keep track of words and any in cabin activities on the more administrative side, as well as do all the fun design such as cabin aesthetics, matching profile pictures, and project thumbnails.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 8 ✧ One Quality

The one quality I value the most is connection. I believe that being a leader is all about forming connections and relationships with the people you’re working with. Connection is the fundamental quality that all other qualities of being a leader are built upon. Without the ability to connect with other people, you would struggle to empathise - and then, you’d struggle to be a relatable leader. You’d struggle to mentor and guide the people you’re leading because you would struggle to know how to meet them where they are. Without connection, you’d probably struggle to trust or gain and give respect to the people you’re working with.

I think that being a leader in SWC is all about forming connections - to other people in your cabin, to your leadership team, to new campers in SWC. Part of what makes this community so welcoming is our ability to welcome and connect with people who we’ve never met before, find some common ground, and bring them into the community.

I plan to apply this to SWC by making an effort to truly meet and talk to each one of my campers and those on my leadership team - whether we are old friends or completely new to each other. SWC can be an intimidating community to join for the first time, and by getting to know my campers, I can show them how truly welcoming this community is and how really not scary leaders are. I remember I looked up to many of the SWC leaders in my early sessions, and I was so intimidated to talk to them because they were leaders, and looking back, I think I did struggle to integrate myself into the community at first. I think that by connecting with my campers, especially newer campers, I’ll be able to make them feel welcomed into the community.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 9 ✧ Cabin Atmosphere

“A warm and welcoming cabin focused on building friendships and cabin bonding, with a relaxed outlook on the leaderboard.” (120 characters)

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 10 ✧ Checkboxes

Yes, I will be able to add points in the main cabin during the session
Yes, I am willing to share a promotional project for SWC

I am able to carry out all the responsibilities of a leader.

If a leader in my cabin went inactive without warning, I’d first contact them after a few days of no response just to see how they’re doing. If they don’t respond to my message after four or five days, I’d inform the hosts of the leader’s inactivity and discuss with my team how we can proceed without a leader, such as wrapping up the storyline. In the meantime, if the leader was due to share a project or post a storyline part that wasn’t done, I would see if we could change who’s doing what parts just to keep the storyline moving and also take over adding words for them.

If a leader in my cabin went inactive with notice, I’d talk to my team and figure out how we can plan around that inactivity, if it’s for longer than a few days - such as changing who’s in charge of what projects, etc. I’d also check with them to make sure the hosts were aware of their inactivity, and if they haven’t been informed, inform them myself.

Finally, if I went inactive, I’d let my leadership team know as much of the situation as I can, and then talk to them about how they can proceed, such as changing the storyline and having them take over word adding for my word count group. I’d also inform the hosts as soon as I can of my inactivity.

⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆

Question 11 ✧ Bonus

I think I would be a dolphin! Dolphins are highly intelligent animals, as well as curious and playful, and I think it reflects my love of learning and curiosity about the world. Dolphins are highly social creatures as well, as as an ambivert I think that reflects my personality pretty well - once you get to know me, I probably won’t stop yapping my head off about things!

Critique for Skylar!! <33

About me

This is amazing, honestly can’t see anything wrong with it! Unless I’m not sure if the punctuation of ‘I’m totally not biased as a STEM kid, totally not~’ is right with the dash thing?? But I love how you go into everything in really good detail so it sounds really personal instead of just listing stuff. Off to a great start!

Experience

Skylar you’re making this critique too hard…
This is again really good, shows a lot of maturity and how you’ve developed over sessions. I’d maybe add one sentence saying how you enjoy leading as I’m not sure that’s actually in there?

Secreteriat bit looks great! I love when people put real life concrete evidence in their apps it makes me so happy hehe

I would finish up the last sentence of this questions a bit cleaner, it seems to not really conclude if you get what I mean? Just one short sentence more would be good. If you don’t understand what I mean (understandable) please ask <3

Cabin prefs

I love your ideas aaaa!! Also another alien cabin would be iconic lol
Nothing to say for this one really!

Time dedication

Nicely done, it balances it up nicely and is not too pessimistic with your commitments. Maybe provide a rough numerical amount for Sundays? If you wanted to add a bit more, you could say roughly what times of day you check in (eg ‘I check every morning and then after school) but completely not necessary <3

Time management

I like your honesty! I would maybe add one more strength (if you have one worth talking about) or elaborate on how well your new methods are working, just to make it a little more positive. But I do think being properly reflective is really good rather than not addressing your actual weaknesses

Collaboration

Nothing to change here I don’t think!

One quality

This is so beautiful omg <3 Like honestly this is amazing, and I think this idea with resonate with everyone who reads it.

Rest all looks good!! Honestly Skylar this is an amazing app, I wish I had written it I wish you all the best of luck, but I really don’t think you’ll be needing much let me know if you want any clarification or critiques of further drafts <33

about me

Hi there! I’m Cat (or Ari), your average music-obsessed teen. My pronouns are she/her, and I reside in the lovely timezone of CST.

To begin with, music has been a huge part of my life since I was little. I’ve been playing viola for more than 8 years, and I’m currently a part of my city’s renowned youth orchestra. I recently got the opportunity to buy my own viola, which I’m very excited about (although we’re still closing the deal). Viola is a huge part of my life, and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped me along my journey to get where I am today!

But that’s not all! I’m an amateur singer (an alto), aspiring pianist (working through my mom’s old piano books at an excruciatingly slow pace), and overall music enthusiast! My favorite artists include Clairo, The Marías, Men I Trust, Lana Del Rey, Hozier, and beabadoobee. I also plan to take a music theory class and a year-long chamber music program next year!

Naturally, writing is another huge creative outlet of mine. I’ve recently been getting into poetry, which is a powerful way to express myself. I’m also an avid reader! I love diving into new worlds, exploring different perspectives, and being fully immersed in a story. Some of my favorite books include the Powerless trilogy by Lauren Roberts, the Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo, and Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. I’m currently reading The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes and Mindwise by Nicholas Epley.

Now, if you’ve read any of my past apps, you may have discovered my obsession with psychology! It’s been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember, how our minds function and how we take care of ourselves… fascinating, isn’t it? My dream is to major in psychology and become a therapist when I’m older. I could go on for ages, but just know it’s something I care about and want to explore in the future.

More than anything, I love to connect with people! Although I’m an introvert, I deeply enjoy talking to people, learning about them, and helping them. Well, of course I do, I want to be a therapist! I try my best to be friendly and approachable, so if you’re ever looking for someone to talk to, I’m here <3

⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅ ꕤ ⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅

experience

This upcoming March will be my seventh session of SWC. I’ve participated in a total of 25 sessions of scratch camps (6 of them being SWC), and out of those sessions, I have been a camper 12 times, a co-leader 5 times, and a leader 8 times. I have been a (co)host 4 times, and I have also been a member of both the SWC Memory Book Committee and the daily team twice.

Here is a rundown of my SWC history (with a link to my full camp history in my app description):

SWC Nov ‘23 - Fairy Tale Academy (camper)
SWC Jul ‘24 - Script Podcast (camper)
SWC Nov ‘24 - Dystopian Chosen Ones (co-leader with Ris and Niko)
SWC March ‘25 - Illu-fi Spiderverse - (co-leader with Mouse, Ave, and Amber)
SWC July ‘25 - Classics Cat cafe (tctwnw) (co-leader with Alia and Alana, daily team, MBC)
SWC November ‘25 - Fantasy Persona 5 (leader with Liv and Veni, daily team, MBC)

In the past, I have founded one writing camp, and I am currently a (co)host of three camps.

Outside of SWC, I’m a coordinator of the Unofficial Memory Book Committee and host of the (Co)leader Application Support Center. I also manage Scratch Chat and host the top OC RP. In real life, I have lots of leadership experience from orchestra and I often take the lead in group projects in school.

As for experience with writing, I’ve always enjoyed writing in many different forms. For me, it’s more than just a hobby. It’s a way to express ideas, explore different perspectives, and bring my creativity to life. I love challenging myself to improve and try new approaches in my work. I’ve also participated in several real-life writing camps that led me to explore a variety of genres and get useful feedback on my work. These experiences have significantly helped me grow as a writer.

⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅ ꕤ ⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅

cabin preferences

I would be delighted to co-lead any cabin, but my preferred genres would be Magical Realism, Fairy Tales, Fantasy, and Steampunk. I would prefer to avoid the cabins Hi-fi, Non-fi, and Horror, as I’m inexperienced with those genres and don’t particularly enjoy them. While I have my preferred genres, I’m happy to co-lead any cabin and am open to exploring genres outside my list!

I would be happy to co-lead TCTWNW this session. I co-led TCTWNW last July, and I think my experience from that could be useful during cabin planning.

writing excerpt

This was a daily from the November 2025 session.
(313 words)

Evelyn walked slowly along the empty park path, the sky melting from sunset red into a deep, warm blue. The air smelled faintly of rain and grass, and the soft rustle of leaves made the world feel hushed. Beside her, Levi matched her pace, his hands tucked into the pockets of his hoodie.

“You’re quiet tonight,” he said, tilting his head to look at her big, blue eyes.

“I’m just… thinking,” she murmured, a slight smile on her face.

He grinned, small and warm, and for a moment the world seemed to fold in around them—quiet, glowing, and still. A blue butterfly, pale and delicate, flew past, circling the lamppost near them before landing on a low oak branch. The two of them stopped without thinking, watching its fragile wings beat in the soft light.

“Don’t move,” Levi whispered.

Evelyn held her breath. The butterfly lingered on the sleeve of her hoodie just long enough for her to feel it, and then it lifted into the air again, drifting toward the horizon.

She looked at Levi. His chestnut colored hair caught the light, his eyes gentle, and her chest ached in the most surprising way. She loved him—fully, quietly, with a fragility that made her wonder if it could last.

And yet, even as the thought came, she understood: happiness is a butterfly. You can’t hold it too tightly. It comes, it lands, it lifts—and sometimes all you can do is watch it soar.

Evelyn smiled, a soft and fleeting curve of her lips, and kept walking beside him. Step by step, she let herself feel the moment—beautiful, delicate, real—without trying to grasp it.

As the sky shifted, so did her thoughts—moving to a place of peace and serenity, gentle but eternal as the stars in the night sky. She breathed, and the night held her warmly, as if letting her stay forever.

⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅ ꕤ ⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅

time dedication

I should be able to consistently dedicate at least 1.5 hours each day to SWC, and more if cabin planning requires it.

My main commitments include viola lessons on Wednesday nights and rehearsals on Saturdays, along with flexible daily viola practice. These activities should not interfere with my ability to contribute to SWC, and I have previously led a cabin with the same workload. I am able to consistently check in and get work done every evening.

At the moment, I don’t have any major conflicts planned between the end of January and the end of March. If anything unexpected comes up, I’ll promptly notify my leadership team and the hosts.

⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅ ꕤ ⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅

time management

Time management is a skill I’ve worked on intentionally, especially over the past year. I’ve experimented with different techniques—like time-blocking, prioritizing tasks, and setting realistic goals—to understand what helps me stay focused and productive. These habits not only help me complete my own work efficiently but also make me a more reliable collaborator.

Here’s a list of my strengths in time management:

- Organization
Organization is one of my biggest strengths—I enjoy creating detailed to-do lists and schedules. When working with others, I make a point to share my schedules and task lists with them to make sure we’re on the same page. I consistently finish tasks on time—deadlines actually motivate me, and I often set them for both myself and my team to keep things on track. I have a calendar with phone notifications and a synchronized to-do list that pairs across my devices so nothing ever slips through the cracks. I organize my tasks by deadline and priority, which allows me to manage my time efficiently. This skill has been especially valuable in past leadership roles.

- Low Procrastination
I rarely procrastinate. I intentionally design my schedules to spread tasks out over multiple days, which helps prevent burnout while maintaining productivity. I stick to these schedules consistently, allowing me to complete tasks efficiently while managing my time in a sustainable way. This strength also helps me keep a healthy balance between life and SWC.

- Calm Under Stress
I remain calm and focused under stress, even when managing multiple deadlines or responsibilities at once. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, I rely on my planning systems to break tasks into manageable steps and adjust my schedules as needed. This enhances both my adaptability and reliability and allows me to stay productive, make clear decisions, and support my team during high-stress situations.

Here’s a list of my shortcomings in time management:

- Overcommitment
One of my main shortcomings in time management is overcommitment. I am highly motivated and enjoy being involved, which often leads me to step in when I see something that needs to be done or when others may need extra support. While this initiative can be beneficial, it sometimes causes me to take on more responsibilities than I can realistically handle at once, stretching my time and reducing my efficiency. I also tend to struggle with saying no, especially when I feel my contribution could be valuable. To manage this, I have been working on being more intentional and mindful about my commitments by honestly evaluating how long tasks will take, my current workload and deadlines, and whether taking on additional responsibilities is something I can realistically handle. This approach has helped me better balance being proactive and supportive with maintaining a sustainable and effective schedule.

- Perfectionism
Another shortcoming of mine when it comes to time management is perfectionism. I often have a clear vision of how I want my work to turn out, which can lead to spending too much time refining small details, especially in creative tasks like art or design. While I still aim to put in my best effort and produce high-quality work, I’ve learned that trying to make everything flawless can dramatically slow my progress. To manage this better, I set limits on how much time I spend on any given task, allowing me to stay productive. Before starting any final fine-tuning, I pause to check if I’m genuinely happy with the result—if I am, I know it’s good enough for me to move on.

⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅ ꕤ ⋅⋆ ───────── ⋆⋅

collaboration & assets

As someone who loves to connect with people, I really value collaboration! The social aspect is honestly my favorite part of (co)leading, and I love to learn about the people I’m working with.

Here’s a list of my strengths in collaboration:

- Listening
I believe that every idea has potential, and taking the time to understand different perspectives can lead to better solutions and stronger teamwork. When people feel genuinely heard, they are more confident and willing to contribute, which strengthens the overall dynamic. I try my best to ensure that everyone feels their input matters. Listening isn’t just about being quiet, it’s about actively engaging and showing that I value the opinions of everyone on the leadership team.

- Honesty
Open and honest communication is incredibly important to me. I’m not afraid to speak up if something is unclear or if I see a potential problem. I ask questions, seek clarification, and make sure I understand the full picture so that my contributions are accurate and helpful. I believe transparency and clear communication prevent misunderstandings, keep the team aligned, and encourage an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas.

- Reliability
Reliability is one of my biggest strengths in collaboration. I can stay focused under pressure, which allows me to support my leadership team during high-stress situations. At the same time, I make sure to follow through on my work consistently, completing tasks on time and fulfilling my responsibilities. This combination of steadiness and dependability helps ensure that my leadership team can function smoothly, even when challenges arise.

Here’s a list of my weaknesses in collaboration:

- People-pleasing
One of my biggest weaknesses in collaboration is people-pleasing. Although I can be fairly outgoing, I sometimes struggle to fight for my ideas, especially if others disagree. I tend to avoid conflict, which can prevent me from advocating for my perspective as strongly as I should. I’m actively working on building confidence in expressing my opinions while remaining respectful. I like to remind myself that my contributions are valued and my voice should be heard.

- Indecisiveness
I sometimes struggle to take the initiative to make decisions, especially when I want to truly hear and consider everyone’s input. While seeking opinions is valuable, spending too much time pondering those opinions can slow down planning and make progress feel delayed. I’m working on taking initiative when necessary and helping my leadership team make decisions in a timely manner while still being thoughtful about others’ perspectives. I do this by simply saying, “Well, we do have to decide now,” and leading my team on the right path to a quick decision. Learning to balance thoughtfulness with taking initiative is helping me become more confident in guiding projects forward and supporting my leadership team effectively.

In terms of assets, I enjoy art, and I’d be happy to draw matching profile pictures for my cabin. I have access to collaborative Canva, and I can do some graphic design. I’m also incredibly organized, which helps my leadership team stay aligned.

one quality

One quality I value in a leader is adaptability. I know cabin plans rarely go as expected, and I’ve seen too many promising storylines and activities left incomplete due to factors like inactivity, unforeseen challenges, or plans simply not working out as expected. These experiences have shown me how important it is for a leader to be flexible rather than rigidly sticking to an original plan.

Backup plans are an important part of this. For example, last session, my leadership team knew things might not go exactly as planned, so we wanted to be prepared for any unexpected changes. We planned many activities, and although only a few didn’t end up happening, it was fine because we had backup plans ready. Part of these plans was making some challenges optional—so if problems came up, we could skip them and adapt to that. In the end, we didn’t need to skip the optional challenges, but a few other activities didn’t happen. Even so, our backup plans let us adjust smoothly and keep the story moving. We finished our storyline, and it turned out great. Without those backup plans, our storyline wouldn’t have been as strong or successful.

I plan to apply adaptability in my leadership roles by continuing to always make backup plans and practice good communication. By keeping my team informed and open to discussion, I aim to ensure that my leadership team can adjust to any challenges that arise.

checkboxes

a.
✓ I will be available consistently throughout camp to help add points.
✓ I am willing to share a promotional project for SWC.

b.
I can complete all the responsibilities listed in the FAQ.

c.
In case of inactivity by myself, I would alert fellow members of my leadership team and the hosts in advance. I would also do my best to make sure everything will be running smoothly in my absence and make sure my team would have everything they need for the rest of the session. If needed, I would help find another co-leader to help out.

If I went inactive without knowing about it in advance, I would try to find time to send a brief message to my team about my inactivity and notify the hosts.

In case of unplanned inactivity by another member of my leadership team, I would check to make sure they haven't been active in the past five days or so and contact them. If they are inactive for at least seven days, I would then discuss that with the other members of my team and contact the hosts to come up with a plan!

roads to home 。・゚゚・ ・゚゚・。 lune's swc co-leader app

About me (371 words)

Hi hi hi! I’m Lune, commonly pronounced ‘loon’, ‘loon-ay’, ‘loon-eh’, ‘loon-ey’ or whatever floats your pronunciation boat.
I go by the pronouns of she/her, and I’m a slightly artsy bookworm (as well as theater kid) in the Ecstatically Stubborn Turtle (EST) timezone who spends most of their time, you guessed it, READING! It’s quite probably the one thing I do most in life besides sleeping, breathing, eating, and other things that one can’t really live without doing. My favorite books are The Hunger Games (specifically Ballad and Sunrise), The Inheritance Games, The Naturals, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and so many others.
My favorite genres to read are fantasy, mystery, mythology, and real-fi, especially fantasy and mystery! Fantasy has been my favorite for a while, but Mystery has begun to start catching up.
Enough about books.
(Who are we kidding? There’s never enough.)
As far as music tastes go, I’m all for Taylor Swift (I’m a huge Swiftie), Sierra Sikora, whom most of you will not have heard of, and…. broadway! All different kinds: sweet love songs, huge dance numbers, comedic characters singing about something very funny, non-comedic characters being very funny, power songs, villain songs, and really anything.
My favorite genres to write are…. pretty much the same as the genres I read in. Mostly fantasy. I write a LOT of fantasy. But Bi-fi and Mystery are definitely close seconds!
I also love bugs. Some of my favorites are roly-polies, moths, and cicadas! They’re exceedingly adorable to me, although I know most people don’t think so.
I’ve recently been getting more into chess. As it turns out, I love it. Everything about it is perfect to me; the feel of the pieces, the satisfaction of capturing pieces, and how nothing feels unexpected or even too competitive.
My favorite sport is tetherball. Sadly, I’ve only played it a couple times, considering there isn’t exactly a tetherball team nearby. I’m not sure there’s even a public tetherball pole I can practice with. So that’s that. Hopefully my tetherball dreams will be secured in the near future!
So, that’s me. Lune. A book-reading, theater-obsessed, bug-loving, chess-playing, and tetherball-hopeful writer and SWCer with a love for chaos.

Experience (771 words)

I’ve participated in three sessions of SWC and am currently participating 3 sessions of other camps, summing up to 5 sessions altogether.
It doesn’t sound like a lot, I know, but each one has given me a lot of knowledge in leadership, writing, and how Scratch camps work.
I started SWC in March ‘25 with no knowledge of what I was getting myself into. I sort of ended my first session that way too. I wasn’t very active; yes, signed up for the critiquaire once, did a few of the dailies, participated in my cabin (Fantasy)’s storyline and did a word war or two, but I didn’t truly become part of the community until my second session.
In Bi-fi July ‘25, I felt like I was rediscovering SWC. The session before, I had in no way had any idea of the chaos and wonderfulness that this place really was. I did every part of it that a camper could: weeklies, dailies, word wars, critiquaires, storyline, the writing competition, but most of all the chaos and sense of belonging that comes with being truly a part of this amazing writing community.
My last session, Fairy Tales November ‘25, I was a bit less active in the activities themselves, but I found the same support if not more in the chaotic people that make SWC what it truly is: a place for writers to find motivation, ideas, and friendship that will keep you going even through hard times, whether in writing or mind.
My other notable experience in Scratch camps would be (Co)Leader Application Support Center. I’m currently hosting (C)LASC with Cat and Kiara, and I had given me so much knowledge into what (co)leading is like. I’ve never done anything quite like it, and I absolutely love it. It’s a level of commitment that I’ve had a taste of before but never fully comprehended it, and it’s taught me so much about time management, making decisions, compromising, and a lot of other things.
As for writing experience in general, I have been a writer for around 4 years. I’m not sure my ideas were truly coherent enough to be turned into actual writing before then! Before SWC, the only things I wrote were school assignments or a novel (sadly, I have never finished a novel. However, I do have around 12 abandoned ones in my Google drive!). And then I joined SWC, and I realized there was a lot more to writing than novels and school assignments. Now my Google drive is filled with dailies and weeklies!
I don’t have any accolades or awards for my writing. I don’t usually enter in any contests or anything like that besides for SWC, and I’ve never won anything for that. I’m not really that type of writer. I write to enjoy myself and to laugh and to get my ideas out on paper.
With leadership positions, I haven’t had as much as I would like, but the ones I have had have actually been extremely helpful and I learned a lot from them! I was co-president of a student-run group that lasted much longer than anyone would’ve expected, and president of the Student Council, which was definitely one of the biggest leadership positions I’ve been in. I also helped start a book club, which has been going on for almost a year, even if there is no set ‘leader’ of that, and I’ve actually learned a lot from that, bringing me help with planning, compromising, keeping peace, and more. I definitely tend to veer towards the leader side in group projects as well, most of the time being the one keeping everyone else on track.
SWC is amazing. This community is unlike anything else I’ve ever done, and it’s so so important to me. I love it. It’s brought me skills in both leadership and writing, because although I haven’t (co)led a cabin yet, there’s something about it that just helps with leadership (and I think we all know why it helps with writing). I can’t name it; I don’t know what it is, exactly, that helps, but there’s something there that helps me check the things I need to check, to manage my time, and to just do a better job at working.
To be completely honest, I know I’m not the most experienced person applying for co-leader, in writing or leadership. My journey to a full-fledged writer and leader might not be done yet. But that is why I want to be a co-leader. I want this experience. I want to take another step in that journey.

Cabin Preferences (212 words)

I’d be happy to co-lead any cabin this session. I’ve never co-led before, so any and all of them will be an adventure!
I have plenty of ideas for storylines, but seeing as I’m not ready for a leader role, it’s probably for the best if I don’t take up too much space here (insert a large and disappointed sigh here).
On a more realistic note, I would love to do anything fantasy-mythology related, mystery-related, or, for more specific preferences, Script, Lyric, Journalism, Fantasy, Mythology, Gothic, Mystery (a lighter mystery sounds amazing, and it would be such a nice change, but I’m up for nearly any kind of mystery), Classics, Magical Realism, and Poetry, or anything related to those. However, I would *prefer* not to lead Action, Romance, Contemporary, Sci-fi, or Horror, although it would depend almost completely on the storyline, but considering I am not a huge fan of writing or reading these genres, it might not be the very best thing for me. However, I have seen versions of these that looked incredible, so I’m not ruling anything out!
As for TCTWNTW, I would be happy to lead it this session! Although I slightly prefer the competitive side of SWC, I’m definitely up for a more relaxed cabin this session.

Excerpt

You can find my excerpt here!

Time Dedication (194 words)

I expect to be able to dedicate at least one hour or more every day to SWC, except for Monday, when I have theater and don’t have much free time. School, the occasional unexpected activity after school, and weekend trips might lessen my time on a weekly basis, but I will try my best to at least notify you that I’ll be gone for that afternoon. Theater is my only weekly extracurricular and takes up two hours after school, so although I can’t offer much time, you can expect at the very least a check-in to make sure everything’s going all right.
I expect to be able to dedicate 2-3 hours to SWC on weekends, and 1-2 on weekdays.
If I were to be unavailable for a day or more, I’d let my team know in advance. During February, I might be on vacation for a week at most, that week falling around the 14th to the 22nd. I can still work on brainstorming during this time, I just might not be online.
I believe that’s all as far as plans go- if anything whatsoever changes, I won’t delay in letting my team know!

Time Management (855 words)

To be completely honest, I’m not the best at time management. It’s often my greatest setback in getting things done. I’m working on it, though; in fact this app itself I would say is one of my greatest accomplishments in time management. So it goes to show I’m getting better at it.
A huge weakness in time management for me would be procrastination. I know it’s a rather common problem, especially for SWCers, so an answer like this is probably pretty common in apps. However, since it’s one of my biggest issues with time management, I feel the need to make it especially clear. What often happens for me is I’ll see something I have to do, shrug it off, forget about it, and then the deadline creeps up on me without me noticing and suddenly I’m rushing to get it done.
However, I’ve been getting better at this. Instead of just telling myself ‘I’ll do it whenever I feel like it’, I make a firm plan for when I’m going to do it. Instead of always thinking I’ll do it it after dinner, when I’m tired and forgetful, I’ll do it in the morning, on the bus, or right after I get home from school.
Another weakness would be putting too much on myself to do. I have a hard time saying no to people; more often than not you can find me saying ‘I’ll do it for homework’ when my group isn’t done with something even though someone else has more time than me; setting myself up with an idea that’s way too complicated for the set amount of time; or volunteering to do something, trying to forget about the other stuff I already have going on. Then I’ll get home and get incredibly overwhelmed by all of the stuff I have to do. Lately, I’ve been trying to get as much done in class as possible and only give myself one thing to do at home instead of five.
I’m definitely getting there. With the last big school project I did, I made the huge mistake of coming up with a complicated 6-part stop motion video, and we only had a week to do it. Even less for me, as I took 3 of those days practicing and getting my supplies together. When the deadline came, I only had one of those parts finished. It shouldn’t have been a surprise; I knew how long stop motion took, but I wanted to do something incredible. Instead of freaking out when I didn’t finish, however, I adapted it and turned it into a new video based completely off of the one part.
I’m getting a thousand times better at this whole time management thing, and I’m still improving, day after day.
To combat these weaknesses, let’s move on to some strengths.
Even though I procrastinate to extreme amounts, I’m good at efficiency. When I start something, I don’t move slowly. I get everything I can done in the time that I have, so I almost always finish with a project that satisfies the requirements! This could help me when I need to get something like a storyline project done quickly for whatever reason!
Another thing would be determination. If I make up my mind to do something, or get something done, I will get it done, no matter what happens in the process. If I decide that I’m going to write that long introduction in 10 minutes because I have to go eat dinner, I absolutely will. If something is worth doing to me, I’ll do it.
Focusing would be another one of my natural abilities. When I start working, I’ll keep working. I’m good at not getting distracted in things like this- I can put all of my mind towards one thing and feel motivated in the process, especially when I have an achievable goal in mind. I’m able to push my mind into something for hours at a time, especially if that something has to do with writing.
I’m flexible- if there are bumps on the road or I’m not in a great spot to achieve my original goal, I’ll shift my plan towards whatever works in the scenario. If I end up on a surprise vacation on the weekend I was planning to do something for the storyline online, I can draft out an introduction or draw a draft for a thumbnail to get that out of the way instead. If I realize that the way I’m doing something isn’t going to work, I’ll change the rest of my project to fit the new way.
Despite my many weaknesses, I think that time management is something that I’m really getting better at. My list of strengths is slowly getting longer; and although I think that these issues might stay with me for a long time, the ways I’m dealing with them will go with them every step of the way. I can do a good job in this position because I know my faults and I know how to push through them, so I can do everything I need to do.

Collaboration + Assets (898 words)

Collaboration is an interesting thing for me. I enjoy it a lot when I have ideas and a group that’s easy to work with- but I can get stressed quickly in a situation where my partners are hard to work with, or I can’t figure out what to do with the task at hand.
I’ll start with my strengths in collaboration.
I’m actually pretty open-minded, and I’ll go along with almost anything in a group project, even if I can get pretty bossy, something that will most definitely come up in the weaknesses section. I’m good at combining ideas to make compromises if people can’t agree- I’m a peacemaker, so you can count on my doing whatever I can to prevent an argument.
I love organization and will happily assign roles or create a schedule or timetable or anything like that!
I’m almost always full of ideas and, unless I feel stressed or unheard, will definitely share them if I think they could help. Similarly, I’m a problem-solver, so I’m often pretty quick to offer a solution to a problem if I’m given a little bit of time to think.
Although I’m sort of naturally bossy, I’m more than willing and capable of letting other people take the steering wheel.
Now, we move on to my weaknesses.
In group work, I have two problems I tend to get myself into: I step back and just go with what everyone else says because no one listens to me, or try to take control. Neither of these strategies always end up perfectly; if I feel like I’m not being heard, I’ll be too shy to say anything if I have a good idea, and if I get too bossy I might end up not listening to others. Sadly, for some reason I’m hardwired to try to have things under my control.
These two problems are both huge umbrellas for my other problems.
In the first scenario, I’m usually afraid to tell people if I can’t get something done, or am not okay with something, or need to take a break, for fear I’ll annoy them or derail the whole thing. This is probably one of my biggest problems in collaboration, but I’m working on it. I’m trying to speak up and ask for help. My hope is that by the end of this school year I’ll be braver and more able to voice my problems.
And in the second scenario, when I think that my idea is better, or when I’m not a fan of someone else’s idea, I might really push for my idea or get upset or stressed. This leads to either other people being slightly hurt or me not being able to accomplish what I could if I wasn’t stressed.
But I’m trying to get better. At the beginning of each group project (or anything similar) I explain to my partners my problem and ask them to, whenever I start to get too bossy or pushy or anything like that, tell me. This has helped me so much, and not even as much in practice as the idea of it. Even just explaining it helps my brain realize how to let go of it’s tight grip. I honestly can’t even remember a time when anyone has told me that I’m getting too pushy after I explained it.
Lastly, this one is sort of both a strength and a weakness. Mostly a weakness, but occasionally it can help me make things better.
My perfectionism and people-pleaser-ness.
I have an insatiable need to make everything perfect and not disappoint anyone. If I can’t get something right, it stresses me out so much. So, so much. And under a bit of criticism, I usually won’t fail to crumple inside. Less so in SWC, I will admit, but this is still my biggest problem with collaboration. I’m really, truly trying my best to hold my head up when someone tells me to change how I’m doing something, and to realize that not everything needs to be the best thing I’ve ever created. I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself to be perfect, and it brings me a lot of stress. So I’m trying, really trying, to get better at it.
Assets time!
I, like any other co-leader, will give you another set of hands, another mind with different ideas to contribute, and someone to talk to.
But a few things that are more unique to me: for starters, I love making ciphers and riddles, even if I’m not the best at the latter.
I enjoy research, though I have limitations set by my parents about the things I’m looking up.
I’m happy to dive into Canva and design a thumbnail or create a slideshow, although my coding skills are practically non-existent.
I obviously love writing, so narrative introductions and such are a joy.
I’m decent at art, so feel free to give me the job of making profile pictures, so long as I’m capable of drawing the pictures in question.
Cabin planning is definitely something at the top of my list as far as things I’m looking forward to, and I can contribute loads of ideas. I can also provide chaos and silliness, of course, especially in desperate times, otherwise known as when the mood is starting to get stressful or someone is getting upset, but really any time.

One Quality (407 words)

There are a lot of leadership qualities out there. It’s so hard to pick just one. And beyond just the meaning, what the quality implies.
But the one thing I’ve always admired in a leader is being friendly.
It doesn’t sound that important upon first glance.
But when you think back to the cabins you’ve loved the most, how many of them were because your (co)leaders felt less like outsiders and more like friends?
When I first joined SWC, I kind of viewed (co)leaders as these intimidating figures who weren’t really part of the community. This wasn’t to any fault of anyone in the community. It was my mind, all in all.
But when I actually tried to talk to my (co)leaders, I immediately noticed that they weren’t terrifying at all.
They weren’t really any different from me.
So if I’m chosen to be a co-leader this session, I have my heart set on making it feel like a digital home for my campers.
And when I say friendliness, I don’t mean being gregarious or super social or extraverted.
I mean being welcoming. Being understanding. Being a part of the cabin, not just someone co-leading it.
I don’t think a cabin is really worth its salt if it’s not welcoming. If the (co)leaders don’t feel like people you can talk to, people who understand.
I know I can embody this trait as a co-leader because I know what it feels like to be able to talk to your (co)leader.
I also know that I can be a co-leader without letting go of the chaos that creates the heart of SWC.
So my trait isn’t that I’m experienced, because as you’ve seen in my experience section, I’m at the very beginning of my writing and leadership journey.
It isn’t that I’m the best at time management, because I’m not.
I don’t think that those things truly make a cabin.
I think that having a bond with the people in your cabin, not being scared of them, is what makes a cabin.
So that’s why my one quality is friendliness. Because a cabin isn’t truly a good cabin without it. Because I think I can hold on to my chaos and enthusiasm and all of the things that make a co-leader truly ‘friendly’ even while being busy with cabin planning. I’m not going to separate myself from this community because I'm co-leading a cabin.

Cabin Atmosphere (33 words)

“A welcoming, energetic, and close-knit community with motivation, chaos, inside jokes, support for both personal and SWC-related writing, and intriguing storylines abound, and just a sprinkle of friendly competition!” (188 characters excluding spaces)

Checkboxes (253 words)

A.
✓ I can add words consistently throughout camp so long as it is through either Canva or Scratch, as my Google account will share personal information.
✓ I’m completely willing to share a SWC promotional project!
B. As said, I can only add words if this is something done through Scratch and/or Canva, but as long as this is not a problem, then no, there is nothing mention in the FAQ that I cannot complete!
C. After 5 or more days of inactivity, I will contact my team member to see if they are still on the site and ask if they are still going to be actively helping with the cabin, and in the case that they say they will not be active or give no response, I will try a few days reassigning the roles given to that person, giving more of my time towards the cabin, and see if we are able to work as well in their absence. If not, I will work with the rest of my team (if said team exists) and find the most likely candidate to help in our cabin as well as asking for advice from past (co)leaders who have delt with the same problem before.
In case of expected inactivity on my side, I will let my team know if there is even a slight chance it might happen and help them decide what to do in my absence instead of letting them figure it out themselves.

Bonus Question (38 words)

Oooh, what a fun bonus question we have here… I’d have to say a sea bunny because of their chaoticness- it’s a nudibranch disguised as a bunny!
What more could you really want? Also, it’s adorable. That too.

Cabin Preferences

Time Dedication

Time Management

Collaboration + Assets

One Quality

Cabin Atmosphere

“A welcoming, energetic, and close-knit community with motivation, chaos, inside jokes, support for both personal and SWC-related writing, and intriguing storylines abound, and just a sprinkle of friendly competition!” (188 characters excluding spaces)

Checkboxes

Bonus Question

Oooh, what a fun bonus question we have here… I’d have to say a sea bunny because of their chaoticness- it’s a nudibranch disguised as a bunny!
What more could you really want? Also, it’s adorable. That too.
How much is that

1. Tell us about yourself!

Hi, I'm Lyra, a Spanish teen who is in love with physics! My pronouns are she/her, I live in the CET timezone and I enjoy learning about basically anything. My hobbies include reading, drawing, writing (wow really?), coding, graphic designing, and more!
Books are a huge part of my life. I’ve always loved creating and reading about imaginary worlds or characters (I am currently reading The House in the Cerulean Sea), and my favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, adventure, and real-fi, but I also enjoy reading non-fi. In fact, the theme of this app was inspired by Bill Bryson’s book, A Short History of Nearly Everything.
If you’ve ever stalked me read my about me, you probably know that I love STEM. As I said before, my favorite science is physics, and I hope to study that in the future. I also love astronomy, I am a huge astronomy nerd. Fun fact for you, my online name is a constellation, and my username is a meteor shower.
Music is also really important for me. I play the piano (I started learning at age 5) and the violin, and I also enjoy singing (but I don’t want to share my voice on Scratch </3). Currently, I don’t have any favorite artists, and I listen to songs from many different groups/artists.
Oh, you want more fun facts? Alright then!
· My parents are from China
· I’m an atheist
· I have a telescope
· I speak 4 languages: English, Spanish, Catalan and Mandarin Chinese, and I’m also learning French
Feel free to talk to me! I don’t bite. I may be introverted and quiet in real life, but online, I’m more extroverted, chaotic, and I love meeting new people and talking to people I already know.

2. Previous Participation

I’ve participated in 3 sessions of SWC:
· Shiz University ♞ Fantasy SWC March ‘25 | Camper
My first session of SWC! I didn’t know what an active main cabin, SWChaos, and competition felt like until I joined. I had lots of fun, made amazing friends, and got to know people. I was really active during the session, and joined the community.
· The Classics Cat Cafe ☕︎ TCTWNW SWC July ‘25 | Camper
Even though I was really inactive during the second part of the session (I went to China and Scratch was banned there), I experienced being a camper in TCTWNW. Before the start of that session, I discovered in-between-session activity, watched others make progress and create leader apps, and participated in the question & answer bandwagons in the March ’25 main cabin when the July session started.
· The Action Intelligence Agency ✪ SWC November 2025 | Camper
It was the session I was most active in! I made so many friends and had a lot of fun. I entered the SWC writing competition for the first time.

Other camps I’ve participated in:
· The Chemistry Lab ❀ SXC Dec 2024 | Camper
My first session of Scratch Camps! I didn’t know how everything worked, and I was quite inactive for most of the session, but I made some friends, did some dailies, and followed people. And that’s how I found out about…
· The Joker Carnival ♔ JWC ‘25 | Camper
JWC ’25 was the session of a Writing Camp I’ve ever joined. I joined as a backup camper and learned about word count groups, cabin leaderboard, cabin wars, and other activities.
· The escape room ꗃ Physics SXC April ’25 | Leader
Physics SXC April ’25 was my first time leading a cabin. It was a small camp, but I learned to make a leader application, create activities, cabin merch, help write dailies, and much more. It taught me a lot about leading and managing a cabin.
· Mystery Mansion ꄗ JWC 2026 | Leader
My first time leading a cabin in a more active camp, with storylines, profile pictures, and competition. I'm now guiding new JWCers, exactly 1 year after I joined a writing camp for the first time.

I don’t really have a lot of experience in writing, and I’m Spanish, so I don’t usually write in English. I won a really small competition that my school organizes every year in 2 languages once, I’ve placed second in a Catalan writing competition, and that’s basically it.

3. Cabin Preferences

I’m applying for co, so I don’t really have any cabin preferences. I’d love to co-lead any cabin, but I’d prefer not to co-lead Romance, Script or Poetry since I’m not familiar with these genres, and I don't think they fit me.
I’d also prefer not to co-lead TCTWNW, since I enjoy the competitive aspect of SWC, and I think it motivates me to write and check in more often.

5. Time Dedication

My free time varies a lot. On Mondays, I have almost no free time, but on the rest of the weekdays, I expect to be able to dedicate at least half an hour to SWC. On Fridays and weekends, I will probably be able to dedicate at least one hour to SWC.
I may be traveling abroad on the last days of March (the 29th or 30th, I don’t know for sure yet), but I will still be able to check in every day. Apart from that, I don’t have any plans that could significantly reduce my free time.

──── ‹ ⛰︎ ‧₊ ⛏︎˚ › ────

6. Time Management

One of my skills is being able to meet deadlines! At school, I never forget to do my homework, and always finish in time. I leave tasks and procrastinate sometimes, but I will never miss a deadline. Especially when other people are relying on me.

One of my weaknesses is my lack of organization: I never use timetables, techniques like pomodoro, or anything. I just can't follow these kinds of schedules. I just start with a simple to-do list with deadlines and do the tasks one by one, and it works for me… But sometimes, with large tasks, I struggle with spreading them out evenly. I'm working on improving, and I'm trying different techniques to prioritize tasks.

──── ‹ ⛰︎ ‧₊ ⛏︎˚ › ────

7. Collaboration & Assets

First of all, I am a really perfectionist person. This is mainly a weakness, but it is also a strength sometimes. I often spend more time than I should planning, overthinking, and checking again and again if I did something right, but it also means that I am less likely to make errors because I always reread and double-check.
I also tend to overwork myself. I find it hard to say no when someone needs me. I try my best not to disappoint people, but my time isn't infinite. However, I'm working on improving this, making sure I have enough time before saying yes to a task, and stop stressing so much about other people's problems.

One of my strengths in collaborating is my flexibility and ability to adapt. I check in really often, and if something unexpected happens, I am able to modify my shedules and help others when they aren't able to complete a task. I don't use rigid timetables, so I am always up to make changes. I've noticed that this is really important when collaborating online, because leaders can't be online 24/7, and sometimes, there's inactivity and unforseen problems.

I can bring many assets to my leader team. I can draw vector art, profile pictures, I have access to Canva Pro (but it's on my school account so I can't share </3) and I can graphic design. I also live in the CET timezone (UTC+1) which means that I am awake when American SWCers are asleep, which means that, if the rest of the leader team lives in America, I will be able to help when they are asleep (even though timezones may be a bit annoying sometimes)

──── ‹ ⛰︎ ‧₊ ⛏︎˚ › ────

8. One Quality

One quality I value in a leader is reliability! I think that all leaders should be honest, trustworthy, and do what they promise. I’ve collaborated with inactive people, people who are really busy, and people who often forget about tasks, and it just delays and makes everything harder. However, I understand that unexpected things may happen, and that everyone makes errors and forgets things.
If I get accepted, I will try my best to do what I promise, and will keep plans and promises realistic. I will be honest about the time I have to help, and will make sure to notify my fellow leaders as soon as possible if something unexpected comes up, as soon as possible.
AAnother thing I think is really important is to make sure that campers can rely on leaders. This is why, if a camper asks a question, I will double-check and make sure that my answer is accurate.

──── ‹ ⛰︎ ‧₊ ⛏︎˚ › ────

9. Cabin Atmosphere

A relaxed cabin with a fun and engaging storyline, a focus on improving, making friends and helping others improve, and a little bit of competition against other cabins. (170 characters)

──── ‹ ⛰︎ ‧₊ ⛏︎˚ › ────

10. Checkboxes

A. Check all that apply:
✔ - I will be available to help add points in the main cabin consistently throughout camp.
✔ - I'm willing to share a promotional project for SWC.

B. Are there any leadership responsibilities listed in the FAQ you cannot complete? If any, please elaborate.
I can complete all the leadership responsibilities listed in the FAQ.

C. In the case of inactive leadership (either by yourself, or by a fellow leader), what steps will you take to ensure that the cabin can still move smoothly?
If something unexpected happens and I am not able to check in for 4 days or more, I will notify my fellow (co-)leaders as soon as possible and list all the tasks I will not be able to complete so another leader can do them.
If a fellow (co-)leader is inactive for 3 days or more without notifying anyone, I will try to message them on their profile, and if they don’t reply, I will discuss with the other (co-)leaders and try to reassign and complete any tasks the inactive leader hasn’t been able to complete.

Themed Question -

Ooooooooooooooooh this is a good question and I would like to say that I would be a whale shark because I love whale sharks an unhealthy amount and they’re so cute and spotty and innocent. But a whale shark represents me because we’re both covered in spots, have a funny smile, and are both generally solitary creatures ;D
I would say we’re both very calm, but I don’t think that's quite true on my end haha.

About Me -

Hi there! I’m Liv, a chaotic teen with an unhealthy reliance on coffee and literature. I live in the wonderful timezone of NZST (and consequently the even more wonderful country of New Zealand) and use she/her pronouns, although feel free to address me as however makes you comfortable!

I love sheep, hiking, camping, reading, sheep, writing, D&D, music, history, sheep, politics, sewing and, to no one's surprise, sheep!

Some of those have been a part of my life for a very long time, but reading has probably been there the longest. I can’t remember a time before I was reading books, and it's become such a huge part of my life over the years. I love reading quite a variety of genres, including fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, poetry, thriller and manga, among others. I’m currently reading Lessons In Chemistry, and as I’ve found myself enjoying a lot of classics recently, Pride and Prejudice. Dostoevsky is also on my list, and I’m very excited to start on his pieces.

I also love Dungeons and Dragons! I run a campaign with my friends, and it's so much fun. For those of you who don’t know what D&D is, it's a fantasy roleplaying game where everyone pretends to be characters and goes on journeys and generally has great fun. It's brought me so much closer to my current friends, and I always look forward to our sessions.

Another thing I enjoy is hiking and camping! I’ve been doing both for about six years now, and do the majority of my camps through girl guides. I love being outdoors without too many expectations, and I love exploring and discovering my country in that way. It's a great way to get away from everything for a little while; get off screens, away from too many people, and just becoming a part of the outdoors.

The final thing I’ll mention is my love for sociology. Sociology is the study of human social behaviour and society as a whole. I love learning about current affairs and what's happening in the world, as well as how history affects us now. It's a topic of passion for me, and something I hope that I can further pursue in the coming years.
With my passion for sociology, it’s no wonder that I love to be social myself! I love to chat and get to know people, especially when we’re in the same community. So if you’re ever looking for someone to chat with, I’m always available <33

Experience -

This will be my eighth session of SWC!!

My past SWC experience -
July ‘23 | Hi-Fi | Camper
Nov ‘23 | Dystopian | Inactive camper
July ‘24 | Mystery | Camper
Nov ‘24 | Sci-Fi | Co-leader
March ‘25 | Thriller | Co-leader, Polar Bear Cub, Memory Book Committee
July ‘25 | Utopian | Leader, Polar Bear, Memory Book Committee
Nov ‘25 | Fantasy | Co-leader, Polar Bear Cub, Memory Book Committee

I’ve led a cabin once, and co-lead three times. I’ve also been a camper three times, which is always an amazing experience.
Every time I lead, I learn so much. From my first session of learning and understanding how SWC works in the background, to my most recent session of building complex tasks and challenges for the campers. Each one teaches me new skills and helps me develop my leadership style, and each one is just as fun as the last <3

Moving on from SWC and into real life, I have gained quite a bit of experience.
I’m a part of Rangers (girl guides) and have planned and run camps for a few nights at a time and organised 2-3 hour events for large groups of people. I’m actually organising another camp as we speak, set for the middle of May.
I have a decent amount of volunteering experience, which, depending on what I’m volunteering for, teaches me an array of collaboration and leading skills. It's also taught me a lot about positive morals and standing up for what's right. I still haven’t found a steady volunteering job, but I hope to be able to take up things like umpiring and refereeing sports in the coming year.
I’m the DM in my friend group's D&D campaign, which means that I essentially run the evenings we do. It’s the DM’s job to plan each encounter and session, and to make it enjoyable for the players. I have learnt a lot about organisation and improvising from our sessions, as well as ensuring that I’m having fun each night as well.
In school, I’ve been a part of a couple of clubs and councils where I’ve taken up leadership roles, and I’ve gone on school trips with leadership workshops and presentations. I’ve taken up leading roles in and outside of the classroom, and I am also part of a group who are attempting to start up our own council.

Writing wise, I definitely have less experience; I’ve entered a few writing competitions, both national and regional, and have been lucky enough to have my work published in a few places. I’ve also gone to a writers festival, which was such a cool experience, and am a part of my school's writing club.
Each of these experiences have improved my writing tenfold, and I am so grateful to have had so many opportunities to grow my writing. <3

Cabin Preferences -

I have a few ideas that I would love to bring to life this session ;D

I have two main ideas at the moment: The first is centered around the ocean, or more specifically, a divers’ exploration of the ocean. It would be loosely based around the game ‘Subnautica’ –sharing the ideas of sea creatures, ocean discovery and technology. However, rather than being completely focused on getting out of the ocean, it will be focused on the correspondence of a diver and an astronaut.
The campers will get to explore the ocean while discovering records and notes that the person before them left. Including logs, creature discoveries and notes. They will also find letters that were sent between the astronaut and diver, learning about their relationship and what really happened to each of them.
I have many more ideas that I’d love to discuss further with my Co’s, but that captures the general idea and vibes that I’m aiming for!
This cabin could fit the genres of Nautical-Fiction, Adventure or Tragedy.

The other idea I have at the moment is something centered around the board games Cluedo (Clue) and One Night Werewolf, where we would have a leader being the werewolf, and they would attack another leader every week/ten days until they are the only one standing. And it would be up to the campers to try to figure out who the werewolf is.
The campers will be villagers who are trying to figure out who killed Mr Black (likely a host, (g)host, or (co)leader that I can convince to act as a dead person). With each leader being a character from the Cluedo board, as well as having a One Night Werewolf role.
To make it more difficult, the campers would need to converse with volunteers who each have a One Night Werewolf role, and who have switched around or used their cards in different ways. The campers would also need to figure out what weapon the leader is using, and what cabin Mr Black was killed in.
It could fit the genre of Suspense, Paranormal or Mystery.
For this idea, I would take extra precautions to ensure that it remains appropriate for our younger Scratch audiences and follows the community guidelines.

A less refined idea I have is a cabin themed around the anime and manga Frieren. It would be similar in storyline to the ocean cabin, however camper interaction would be more in the style of DnD, and it would be more plot focused. —I would love to do Historical Fantasy for this cabin, or Folklore.

As for TCTWNW, I would consider it my first choice of cabin this session. I would absolutely love to lead a more laid back, community focused cabin, and I think that it would be really nice to spend some time focused more on writing than competition. <3

Time Dedication -

I should be able to dedicate at least 1-2 hours a day to SWC on weekdays, and likely a bit more on weekends.
There may be a few exceptions to this, including Tuesday evenings, when I have Rangers and my activity will be on and off. And also possibly a couple of days where my activity will also be on and off, such as Thursdays and Fridays, which my D&D and Taekwondo may take up time. This hasn’t been confirmed and I will let the appropriate people know if it does end up happening.
I will also be starting school on the 29th of January, which means I will be inactive from the hours of 8am or 10am - 3pm, depending on the day. I will still have plenty of time to be active before and after school though, and most of my weekends are free.
A final thing that will take up a lot of my time is my camps, which for personal reasons, I will not be on scratch at all for the duration of. The dates are included below.
23-26 January.
6-8 March.*
28-29 March.*
*Note that it is not confirmed that I am attending these camps, but it is very likely and I will say yes if given the opportunity.

If anything more comes up that I haven’t mentioned here, I will let whoever needs to know, know.
Despite all of this, I am confident that I will be able to manage my time on SWC well and ensure that I dedicate an appropriate amount of time each day. <3

Time Management -

My time management skills have improved so much since I first applied, and I know that they will continue to improve as I grow and learn. That being said, there will always be things that I will struggle with, and I can only work to overcome them.

Some things I struggle with -

Spontaneity -
A huge thing that I struggle with is spontaneous bursts of energy and motivation, rather than consistent and controlled dedication. I often have high and low periods where I do next to no work, and then get so much done I don’t have anything else to do, which leads back into a low period. This means that when there's work and I’m in a low period, I’ll put it off again and again till I have the energy to do it.
I do my best to overcome this by setting reminders or getting people to remind me, doing low effort tasks to build up to doing what I need to do, and creating to-do lists organised by effort rather than priority. These strategies help me get out of my slump as well as practise consistency in a way that doesn’t cause burnout.

Patience -
I also struggle with my patience. Although this has improved over the past few months, I do still need to remind myself that people have their own commitments and can’t be on all of the time. This leads to me checking my phone or laptop far too much, and affects my interactions as well as my sleep.
I work on this by locking down my devices or placing them out of sight and reach to allow me to fully focus on other tasks or people. I believe this particular trait is tied in with my anxiety, which I have many other methods to work through.

Skills in time management -

Dedication -
If I am anything, it is dedicated. Even if my consistency is a bit off, I am always dedicated to my work. And do everything I can to make sure that it is on time and to a high standard. I’m also dedicated to people, which feeds into my desire to include self-care in my SWC cabins and tasks. I don’t have a one track mind, and I always do my best to remain dedicated to everything I have taken up.
This trait shows a lot in my SWC leadership in many ways. Like I mentioned, I put a huge focus on self-care in my cabins, because I want to show that I’m not just dedicated to the work, as important as that is, but the people too.

Flexibility -
I am a very flexible person, and I think that it’s incredibly important to be able to overcome and adapt to any hurdles that have been thrown my way. I always have a backup plan ready, and strict deadlines designed to ensure that if anything comes up, my work won’t be affected or late.
My leadership reflects this through how I set up and organise my tasks and discussions, keeping on top of work while allowing for events and interruptions. This also means that by having precautions in place, no one feels too stressed or worried if anything does come up, and they know that it's okay if they need to step away, because everything will keep ticking along.

────────────────

Collaboration and Assets -

I love working with others, It's one of the reasons I always come back to leading each session. It's so fun, and I adore getting to know the community.

Weaknesses -

Anxiety -
I briefly mentioned this in time management, but my anxiety is a big thing that affects my ability to work with others. I’m constantly thinking over everything I say and worried about how it might come across to others, and I sometimes end up changing or deleting my message, or not giving all of my ideas or voicing my opinion properly. It also means that I stress quite a lot throughout the entire period of working together with people.
I do my best to combat this by letting the people I'm working with know about it early, and letting them know if it's a day where I need particular reassurance. I also take the time to write out my own worries, and talk to myself about why they’re not true. Journaling, counselling and baking are all other methods I use to take my mind off it, and I find that they all help a lot.

Bluntness -
If I’m tired, or stressed, or not paying attention, I can be very blunt. This isn’t necessarily a bad quality, but paired with my anxiety it can lead to me being quite stressed. It can also hurt other people's feelings. Which is a huge no in my books.
I do what I can to improve on this by thinking about what I want to say before I say it, and checking my message over to make sure that nothing could be taken the wrong way or is offensive. Due to these strategies, the trait rarely shows online, but on the occasion it does, I do my best to take the right measures to make sure everyone is okay.

Strengths -

Communication -
I am someone who is always doing their best to avoid miscommunication and misunderstandings, and so I always try to make everything very clear on my part. I also encourage people to ask questions about things they’re not sure of or need help with, because I’d rather they ask than be confused or overwhelmed. And more than that, communication is a great way to get to know who you’re working with, build relationships, and in general, have fun!

Authenticity -
I think that it is an incredibly important thing for someone to be authentic. And if I am anything, it is that. I don’t see any reason to change who I am or make myself less for other people, unless there is a very specific reason for it. I also do my best to encourage everyone around me to be themselves too, because I would like to know who they are, rather than who they think that I want to see. Being yourself is key to feeling comfortable in group settings.

Assets -
I can bring many things to a team, from graphic design and art, to less tangible things like enthusiasm, ambition and dedication. I may not be the most experienced, but I can promise to give everything a go, and give it my best when I do.

────────────────

One Quality -

One quality I think that I value a lot would be approachability. Being approachable and down to earth has always been my goal, hence why I consider it the most important quality for a leader to have. If you’re approachable, then you can develop an even stronger bond with the people around you, and have fun with them. I want people to feel comfortable coming up to me and striking up conversations, as well as asking for help when they need it.

I hope to apply this in SWC by communicating with my campers often and on a fun, less professional level. I will make an effort to be active in my cabin, and encourage them to get to know each other and have fun beyond just writing. I’ll send reminders about self-care and make an effort to talk to each of them. And I will partake in the silly times, rather than being a distant figure that they don’t know. I will be a real person, and I am going to ensure they know that. <3

I also hope to include this a lot in my relationship with my co-leaders. I want them to feel comfortable coming up and asking questions, or asking for help, as well as joking around and having a fun time. Your relationship with your team is everything when it comes to cabin atmospheres and vibes, and I want them to feel as though they can talk to me about anything, because they really can. I will be implementing this by encouraging communication beyond simply cabin planning, and attempting to get to know them on a personal level. I want to not be co-workers, but rather friends.

────────────────

Cabin Atmosphere -

TCTWNW -
A cabin built on a captivating but relaxed storyline, while remaining centred on creating strong relationships with writing and the community.
(142 characters)

Leaderboard Cabin -
A highly competitive cabin where each moment is full of storyline clues, friendship chaos and a goal to come out on top; while still holding self-care at its core.
(163 characters)

────────────────

Checkboxes -

A -
I will be available to help add points in the main cabin consistently throughout camp
I’m willing to share a promotional project for SWC

B -
There are none, I am able to complete them all <3

C -
In the case of inactivity by another member of my leading team, I would take one of two routes.
If I have been given prior warning by them, then I will take the time to discuss with my team what we think is the next best course of action, whether that be re-delegating the tasks or finding a replacement.
If they haven’t given prior warning, I would wait 72 hours and then reach out to them about it, as I know that real life can easily get in the way of SWC and is inherently more important. If they have not responded after 48 hours, I would take the next steps of contacting the hosts and discussing the next course of action with my team.

If I were to go inactive, I would let my team, the hosts and my campers know as soon as I could, and work with everyone to make sure they know what to do in my absence, as well as discussing the next course of action, whether that be managing themselves or sorting out someone else to take over. I’d also be sure to answer any questions and keep my campers in the loop, as it will affect them as well.

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

hey there!! im zy (he/him) an artist, writer, avid trampoline enthusiast, and member of the world's worst timezone (pst </3)!! im a dual enrollment student currently working through a few challenging but fun classes, on my way to graduating!

art | ive been doing digital art since i was ten years old, and ive only gotten more and more interested in it as ive grown older! being creative in multiple ways has hugely helped me express my life and inner world, something thats invaluable to me.

writing | i think this one might be a little obvious… well, anyway, i love writing and coming up with unique character and story concepts. right now, im working on a rough draft for my novel and hoping to finish it by the end of the year!!

trampoline | theres no trampoline emoji so you'll just have to imagine it ;D

in addition to my main hobbies, i also enjoy blahaj, playing video games, making videos, working out, and singing! i try to spend a good amount of time on my hobbies and interests, because it means a lot to me that im able to do them.

having a list of goals has helped me so much in previous sessions and in life in general! with that in mind, here are my march goals, irregardless of role.

- write 40k words!
this session i want to write 40k! between my novel and all my other projects, im feeling pretty confident about it

- write 30k in my novel
while its currently sitting at about 14k, i'm hoping to get it to 50/60k during march! i have a bit of trouble committing to my novels, but this is a story i really want to tell.

- do twenty dailies and all four weeklies!
the daily and weekly prompts are always so much fun to do, so this session i want to make an effort to do as many of them as i can. i think this number should be super reasonable, and i'm really excited to give this a go!

2
yes, i have! this will be my eighteenth session, and (fingers crossed) fifth session co/leading! you can find all my session experience here. my first time leading in march 2024 was a total blast and i got to learn what goes into being a good leader and team member, and when i led again in november of the same year, i got closer to my team and put more effort into a detailed storyline. in march of 2025, i gave my all into hitting my word goal and creating an experience that my campers and team would be sure to remember. finally, in july, i spent more time interacting with my cabinmates while working through all my personal projects!! if i get the chance to lead in this coming session, i want to make an effort to get to know as many people as possible and try something i haven't done before.

most of my leading experience is online, but outside of swc, ive volunteered, working for my family's business, and led projects at school! this year, i want to expand on that even more by taking on new leadership roles where i can learn what goes into teamwork and communication. as far as writing goes, since i've been doing for so long, i've taken a whole host of classes and courses on everything from setting to dialogue. ive learned a ton from all of these, but recently, my focus has been on growing my consistency as a writer so i can finally tell the stories ive been dreaming up.

3
when it comes to cabins, im not picky! non-fi and romance are the only two i likely wouldn't accept a role in–while i would be absolutely honored to be considered, i dont think i would be best suited to lead either of these cabins due to my lack of favorability towards them. as for tctwnw, i would not be interested in leading it this session; though, depending primarily on the plans for the cabin, i could be interested in co-leading it!

i would love to lead any cabin with an original storyline, and i'd be more than happy to contribute to an existing idea or come up with a new one! here are my cabin preferences:
*not ordered

love!!!
- dystopian
- thriller
- dark fantasy

- non-fi

- real-fi

now, its time for the ideas!!

5
i would reasonably expect to dedicate one and a half to two and a half hours to swc daily! my time online will be hindered in some parts of january and february, due to traveling, but it should be more than manageable and ill still be able to respond often! beyond that, my only commitments are school and potentially work. i consider myself to be very good at managing my time and ensuring everything is completed and done on schedule, so i dont have any concerns about my responsibilities as a co/leader!

6
skills:
- organized
i consider myself to be a very organized person, from my bathroom drawers to my entire life! i really enjoy making to-do lists, planning, and thinking ahead. utilizing this has allowed me to get things done ahead of time, maintaining efficiency in such a way that everyone can still contribute, so we have time left to add meaningful additions!

- adaptability
i can quickly and easily adapt to new situations within a role. in swc, this mostly applies to inactivity or unexpected developments, all of which i am completely prepared to handle!

shortcomings:
- easily distracted
my lack of procrastination is made up for by being extremely easily distracted. if i have a new idea, its more than likely ill immediately drop what im doing to start project 5483 of the day, abandoning my responsibilities in the process. to account for this, recently, ive been writing down my ideas as soon as a get them, but not working on them until i've thought it through for a little while (at least a full day). this gives me time to finish what i'm already working on, ensures i still get to keep the idea somewhere close by, and let my mind think of ways to expand on it, so i can stay on track while still expressing that creative urge!!

7
strengths:
- open minded
- communication

weaknesses:
- overconfidence
unfortunately, i tend to be a bit of an over-optimist with an overconfidence that everything will work itself out without my intervention.

in addition to my strengths, i have a lot of experience in art, graphic design, coding, and overall organization–these are the assets i bring to a leadership team!

8
there are truly so many important qualities that an amazing leader possesses, but this time around i'm choosing passion! being passionate about something changes how you view every component of it, and utilizing that within a leadership role expands on the experience for everyone. within swc specifically, i would plan to employ my passion for writing, building relationships, teamwork and creativity to create a unique and interactive storyline, get to know as many people as possible, work closely with my teammates and fellow co/leaders, and exert effort to succeed in both personal and collaborative projects!

10
10b: i am confident to complete all responsibilities as listed!
10c: inactivity is a hard thing to get around, but one strategy ive found that works (after confirming the inactivity) is making it part of the plan! there's a balance between doing everything yourself out of fear someone will stop being available, and relying on people who cant fit everyone's responsibility into their schedule. once someone has become inactive, whether its me or someone else, its imperative that their responsibilities are managed onto the rest of the team, so that everything can continue running as smoothly as possible.

note: i really wanted to stay true to the word cap with this application so i can practice explaining things without dragging on and on <3 i want my answers to be concise while still getting what i want to say across, so i hope i accomplished that!

note for critiques!! i didnt include answers 4 and 9 as i deem them the least important during the rough draft phase!! please ignore any and all grammatical issues since i fix those in the final draft <3 thank youuuuu

the art section is reading as a bit clunky to me for some reason – i think the repetition of “more” and something about the phrasing of “has hugely helped” is also throwing me off.

“irregardless” is technically a double negative! just wanted to point that out lol

i'd recommend breaking the above sentence up somehow! as it is it's a bit hard to follow through all the commas

ok it is entirely possible that my brain is just fried rn but for some reason the inactivity section isn't clicking? adding some more detail about how exactly you make it part of the plan might help clear that up a bit

phases of me ⏾ kat's (co)leader app! <3
About Me
Greetings, humans (along with geese, sharks, foxes, and bears, etc)!! I'm Kat (she/her), your slightly-more-chaotic-than-average middleschooler and nerd extraordinaire, found in the incredible artISTic timezone (Indian Standard Time :sparkles: )! I'm an avid theater kid through and through, and an aspiring zoologist with a lot of hobbies– among them are reading, writing (I know, unexpected :00 ), chess and STEM!

Starting with one of the most essential things about me, reading! I was introduced to books at a young age, and have been in love ever since. My first novel was maybe 150 pages long, but it seemed like I was climbing Mount Everest– I've come a long way since then, with a number of books I'm proud of on my list. I like most books, but I do have my favorites! My favorite series is the Wings of Fire series by Tui. T Sutherland (dragons, magic, prophecies– what more could you want?) and if I had to choose a standalone, it would be The Girl Who Drank the Moon (the coziest book you will ever find in this universe!).

After I started reading, I made it a dream to write. The element this intro wouldn’t be complete without.. I'm pretty sure I've had ideas swirling around in my head since birth, and the ability to put those down on paper is magic! I'm one of those quiet kids– I have to strain my voice to be heard. But with my writing, I can speak out, make an impact, all with my silent words. I love weaving tales, making worlds, and uncovering dastardly plots. Writing is something I want to pursue, and I hope I fulfill my dreams of being a published author– changing minds, like books changed mine. SWC has helped me so much on this journey, and not only with all the hugely helpful writing advice– also the motivation and support the community always gives.

And oh, STEM! Science, technology, engineering, mathematics– the secret to life, creating the world as we know it. I'd have to say that the bit I'm most fascinated with is science– as I've said before, I'm hoping to go into zoology, or the study of the animals we need to learn to live alongside. Science goes far beyond the earth, and I just end up with my mind blown whenever I try to think about the extent of awesomeness that it is!!

It seems we’ve finally gotten to it (drumroll please), theatre!! This year, I've found a love of the performing arts! We had our annual school program in November, and the end result was spectacular!! I wasn’t expecting it to turn out so amazing, but I loved performing. I've always loved the Marathi plays that my grandparents would take me to, but I've got a newfound appreciation for them now. Whether I'm a part of the audience or the cast, the experience is always eye-opening!

Right now, while writing this, I am vibing to Birds of a Feather by our icon Billie Eilish!! My music taste is constantly changing, and I’m always listening to new artists, but right now, my heart belongs to the songs of Billie Eilish (her songs are so peak what), Taylor Swift (I could never grow out of her songs!!), and the newest addition: One Direction (even when the night… CHANGES)!

I might not be the most extroverted person you’ll ever meet, but I've come so far from the shy little girl in the corner– I'm bolder and braver, and a lot more social! Slowly, I’m learning the way of the conversation (dun dun DUN :jazz-hands: ), and even though I haven’t mastered it, I’d love to chat sometime– I’m always open to new friends <3

Experience
The upcoming session is going to be my eighth session!! More than three years of SWC :awe: Each session has taught me so much, and I'm glad that I got the chance to have SWC in my life– it’s been a wild ride, and I've had so, so, so much fun along the way! Here’s an overview of all my SWC sessions, along with my roles in them:

November ‘23 – adventure – camper
March ‘24 – fairy tales – camper
July ‘24 – fantasy – camper
November ‘24 – dystopian – camper
March ‘25 – mythology – co-leader
July ‘25 – horror – co-leader
November ‘25 – fantasy – camper
(In the sessions that I was a co-leader, I was also a polar bear cub and a point adder!)

I stumbled upon SWC quite by accident one day, decided to sign up, and realized what an incredible community I had found. I've grown so much as a person since then, and a lot of that is thanks to SWC… my writing prowess, my leadership skills, and that’s only to list a few! <3

For my leadership experience in online writing camps, I've co-led twice (both times in SWC!) and am currently leading the Bizarro-Fi Funhouse in JWC! Each session co-leading SWC was a huge experience for me– mythology, my first time in a leadership position in SWC, taught me the basics, from showing me what being on the leadership team was really like to teaching me how to adapt to the responsibility; horror let me really get into cabin creation, and have fun along the way! Outside of camps, I've been an admin for a roleplay or two, from which I learnt how to enforce rules– being gentle, while also firmly establishing boundaries.

In real life, I don't have any major experience, but I have handled several group projects for school– nothing big, but it built my understanding of coordination and teamwork! Also, I have taken the unofficial responsibility of handling the household and my brother while my parents are away at work everyday!

Moving onto writing experience!! I've been writing for a long time– from writing short stories at five (the legendary time when full stops were currently on a trip to Mars) to joining writing workshops and trying to write novels! For me, writing is an ever-evolving journey, and I'm growing everyday. It's one of my passions, and a big part of my life <3 While I don’t have any official achievements to flaunt, I do have my companions Time and Passion to back me up– I have a lot to learn, but I'm proud of where I've come with writing!

Preferences
This session, I've got a few ideas I'm quite excited about, but my top preference is definitely Furry Sleuth. I love animals to the end of the Earth and Furry Sleuth gives them a chance in the spotlight! It's a really cool genre, consisting of a mystery with animal detectives, and I'd love to see it introduced to SWC!! This cabin would be based on the movie Zootopia, in a world where animals are civilized and intelligent species! The police force is calling for all hands on deck– a file containing confidential information about a valuable artifact has been stolen! Campers would make their animal character, and overcome challenges to crack the case! There's no need to have watched the movie prior, as this cabin is inclusive to everyone! I've turned this idea around in my head a lot, and I think it would make for a great time! I don’t have all the points planned, as I’m hoping to improve this with my potential co-leaders. Other genres that could adapt to this idea are mystery, crime-fi, action, or thriller!

Other cabins I'm interested in leading include adventure, spy-fi, fantasy, or dystopian– basically, genres with high stakes and space for exciting storylines! I'd prefer not to lead cabins such as non-fi or real-fi or romance, because while I do like the concepts, I'm rather inexperienced in these genres, and wouldn’t be able to lead to the best of my abilities.

If I were chosen as a co-leader, I'd be honored to get offered to any cabin!! I love building onto ideas just as much as I love creating them– I can adapt to an idea and sprinkle a little of my own flair onto it!

As I thrive mainly on the motivation the leaderboard provides, I'd prefer not to (co)lead TCTWNW this session <3 March is going to be quite active for me, so I’m hoping to spend that time with a bit of competition!

Time Dedication
Here’s a breakdown of my expected activity levels during all the months of SWC activity!

February: For the planning month, I’d be able to spend at least half an hour a day under normal circumstances. In this time, I’m confident I’d be able to complete all the necessary cabin set-up, and additional storyline creation. However, I do have major commitments during this month– my end-of-year exams, for which I am DEFINITELY not terrified for. My activity will be reduced starting from February 15th, as my main focus will be on studying. Additionally, I will have regular school and homework. This will be a busy time for me, but I should have time to abide by my responsibilities!

March: Session time!!! For half of the month, I’ll have holidays, so I will be as free as a bird! My family is planning to head to my grandparents’, but there’s nothing huge other than a wedding, so it won’t take up much of my time. I will be able to dedicate an hour a day on a minimum basis to SWC. After my holidays, though, my activity might slightly reduce because I’ll be starting seventh grade *pales in face of new academic year* but as this is the beginning of the term, I’ll have very little work.

This is based on my expected activity rate during the months, but in the case that something comes up, I’ll do my best to notify the hosts and leadership team if I am chosen! <3

Time Management
I have argued with time management since forever, and slowly, I am coming to an agreement (“So… can I complete my homework and sleep? No? Alright, alright! Can I not only remember that school exists at night? No? You’re joking!). I have my own set of skills and shortcomings in the field– here’s an overview of them.

One of my strengths is my ability to meet deadlines. I might do it last minute, or space it out evenly, but whatever happens, I’ll always strive to get it done in time. I can prioritise my tasks based on time limits and importance, and this helps me always finish by the deadline. Through rain or shine, through thick or thin– I take my responsibilities very seriously, and there is rarely a time where I don’t manage to hit a deadline.

Another skill of mine is my organization. Making things presentable (apart from my hair, of course) is a high priority. It changes my mindset, and makes things go from dull to doable. I also make to-do lists that keep my brain in check and set forward expectations of the day. I can always organize something, and put it into structures that divide huge tasks into steps.

On the other hand, I have a memory that loves to fly around. I can think that I’ve engraved something into my mind for years to come, and then a day later I gape into the mirror and groan in frustration. I’m a forgetful person, and that can sometimes put back my tasks– not because I don’t want to do them, but because I just forgot to. To combat this, I’m trying to set reminders around, like putting objects I need to work on in plain sight. These small things can be something to lean on, and are slowly helping me fight my forgetfulness! <3

Another shortcoming is my procrastination!! Like, I should really write this answer now… but I don’t want to :sobs: It’s a dilemma… but willpower comes to the rescue! I can remember about a hundred times that I’ve pushed things back to the very last minute, then ruffled my feathers getting it all done. It can make a mountain of work out of a mole hill, but I’ve improved a lot. I’m trying to cut down on this by… you guessed it, willpower! This is more of a mental thing, but it works wonders. If I don’t want to do something, but I really should? I tell myself to do it, and that push gives me the motivation!

Time management as a whole is something I’m constantly learning new things about. I have weaknesses, like the average human being, but I’m consciously working on them, but I’m proud to say I’m a much better person in spending my precious twenty-four hours productively than I was a few months ago! <3

Collaboration
Collaboration is something really amazing– how multiple people can put together inspiration, with every person having a different mindset and personality, and come up with a result that drops jaws. I have my own ways I interact with people, and here are the ups and downs of them!

My biggest strength in collaboration is my active listening, or my open-mindedness. I always make sure to give equal attention to every idea– whether it’s one of my own or my team’s. I think all suggestions are worth considering, no matter how ‘ridiculous’ they seem. It’s often the craziest of ideas that spark into the most beautiful results! Perspectives are different for everyone, and finding a balance between all kinds of ideas is essential for a healthy team.

I also strive to be reliable– being dependable is a huge thing for me. If I have people counting on me, that usually ups my will tenfold. My highest priority in a task will be if it will affect other people. When I make a promise, or assign myself a task for others, I strive to complete it– I hate to disappoint anyone. If I take responsibility, be assured that I will do my best to follow it!

However, I can be a big overthinker. If you took a look inside my mind, it would probably be a thousand meowing trains of thought– most of which started from What-If station, the famous station known for worrying extremely about small things. “Does it seem careless, dismissive, or– oh no, passive aggressive?” How others perceive me is important to me– but it does make me extremely anxious sometimes. To stop my brain from spiralling into chaos, I try to use communication. Steadying an understanding can erase a lot of unnecessary tension for me, and being straightforward instead of privately worrying. I can use this by asking how my team feels, and what they actually think!

Another weakness I’ve spotted in my teamwork is, unfortunately, indecision. Linking with my overthinking, I don’t want to make a decision that would negatively affect others, even if the choice was given to me. I have a habit of not making many active decisions, and that can slow down work sometimes. I’m working on this by choosing more resolutely– but still continuing to be considerate in my choices by asking if this was alright, and directing it to a solution convenient for everyone!

As for my assets, I can do basic art and design, and I have access to Canva– I can also contribute with my creativity and brainstorming powers! On a more mental side, I bring a positive atmosphere with me everywhere I go, and am a steady source of motivation and support– I can keep the mood and team spirits high!!

One Quality
I’ve used this ‘one quality’ for most of my apps, because I’ve still held my view– all those months, and I still believe integrity is prime. Integrity, to put it simply, is honesty and a strong moral sense. I’ve always thought of integrity as a guiding compass, leading me to good choices. I’ve always stood by these choices, and I think integrity is extremely important in a leader, especially in a camp like SWC– it runs on an honor system, where everything is built on trust. Honesty is key to a fair and enjoyable session, and before a leader can encourage campers to follow this system, they must master it themselves!

I will strive to embody this, by being honest and open in all parts of SWC, while maintaining online safety. This includes adding words, points, and activities fairly and acting without bias in any disagreements, but that’s not all. In all my interactions, I’ll be truthful with my leadership team and campers. In everything I do, I’ll try to maintain a positive atmosphere– because the one of the things I love most about SWC is how sincere it is. I will try to contribute to a space where everyone feels equal and heard, by being true and genuine in everything I say or do!

Atmosphere
“A welcoming cabin focused on having a good time and progressing with writing goals, with a steady competitive aspect and an engaging, camper-driven storyline– while making friendships built to last!”
-198 characters

This is my vision of an ideal cabin, and while I do understand that things hardly ever go exactly to plan, I’ll strive to make it the best experience I can!

Checkboxes
a.
☑️I am available to help add points in the main cabin consistently throughout camp
☑️I am willing to share a promotional project for SWC

b.
Yes, I will be able to complete all the leadership responsibilities listed! <3

c.
If my fellow leader was inactive, I would take the following measures to ensure my cabin would continue to function normally for the campers:
The universe is quite prone to unexpected situations, so not popping on for four days or so is normal. Beyond that, I would first send a gentle ping to the leader, and if there was no reply within another three days, I would contact my team and the hosts. I would do my best to make up for the inactivity, like creating studios where required, and shifting responsibilities.

If I was inactive, I would do my best to let my fellow (co)leaders, the hosts, and my campers know. I would take all the necessary measures, depending on how long I estimate I’ll be gone, and set up a plan with my team. In extreme situations, I will follow the Life > SWC rule– but in most scenarios I would be able to notify everyone required, as it takes only a minute to check in and type out a quick message!

Bonus
I find marine animals incredibly amazing– and the one I think I’m most like would be a dolphin!! These lovely sea creatures are curious and intelligent, which is why I think they’re the undersea mammal for me! They might also be my favorite for this reason! They display feats of problem-solving, and are playful with their fellow dolphins, and are honestly really loveable <3

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

1

Hey there! I'm Zy (he/him), an artist, writer, trampoline enthusiast, and member of the world's worst timezone–PST.

Art - I've been doing digital art for over six years now, and it's one of my biggest passions! I love the huge art community in SWC, and I've really enjoyed doing the art for cabins in the past!
Writing - Hmmm…. I think this one might be a little obvious… but anyway, one of my absolute favorite things to do is come up with stories, and SWC specifically has opened so many doors for me in terms of writing.
Trampoline - There's no trampoline emoji so I guess you'll just have to imagine it ;D

In addition to these, I also really enjoy making jewelry, spending time with my blahaj, playing video games, and working out! I'm currently trying running.

Having a list of goals has helped me accomplish so much in the past few sessions, so here are my goals for March ‘26 regardless of role!

- Write 40k words
Between my novel, schoolwork, and SWC challenges, I hope to hit 40k in the month of March!

- Write 30k in my novel
My novel is a huge undertaking, and it means a ton to me–I want to work on it until it’s finished, instead of leaving it in a pile of half-blank documents with the rest of my stories.

- Do all 4 weeklies and 20 dailies
The daily and weekly prompts are always so much fun to do, and I really grew my writing skills with them! This session, I want to do as many of them as I can, and I think this should be super reasonable for me!

2

Yes, I have! This will be my 18th session, and (fingers crossed!) fifth session co/leading! You can find all my session experience here. If I get the chance to lead again in this coming session, my goals will be centered around getting to know more people and trying something new!

Most of my leading experience is online, but outside of SWC, I've volunteered, spent time working for my family's business, and led school projects! This year, I want to expand on that even more by taking on new leadership roles where I can learn what goes into effective teamwork and communication. As far as writing goes, I've been obsessed with writing and telling stories since I was a kid–and since then, I've taken every class I can find on it. I've learned so much from all of them, but recently, my focus has been on growing consistency instead of knowledge!

March ‘24
This was my first session leading, and I got learn what goes into being a good leader and team member

November ’24
This was my second session leading, and this session I wanted to create a super detailed storyline!

March ‘25
This was my third session leading, and I gave everything I had to hitting my word goal and creating an unforgettable storyline.

July 25
This was my most recent session leading, and focused on interacting with my cabin and completing personal projects!

3

when it comes to cabins, im not picky! non-fi and romance are the only two i likely wouldn’t accept a role in–while i would be absolutely honored to be considered, i dont think i would be best suited to lead either of these cabins due to my lack of favorability towards them. as for tctwnw, i would not be interested in co/leading it this session due to march being my most active and most competition-geared part of the year. i really value tctwnw, and i hope to participate in it either this july or this november!

i would love to lead any cabin with an original storyline, and i'd be more than happy to contribute to an existing idea or come up with a new one! here are my cabin preferences:
*not ordered

love!!!
- dystopian
- thriller
- dark fantasy
- horror
- any _punk cabin (cyberpunk march 26?? :eyes
- apocalyptic
- sci-fi
- mystery

yes!
- action
- fantasy
- adventure
- myth
- poem/poetry
- folklore
- tragedy

not a big fan
- non-fi
- romance
- hi-fi
- real-fi

now, its time for the ideas!!
starting off with the big one, cyberpunk!!

5

I would reasonably expect to dedicate one to two hours a day to SWC daily! My time online will be hindered in some parts of January and February, due to traveling, but it should be completely manageable. Beyond that, my commitments are schoolwork and my hobbies, which take between one and three hours every day. Neither of these are time-specific, so the hours I choose to do them are up to me! I consider myself to be very good at managing my time to ensure everything is completed on time, so I have no concerns about my responsibilities as a co/leader.

6

Skills:
- Organized
I consider myself to be a very organized person in every aspect of my life! I really enjoy making to-do lists, planning, and think ahead. Utilizing this has allowed me to

- Adaptable and Flexible
I am very quick to adapt to new situations, and I'm extremely flexible when it comes to adding or removing

- Consistency

Shortcomings:
- Easily Distracted
My lack of procrastination is made up for by being extremely easily distracted. If I have a new idea, it's more like than likely I'll immediately drop what I'm going to start project one million of the day, forgetting my responsibilities in the process. To account for this, I've been writing down my ideas as soon as I get them–but not working on them until I've finished what I'm already doing. This actually lets my mind think of ways to expand on those ideas while I work on other things, which ends up being more productive overall!

7

Strengths:
- Open Minded
I'm a very open-minded person, and I'm always willing to consider other people's ideas and experiences when making decisions.

- Communicative
Luckily, communication is something that comes super easily to me. I love yapping talking to people about all sorts of topics and getting to know everyone!

- Optimistic

weaknesses:
- Overconfidence
Due mostly to my optimism, I tend to be overconfident that things will always work out whether or not I intervene in them. I live by the quote “It'll work out in the end–and if it's not working out, it's not the end.” This has led me to work less on a project than I should, which unfairly balances responsibilities onto my teammates.

- Strongly Opinionated
I'm a very opinionated person–and while those opinions never negatively influence my perception of other people, due to my open-mindedness, I tend to be quick to arrive at the conclusion that someone dislikes me.

In addition to my strengths, I have a lot of experience in digital art, graphic design, coding, and organization–these are the assets I bring to a leadership team!

8

there are truly so many important qualities that an amazing leader possesses, but this time around i'm choosing passion! being passionate about something changes how you view every component of it, and utilizing that within a leadership role expands on the experience for everyone. within swc specifically, i would plan to employ my passion for writing, building relationships, teamwork and creativity to create a unique and interactive storyline, get to know as many people as possible, work closely with my teammates and fellow co/leaders, and exert effort to succeed in both personal and collaborative projects!

9

Competitive, engaging, and fun–get to know everyone through activities and bonding while we work together to take on unique challenges in our storyline!

Friendly competition, engaging storyline, and plenty of fun–join us and get to know everyone through activities while we work together to take on unique challenges

153 characters, based generally on the idea for a more story-heavy cabin!

10

( √ ) I will be available to add points consistently throughout the session.
( ☓ ) I will share a promotional project.

10b: Nope, I am confident in my abilities to complete all co/leader responsibilities as listed!

10c: If the inactivity was my own, my first step would be notifying the hosts and my team as soon as possible. After that, my goal would be to eliminate outstanding work and complete it as quickly as possible (while maintaining its quality), as to not burden my team or cabin with a lack of preparedness. If the inactivity were someone else's, the first steps are roughly the same–inform the hosts and other members of the team.

After this, it becomes the responsibility of the rest of the team to support the absence; so, the most feasible solution to both of these situations is to get things done before they're needed. This is where my organizational abilities come in super handy!

Critique <33

Hey! I’m so so sorry I forgot about this oopsies! Also due to being a little busy, I’m going to try and be concise with this critique - this may mean that I don’t compliment everything that very much deserves complimenting. On a scan, these answers look amazing and I might not have too much to critique!!

In your experience section, there’s a few times where I would change the wording to be slightly more positive. For example when you say ‘was it a great cabin? No.’ I would change it to be a little bit more ‘looking back, honestly it had flaws’ because whilst it’s very mature and reflective, it is pretty negative. The other thing is in the writing section, have more confidence in yourself! You don’t ’lack in this department’. You could spin this into something like ‘I understand the struggles of writing and want to improve alongside my campers as a relatable leader’ if you want to, but honestly, an honourable mention is something to be massively proud of and your writing is great.

I would just switch your cabin ideas around in the cabin prefs answer, because I find that people pay more attention to the first idea. It makes more sense logically to do it that way I think.

Right this might sound a bit harsh, but for time management I’d maybe want to see a more… unique?… quality? Like yes these may be true and lots of people struggle with them but I think half of the people applying will have the same strengths and especially weaknesses listed as you. And this isn’t a problem, you’ve talked about and evaluated them perfectly, but I just feel like when I see procrastination and perfectionism as another person’s sole weaknesses, I kind of zone out. Might just be me being annoying but it might be worth if you have anything else to say that perhaps feels a bit more personal. Let me know if I’m not making sense. Honestly I think this is a personal thing of mine that nobody else will have a problem with lol

For one quality, maybe add one quick sentence about wanting to pass on your passion to other people? But this is great!!

Everything looks amazing, good luck and I can’t wait to see your app

swc leader app march '26

about me

Hello! I’m Ivory, although I plan to change that name soon. I use they/she pronouns. I am in the EST timezone. I’m a high school senior, soon to be a college freshman (which is both terrifying and exciting)! In an ideal world, I’d major in English (specifically literature and creative writing), but there aren’t many job prospects in that field. I’ll probably be a psychology major, with a minor in English or physics or both. I love sleep psychology, creative writing, and astrophysics (specifically black holes and spacetime). I’m also a dancer! I’ve been in hiphop for around five years, and I recently began to look into contemporary and jazz as well.

In my spare time, I’m usually listening to hyperpop/EDM music, choreographing various new dance routines, or writing! I’m the type of person to pursue an infinite amount of passion projects (although I’m not the first to admit that I don’t always finish them).

I’ve always loved writing, but I never truly pursued it because several people in my life discouraged me from doing so. Ever since I permanently quit STEM this summer, I’ve been a lot happier, and now you cannot pull me away from any story I’m working on!

There’s probably more that I could say about myself, but I usually find that my mind tends to go blank on introductions unless I’m unprovoked (and yes, I’m aware of the irony there) - you’ll probably catch me spontaneously responding to comments in various different studios, because I always jump at the chance to talk about my shared interests with other people.

past experience

This will be my sixth session of SWC, which is honestly crazy. As far as SWC experience goes, I’ve co-led for three out of my past five sessions (Apocalyptic November ’24, Thriller July ’25, Sci-Fi November ’25), and I’ve been a camper in the rest of them (Dystopian July ’24, Adventure March ’25). As a co-leader, I learned the importance of time management and getting to know my fellow campers. I also realized that I needed to become more organized in both my online and offline lives, which led me to take a much-needed break in December.

Most of my leadership experience was mentioned in my college applications, so I’ll repeat those things here: I’ve been leading a coding club for over two years, and I co-founded my school’s neurodivergence club. I recently took over the club after the original president dropped out. On top of those, I have been on the leadership boards for my school’s GSA and creative writing magazine, respectively. I didn’t make it onto student council this year, but I’m on the leadership committee for my school’s senior musical (which means I know what the musical is, even though we haven’t announced it yet!) and I’m on tech crew for the school-wide musical. I also led Sci-Fi cabin in WUC Oct ’25.

As far as writing experience goes, my personal statement did get me into college, and I’m extremely proud of it (it was my fifty-third draft!) in addition to the other things I’ve written. In my spare time, I’m currently working on a thesis paper about mental spacetime, combining my interests in psychology and astrophysics. I’m also planning to start yet another thesis paper (because I love passion projects) that will be about the effects of mood and tone in writing, which will be a combination of English and psychology. I also have an abstract-fiction novel in progress that I started for NaNoWriMo and never finished.

cabin preferences

I would like to preface this by saying that I quite enjoyed co-leading TCTWNW last session and would love to lead it again! The lack of competitive pressure was nice. Any of the below genres could work for TCTWNW. However, if necessary, I can lead a competitive cabin. The following cabins are listed from first to third in order of my personal preferences.

If you know me, you know that I will forever be advocating for an Abstract cabin. I’d like to take this theme literally, and work with an abstract art concept in which the campers paint their own surroundings, creating the world of our cabin as the session goes on. I would work with my co-leaders to come up with various different writing challenges for their worlds, such as setting, time period, and the organization of the world’s society. We would be worldbuilding in real time, and by the end of the session, we could have a fully formed map of our cabin! This concept could also work for Surrealism, but as always, I’d primarily love to make it work for Abstract.

Another idea that I’ve had for quite a while is a talent show for Script cabin! All of the campers would have the opportunity to participate (or if they’d rather not perform but still want to be involved, they could also act as the “crew” for the show), and at the end of the session, we’d put on the actual show! I originally planned to theme this after Taylor Swift’s “The Life Of A Showgirl” album, however I do recognize that not everyone in SWC is a Swiftie, so I don’t mind making it more general if necessary. I could also make this idea work for Realistic Fiction or perhaps Fanfiction, but I’d primarily like to use it for Script.

My last idea is for Mystery cabin, and it’s fairly similar to my app theme. This one is a little more vague than the first two, but I’d love to do an escape room cabin! Campers would be given puzzles throughout the session that they’d have to solve in order to escape. This could potentially work for Gothic or Bizarro Fiction as well.

There are a few cabins I’d rather not lead - not because I don’t like them, simply because I don’t have any ideas for their storylines. those genres are Fantasy, Poetry, and Dystopian. They are all genres that I’ve been working on writing in the past few months, but I don’t quite have storyline ideas for them yet.

writing excerpt

“how to like a boy” - link in the description!

time dedication

Now that I’ve gotten into college, I don’t have to worry about keeping up with frivolous tasks - I just have to continue to meet my standard in regards to schoolwork. I’m also applying for merit scholarships to earn assistance for college, but as of right now, that isn’t taking up too much of my time. Therefore, I should have more free time in general. However, the next few months will be quite busy. As I’ve mentioned before, I am in two school musicals. One is in February, the other is in March. I’ll definitely have February break to catch up on SWC-related things, and I’ll also have weekends.

I’ve looked at my calendar and I can realistically estimate spending one to three hours per day on SWC, maybe less during dress rehearsal weeks. This should still be enough time for me to give tasks to my co-leaders and follow through on whatever I’ve assigned for myself, while still having time to hang out with my friends and perform in two shows.

time management

As I’ve mentioned before, being a co-leader has really given me a true sense of time management. I’ve spent the past four years learning to manage my ADHD, which has been going extremely well! Of course, there are some things that I still need to work on, so I’ll start with those. My main weakness is probably my forgetfulness. I’ve been procrastinating a lot less recently, but if I happen to forget about a task, it never gets done. The main way I try to combat this is by setting a reminder at the exact moment when the task is first assigned to me. As a leader, I would likely be the one assigning most of the tasks, so I would be setting two types of reminders: what I have to do, and what my co-leaders have to do. I also plan to set aside some time each day to catch up on anything I’ve forgotten about.

My main strength in regards to time management would probably be my persistence. I know how to force myself to focus on a task (or “lock in,” as I usually say) and once I start, I can’t be stopped. I have the ability to tone out the rest of the world when I need to get something done. I’ve been doing that while writing and coding this app! If I am unable to focus, my persistence and determination will motivate me to eventually get things done.

collaboration & assets

Once again, I’ll start with my weaknesses. I have never enjoyed group work, and that attitude tends to show up whenever I’m working on something. I try to take charge and I often push other people to the side in an effort to make my voice heard. I’ve been working on this for a long time, and as a leader, I truly want to remedy this because I would love to hear what my co-leaders think! I recognize that it takes a lot of work to run a cabin, and I believe that I would benefit from the feedback of my peers.

In terms of strengths, I’ve been told that I’m an excellent listener. If I’m stuck on something, I know how to ask for help and listen to the advice I’m given. I also know how to accommodate to the ideas and perspectives of others. The community here is incredibly kind and I love the idea of balancing out my opinions with that of my co-leaders. There’s a thrill in collaborating on things that I’m passionate about, and I can guarantee that I will always bring something to the table.

I would say that my main asset is my creativity. I almost always have an idea hidden in the back of my mind, whether it’s for a new project or for continuing something I’ve already begun. As a leader, I would expand on pre-existing story ideas and make suggestions throughout the session on various different ways to keep campers engaged. I’m also quite organized when it comes to preparation (I love making graphic organizers!) and I’m a skilled multitasker, if that’s ever necessary.

one quality

Since this is SWC, I’d like to make my answer specific to SWC leaders. I believe that a leader should be flexible. This might seem like a general quality on the surface, but in SWC, a leader should embody flexibility by accommodating to all types of people - from the newest community members to the oldest. I remember being incredibly lost and confused when I first joined SWC during the July ’24 session, and I was lucky enough to cross paths with all of the incredible leaders who welcomed me into the community and allowed me to catch up at my own pace. They didn’t expect me to be the world’s best writer or to know every inside joke - they were sources of guidance that I could turn to whenever I had questions about anything.

Flexibility is a quality that I deeply admire, so I know exactly how I plan to embody it. I would like to encourage new writers to explore the world of writing until they find their styles. I want to let my campers know that it’s okay to make grammatical mistakes or not know how to use metaphors. As long as they’re writing, they’re fulfilling the purpose of being a member of this community. SWC can often be a highly competitive environment, and while that is definitely motivational, in the past it has also caused me to feel like I can’t measure up to the “better” writers. I often used to compare myself to those who knew “bigger words” or were better at using rhetorical devices. As a leader, I’d still like to encourage my campers to embrace the competitiveness a little - without getting too caught up in it, and instead focusing on making their writing unique enough to be incomparable. After all, everyone writes differently, and I believe that the most important part of writing is making a name for yourself by writing in the style that works best for you!

cabin atmosphere

An encouraging, relaxed cabin with a focus on writing improvement, motivation, and forming new friendships!
(107 characters)

checkboxes

I will be available to add points consistently in the main cabin throughout the session.
I’m willing to share a promotional project for SWC.

I can complete all co/leader responsibilities!

If a co/leader goes inactive, I will re-assign their tasks to the rest of the group. I will also be prepared to take on those tasks myself in case my other co-leaders are unable to do so. I’ll ask the inactive person if they have any ideas that they want me to pursue while they’re away. If they have to go inactive unexpectedly, I’ll likely shrink the workload in case we weren’t prepared in advance. We might have to remove a few plot points, but we should still be able to manage the cabin as usual. I’d also divide up their word count group among the rest of us.

If I have to go inactive for any reason, I’ll let my co-leaders know several days in advance. I’ll tell them what needs to be done in the moment to keep the cabin running while I’m gone, but I won’t force any extra tasks upon them unless a storyline-related deadline has to be met. If I disappear unexpectedly, that might make things a bit harder. Therefore, I plan to create an extensive plan at the beginning of the session, outlining everything that we will be doing as co/leaders. This will prepare all of us for the coming month, and my co-leaders can look back at the plan if I’m ever unable to return from being inactive.

bonus question

I’m a physics person, not a biology person, so I’ve been studying buoyancy instead of sea animals. I feel like I’d probably be a shark or a whale. I could also be a plant.

Critique for Kiara's App <3
(sorry its not much ^^)

Hiiiiiiiiii super excited to critique your app!! I hope this is helpful in any way ^^

About me -
A transitional sentence or two between your first paragraph and second might be good as the jump from the first to the next feels very abrupt and while it's not too bad, might help the flow better.

Unrelated but I LOVE BAKING its so fun ahjsk1hgu

Aside from that, this section is so good!! I usually have a lot to say here, but you’ve done a really good job. As i mentioned above, my only advice would be to keep an eye on the transitions <3

Experience -
If it doesn’t doxx you, it might be worth mentioning a bit about what National Junior Honours Society is! <3

I also like to talk a little bit about what I’ve learnt from my SWC leadership, so it feels a little more real that just a list. That's only personal preference though, and it's great regardless <3

And if you have any irl writing experiences, make sure to mention those too <3

Cabin Preferences -
Nothing to say here!

Time Dedication -
I don’t have anything to say here either! It looks great <3

Time Management -
I think that a little more elaboration on your focus strength would be great, as you’ve said a lot about your weakness and it might help to balance it out a bit. <3

Collaboration and Assets -
This looks so good! Again, not much to say, aside from maybe bringing up how you combat your weaknesses in a real life situation as well as SWC? Not necessary for hits section if you want to skip out on it, just personal preference <3

One Quality -
This is so good, I love this <3

Checkboxes -
Nothing to say here!

This is such a good app Kiara!! I genuinely had so much trouble picking this apart, so I hope anything I’ve said is helpful at all ^^
Good luck!! (although I doubt you’ll need it ;D)

Critique for Cat <33

Hihihihi im so sorry there's not more to this your app was so hard to pick apart (because it was so amazing), but i hope this is helpful anyhow and good luck!! (although I doubt you’ll need it) <33

About me -
I don’t have much to say here, it looks really good, but you might want a transitional sentence or two between your first paragraph and the second so it flows a bit better?

Experience -
I’d suggest going a little more in depth about each of your leadership experiences, particularly in real life, as I find that its a really good thing to elaborate on. As well as the in real life writing camps you mentioned (without doxing!! <3)
I also like to elaborate a little on what I’ve learnt from my SWC leading time, but thats only personal preference. <3

Cabin Preferences -
I don’t have anything to say here. <3

Time Dedication -
A little transition sentence between when you state how active you’ll be and what would cause any inactivity could be good? Just to help with the flow.

Time Management -
I might avoid saying ‘unlike many SWCers’ because it does sound slightly negative towards others, and could be taken the wrong way! Although I doubt you meant it like that I’d recommend changing just the intro to that sentence <3

It also might be good if you want to elaborate a little more on the other two strengths you mentioned, ‘cause next to your first, the methods you use sound vague in comparison <3

And with your weaknesses it might be good to elaborate on specific strategies you use, just so it sounds a little less vague <3

Collaboration and Assets -
Similar to what I said for the section above, mentioning specific ways you improve on your weaknesses/utilise your strengths could be good <3

One Quality -
This looks great! <3

Checkboxes -
Again, this looks great!! <33

Hello!!! These are all just suggestions, remember this is your application <3
About Me

cinammcnx wrote:

Hi! I’m Mabel, (she/her) a chaotic girl with an obsession for Hello Kitty.

I'd suggest putting the comma after “(she/her)” <3

cinammcnx wrote:

I’ve found a love for singing songs whether that be ones I write on my own or ones I enjoy listening too. I constantly find myself singing—whether that's quietly humming or struggling to belt out defying gravity in my shower!

Both of these sentences contain “whether” so they are mostly the same structure, which doesn't flow as easily. I'd suggest rewording one of the sentences, removing a phrase, or splitting up a sentence.

cinammcnx wrote:

That wraps it up! There are many more things I could go on and on about, but you'd probably get a little tired. ;D

I think you should add a comma in between “about” and “but”.

cinammcnx wrote:

Hopefully by the end of all this you’ve learned something new about me and I hope you have a wonderful day!

This feels like a long sentence, just a suggestion but I'd say split up the sentence (maybe make I hope you have a wonderful day a separate sentence?)

Overall, this was a really good section! Most of my critiques were just smaller ones.

Experience

cinammcnx wrote:

Outside of SWC, I’ve participated in a variety of camps and have been a (co)leader in some of them.
Double space in between “(co)leader” and “in” <3

cinammcnx wrote:

I’m also a current co-host of JWC and so far, it's taught me a lot more about being prepared and having things ready in time.

Maybe add a comma between “far” and “it's”?

cinammcnx wrote:

I didn’t try and encourage people to talk to each other or create a community and bonds between them The next time I lead, I ensure that I will create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages lots of cabin bonding.

I think you forgot a period in between “them” and “The” <3

cinammcnx wrote:

I’m still learning and I’ve made plenty of mistakes but I’ve learnt and reflected from them and I’m ready to try again and do my best!

I love this ending <3

Overall, this answer was awesome! I didn't have very many critiques.

Cabin Preferences

This session was amazing! I didn't have anything to note on it <3

Time Dedication

cinammcnx wrote:

I can dedicate around an hour to SWC everyday during these months and I'd be willing to take up more than 3 hours of my my time towards SWC everyday.

First of all, there's two mys right before “time”. Also, this sentence feels weird? It seems off how you're saying you can dedicate one hour to SWC everyday but you are also willing to take up more than 3 hours for SWC everyday. I'd suggest shortening the sentence, maybe something like “I can dedicate around an hour to SWC everyday during those months. If needed, I'm willing dedicate 2-3 hours more towards it.”

Above all else, this was awesome! Good job on Time Dedication

Time Management

Great answer! <3

Collaboration

cinammcnx wrote:

2. People pleaser
However, as much as it's important to respect other peoples ideas—you need to respect your own too!

Add an apostrophe to “peoples” <3

Overall, this was a good answer!

One quality

I love the quality that you chose!

Cabin Atmosphere

Awesome <3 You do still have 100 more characters to use, so if you'd like you could do that!

Checkboxes

Nothing to comment <3

Overall, your answers were awesome! I did notice quite a bit places that you didn't need a comma/could've added one, but I didn't comment on every single one. It's up to you if you want to go through and fix most of them or not, but I doubt the hosts will be judging based off of where commas are or not. I loved your answers and you did an amazing job! Good luck!

critique for sage!

Introduce Yourself!:

Hey there! I’m Sage (she/her), and I am currently plotting a New World Order out of tape, sticky notes, gasoline, folding chairs, and souls- *cough* I’m a curious youngling who has a lot to learn and a lot on her mind. I’m a female writer who lives in the Empowering Salt Tunnel (est)! When I’m not doing homework, or procrastinating said homework, you can find me practicing for softball, archery, quiz bowl, art club, chess club, or band! You could also probably find me in my basement since I’m a basement dweller, eheheh ✨

As I mentioned above, I love band! In fact, I remember back in October of 2024, I would play my flute during trunk or treat, and kids from church would pass by and wonder why they heard the Carol of the Bells from our car (lol). Last school year, I practiced four hours a day, and it was honestly insane, and I’m hoping to manifest that for this year. I’ve been a flutist in my school’s band for four years now, and this school year, I’ve done marching band, I am currently doing pep band, and I am planning on doing solo & ensemble and maybe trying out for honor band!
Moving on but not quite out of the woods yet: more music! Like I said, I play the flute, but I am also learning piano and kalimba at the moment! For piano, I can play anything that I can play on flute on piano since it’s kind of the same idea. For kalimba, I can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Michael Myers theme, so that’s something, right?

Moving away from music, it’s time for… you guessed it! Archery! This is my third year of archery, and I am SO EXCITED to begin! Last year my high score was a 247/300, and this year I’m shooting for a 280/300! Last year, my first score of the season was a 211, and I’m hoping to stay at a 220 or higher all season this time! I think since this is my last year before high school archery, I have the strange urge to push myself and prove that I can do better than ever. I enjoy competitions because it gives me that weird excited, stressed, and scared feeling (kind of like an adrenaline burst). With every competition and practice session, I learn new skills and improve accuracy, aim, and consistency, and I can't wait to see how I improve this year!

Next, reading! I am a complete book addict, and I’m not really afraid to admit it. I’m currently reading That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. My current favorite reading genres are fantasy, mystery, thriller, and dystopian.

Finally, I would like to take a moment to talk about an interest I never really talked about, and that would be Quiz Bowl! I love QB with an undying passion, and so far, the team I’ve been with is two years undefeated! Quiz Bowl is basically like a gameshow-esque trivia competition with buzzers and all. I’m so ecstatic that I got in because I couldn’t imagine a year without it.

Those are my interests and my solace in the ever-chaotic spiral that is life, and each of them means so much to me, so thank you for taking the time to read this <3

Honestly i think this is great!! It reads really enthusiastic and excited but it could help to have a paragraph about writing especially for swc <3

Past Experience:

This is actually going to be my 5th session of SWC, which is crazy because it feels like not too long ago I was signing up for my first session! My first session was back in November 2024, and I was in Fantasy Haven. One thing that I remember loving about Fantasy Haven is how kind and understanding everyone was and how awesome the community was. I LOVED it. My second session was in Mythology Battlefield, which was my first session leading. I learned SO much from that experience, and I’m eternally grateful that I got picked to lead that session. My third session was in the Utopian Inbetween. That session was so iconic! That July session, I got to make bonds with so many people, and I’m so thankful for it. My fourth and most recent session was in the Action Intelligence Agency. That session taught me so much more about teamwork in SWC.
One thing I would like to say is that I’m grateful for the decision to go back to camping for July and November because I’ve had time to think and to learn about how to lead better and how to run a cabin better. This time I feel WAY more prepared than I did last year.

I have some real-life experience as well. First, I’ve worked at our school’s student-run bank for four years now, and I learned a few things from there, like filling out job applications, being professional when needed, counting money, and how to get through job interviews without being a nervous wreck lol. I also babysit from time to time, and I learned how to manage chaos, disable arguments, and keep a positive environment. I’ve also been one of the oldest in a girl scouts troop for seven years, and I’ve learned quite a lot of leadership skills. We worked together in groups to face challenges and learn new skills. Throughout Girl Scouts, I learned to work with others and be independent, and I learned a lot of life and survival skills. I would also like to mention that I’ve been in Quiz Bowl for two years now, and that helped me A LOT with teamwork, expanding my knowledge base, improving memory, and quick problem solving.

In conclusion, I’ve learned a lot from both SWC and real-life experiences, and I believe that I can take on the challenges, responsibilities, and hardships of being a (co)leader.

no notes!

Cabin Preferences:

Since I am organized (lazy) I have decided to make this part easier by dividing my preferred cabins into four categories. Those categories being:
“LIGHT BULB!!!” “YES” “I'm okay with this” “Maybe not”

YES:
- Mystery
- Dystopian
- Sci-fi
-Thriller

I'm okay with this:
- Gothic
- Horror
- Hi-fi
- Bi-fi

Maybe not:
- Mythology (I've already led Myth <3)
- Action (was just in Action <3)
- Utopian (was in it in July)
- Romance

LIGHT BULB (idea!!):

Fantasy or Adventure -
So, hear me out. I would honestly love to do a D&D inspired cabin. I would definitely like an interactive cabin with a fun and engaging storyline! I already have tons of activity ideas for this cabin but for the storyline, I was thinking to vary it off of camper activity. Anyway, here’s the idea:

Astoria was once a peaceful land where all creatures could all get along, but recently things have been… different. Weird things have been happening all over. Strange vines have been growing wild in Dalerin (the gnome land), ogres have attacked a few human villages, goblins have been stealing, and dragons… we haven’t seen the dragons in months. Yes, it’s true. The usually friendly flying companions have made themselves scarce. The council of elders have called to court once or twice but the only councilors present were the human councilors, the faery councilors, and the elf councilors. The others never came.
We need you to help us figure out what is happening, why it’s happening, and who is up to this.
The campers will be chosen for the Everglow which is a band of heroes and adventurers whose task is to find out what is happening and put it to an end before all of Astoria is fully corrupt by whoever is behind this. Will they succeed?

TCTWNW (The Cabin That Will Not Win): I always love TCTWNW and I have nothing against it but one thing I love about SWC is how competitive it is and I also like really active and lively atmospheres so it probably wouldn’t be the best for me.

I think just editing this a bit would help! Idk if you’ve edited yet but some more punctuation and less redundancy would really strengthen this <3 love the idea!!

Time Dedication:

So as of right now, my March schedule is not for sure at all because our school is starting a bunch of stuff late for some reason this year. I can’t imagine the drama club will have their musical in March because we haven’t even had auditions yet. I might have some tests at the end of March but it really wouldn’t take up much time. Solo & ensemble band will take up a bit of one day, quiz bowl will take away one evening, and archery will take some of my Saturdays. I can dedicate a guaranteed 1 to 3 hours a day and if something pops up, I will let my team know as soon as I can.

For February, I should only have archery practice, drama club practice, quiz bowl practice, maybe some studying for spelling bee, pep band, and occasionally art club. I know it sounds like a lot, but really, it isn’t much and every day I can get in about 45mins to 2 hours of scratch.

For January, once I release my app, I will be working super hard on getting a real-life art application in. It means a lot to me and it’s due by the 23rd so I’m going to give it my all. I also have homework, pep band, archery, and quiz bowl but those, again, don’t take up much time. In January, I should have 30mins to 2 hours to spare

To me, a lot of this could be cut out. I would replace the whole first paragraph with just a couple sentences. “While my March schedule is not fully worked out yet, I can dedicate 1 to 3 hours a day to SWC. My hobbies and extracurriculars will take up x to x hours of my time, and if anything pops up, I will let my team know as soon as possible.” Same thing for the other two, just reduce it to “My hobbies take up most of my time in February, and I expect to dedicate 1-2 hours to SWC.” etc

Time Management:

I feel like I've gotten farther with time management than I was last year, but there is still plenty of room for improvement! Time management is a very important skill that I’ve always struggled a bit with and I strive to improve it. Without further ado, let’s start.

One of my strengths in the time management department is organization. Typically, I tend to be a very organized person. I love to make to-do lists and I like to keep my work spaces clean. Organizing things makes me feel energized, calm, and in-control. It also, increases my productivity and decreases my anxiety

My second strength that I would like to mention is planning. Planning makes me feel happy and comfortable because if I have a plan and stick to the plan, it’s less likely to all fall apart. If a plan doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to or in the event that it does fall apart, I’m a pretty adaptable person. Making and changing plans really isn’t a problem for me. As mentioned above in the organization category, I love creating to-do lists! Although, sometimes I bite off more than I can chew. When that happens, I change my schedule and prioritize getting the important stuff done on time and the other stuff done as soon as possible. Planning also forces me to make decisions which helps me work through another shortcoming of mine which is indecisiveness. Planning helps increase my chances of getting something done and helps motivate me to do it.

With planning also comes overthinking. Overthinking is usually a big problem for me because sometimes it causes me to kind of freeze up and doubt myself. I always find every way that something could play out and come up with random situations and play them out in my mind. Doing that takes up a whole bunch of my time (mainly sleep time). Due to overthinking, I’m usually up later than I’d like. However, in an odd way, I think overthinking also causes me to do good with a group of people! In group projects, I might overthink an idea I had but when I decide to just share it, it usually works out. I also think a little overthinking isn’t a terrible thing because it causes me to think things through instead of making bad decisions or messing up. What I need to work on here is to acknowledge when I’m overthinking and work through it.

My final setback is procrastination. I have a master’s degree in procrastination at this point and that is definitely not a good thing. In fact, I probably even procrastinated writing this answer to be honest. I get very easily distracted by little things around me and when working on something, I’ll think “ooh! What about this?” and I’ll pause what I’m doing. Procrastination is annoying and I’m hoping to really buckle down and work on it this year! I’ve been improving on it by making to-do lists (hence my organizational skills) and making goals, setting timers, and deadlines. It’s really helping!

While we all have our struggles and shortcomings, it is important to work on them and strive to improve. I see this and plan to make progress in working through my procrastination and overthinking with my aforementioned efforts.

Collaboration and Assets:

I absolutely love working with people! I find that people in this community are some of the most kind and understanding people that I’ve ever interacted with and that I don’t have any trouble working with anyone here!

My first strength that I would like to bring up is that I’m pretty open-minded. I can take feedback well and I am open to different opinions and new ideas. I am always open to a change of plans if needed and I tend to take it well! If something happens, I can adjust and help make new plans.

The second strength I’ll mention is communication! Communication is a broad topic so to be more specific, I'm a good listener and an empath. Well, I guess I'm not really listening to anything here; I'm reading. I'm a good listener and I tend to remember things people tell me. For example, my parents could never get me to nap when I was little so one day they said “If you go to sleep, we'll give you M&Ms when you wake up” and when I woke up the first thing I asked for was my M&Ms. Okay, you can add motivation by food to the list I guess xD. As for empathy, I have always been an empath. I tend to put myself in other people's shoes all the time and think “what would I do in their situation?” I find this helps me to not only solve other people's problems but sometimes my own.

Now that I've talked about my strengths, let's switch it up.

The first weakness I’d like to mention is perfectionism. My kind of perfectionism is self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism. Self oriented perfectionism is where you have very high personal standards, expect to be perfect, and are very self-critical if you don’t reach your expectations. I admittedly set the bar too high for myself and I’m starting to actually realize that which I think is an important step in overcoming it. I’m also beginning to realize that I don’t have to be perfect and that it’s okay to make mistakes.

People-pleasing is another weakness of mine. Sometimes I wonder if pleasing people is truly a bad trait and then I did my research and it appears it is. I always want everyone to be happy and to not feel any pain. I always fail to realize how much I take on by being their go-to person and funnily enough, I still do. I still have a hard time saying no to people. Also, with people-pleasing comes indecisiveness. I fear to make decisions and sometimes even to voice them because I’m admittedly afraid of what people might think. However, I have improved and came along a bit in this from where I was last year. I’ve started to say no more often (when needed) and share my ideas.

Finally, what do I bring to the team? I think there’s quite a few things I’m decently good at! Tasks wise, I can do art, design, and I tend to have tons of ideas if you need them! Personality wise, I’m a pretty hard worker, I’m supportive, and I’m pretty easy to talk to (I hope <3). I bring different ideas and a new point of view to the matter. I also come with extra mangoes if you want that

similar to before, i think this drags on a little long. Dont get me wrong, its very well written, but i would suggest cutting some of both time mana and collab out since its over 1k for just those two answers!

One Quality:

I think one quality I really admire is being easy to talk to or approachability. I love people who are kind and easy to talk to and I want to be that person for others. I strive to be friendly, humble, and approachable because as someone that struggles sharing their ideas without overthinking it, I want to create a space where people feel like they can share their ideas freely. I think that sharing ideas is a crucial part of teamwork and if someone doesn't feel welcome enough to freely share, that's not good and I want to try to do everything I can to make it better.

Some things I could do to make it feel like a safe place is to interact more with my campers, leadership team, and even people outside my cabin. I find that I usually don't check in and say “Hey, how are you?” often and I think that's something I want to implement more often. I also want to make sure that no one is stressed out on my leadership team or in my cabin. Oftentimes, I find that I'm a little overwhelming because I tend to have so many ideas and I want to make it happen but sometimes it's too much. For example, say I have a plan for a cabin activities and I have a schedule for them getting those activities posted or done but I forgot to factor in camper activity. I will not be doing that. Avoiding that is one of my number-one goals this session.

This session I aim to be more approachable and to make people feel more welcome in this community.

i like this answer a lot!!

Checkboxes:

✓ I will be available to help add points in the main cabin consistently throughout camp

✓ I’m willing to share a promotional project for SWC

There aren’t any of those leadership responsibilities that I cannot complete. If I see anything not added in the main cabin, I will try to get it added because I know how frustrating it is to sift through the chaos and find points that haven’t been added and honestly, if I see it, I might as well add it and not let it be another (co)leader’s problem! As for the second responsibility, I have made a promotional project before and I would have no problem making another one!

To be honest, I’d just keep it at “I can complete all the responsibilities”!

If someone on my leadership team is inactive, I will do my best to fill in for the inactive (co)leader and keep the cabin running smoothly. In that situation, my goal would be to keep the cabin running as if we weren’t missing anyone. I would also see what of their responsibilities I could help them with while they’re absent.
If something pops up for me, I will immediately let my leadership team know so we have time to discuss who needs to do what to keep the cabin running smoothly. If something happens and I have to leave immediately for something, I will notify them as soon as possible after and help us get caught up.
I think it would be good to have a small “In case someone is absent” procedure or something planned out so it doesn’t get messy if it does happen and so that we know exactly what to do.

Perfect!!

This is great! Your personality really shines through. The biggest thing for me is just the length–I would cut some of it out. You do a really good job in all of your answers, but it tends to get a little “overexplained” at times.

about me

Hey there! I'm Zy (he/him), a digital artist, trampoline enthusiastic, member of the world's worst timezones (PST, obviously), and writer!! In addition to these, I really like making jewelry, playing video games, working out, and trying new things–just recently I decided to try running for the first time, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my time doing it. I'm a highschool junior and dual enrollment student currently trying to decide what I want to pursue in the future!

ART - I really enjoy all the elements of digital art and design! This month I've taken a little break from it, but it's something I've been doing for the last six years and my love for it has only grown.

TRAMPOLINE - There's no trampoline emoji so I guess you'll just have to imagine it ;D

WRITING - And last but not least, I love writing! I've been coming up with stories since I was a little kid, and finding SWC has only exemplified my passion for it. There's truly no words to describe how valuable this community is to me <3

Having a list of goals has helped me accomplish so much in the past few sessions, so here are my goals for March ‘26 regardless of role!

- Write 40k words
Between my novel, schoolwork, and SWC challenges, I hope to hit 40k in the month of March! It was so nice to take a longer break in July and November, but I’m eager to jump back into it!

- Write 30k in my novel
Writing a novel is a huge undertaking, and it means a ton to me–I want to work on it until it's finished, instead of leaving it in a pile of half-blank documents with the rest of my stories. This should bring it up to 60k, which will be the furthest I've ever got!

- Do all 4 weeklies and 20 dailies
The daily and weekly prompts are always so much fun to do, and I've really grown my writing skills with them! This session, I want to do as many of them as I can, and I think this amount should work perfectly.

previous participation

Yes, I have! This will be my 18th session, and (fingers crossed!) fifth session co/leading! You can find all my session experience here. If I get the chance to co/lead again in this coming session, my goals will be centered around a focus on teamwork and trying something new!

March ‘24
This was my first session leading, and I got learn what goes into being a good leader and team member! This experience was really insightful for me, and I definitely took on a bit too much in my pursuit to make my first time leading a success.

November ’24
This was my second session leading, and this session I wanted to create a super detailed storyline! Again, this session was a little too ambitious, but it was still a ton of fun, and I got to learn more about teamwork and what goes into such a huge project.

March ‘25
This was my third session leading, and I gave everything I had to hitting my word goal and creating an unforgettable storyline. This was my best executed cabin yet (if I do say so myself), and I had so much fun this session. If I were to change something about how I led in March, I would focus on getting to know everyone better!

July ’25
This was my most recent session leading, and I focused on interacting with my cabin and completing personal projects! I ended up getting a bit sidetracked and overwhelmed, but I think the experience led me to better understand more about myself and my style of leadership!

I've learned so much from all of them, but recently, my focus has been on growing consistency instead of knowledge so I can finally finish all the stories I've been dreaming up!

⋆✴︎˚。⋆
cabin preferences

I would love to co/lead any cabin with an original storyline, and I'd be more than happy to contribute to an existing idea or work with a team to come up with a new one! With that in mind, here are my cabin preferences:

While my genre preferences are below, my main priority would be on having an original storyline!

Love (+ideas!!!)
- Dystopian
- Thriller
- Dark fantasy
- Horror
- Any _punk cabin
- Apocalyptic
- Sci-fi
- Mystery

Yes!
- Action
- Fantasy
- Adventure
- Mythology
- Poetry
- Folklore
- Tragedy

Not a big fan
- Non-fi
- Romance
- Hi-fi
- Real-fi

*not ordered

This session, I would love to co/lead a cyberpunk cabin! I prefer to work out storyline details with my team, but the general idea is set in a futuristic world where campers go through multiple projects to collaborate and solve problems together. This could be adapted to fit sci-fi, dystopian, or apocalyptic too!

I also love the idea of leading a locked-room horror, thriller, apocalyptic, or mystery cabin! The campers would find clues about suspects and try to solve the mystery and/or escape.

When it comes to my cabin preferences, I'm not picky–I'd love to be a part of any cabin! The only cabins I am not likely to accept a role in are non-fi and romance–while I would be incredibly honored to be considered, I don't think I would be best suited to co/lead either of them due to my lack of favorability towards them; something I would never want to negatively impact my team or cabin! In addition to this, I am not interested in co/leading TCTWNW this session due to March being my most active and competition-geared session!

time dedication

I would expect to dedicate one to two hours a day to SWC and its related activities! My only commitments are schoolwork and my hobbies, which take up a couple hours everyday–beyond that, I'm expecting to spend two non-consecutive days traveling in either January or February, and my only concern would be the reliability of my internet during that time. I consider myself to be very good at managing my time to ensure everything is completed on schedule, so I have no concerns about these impeding my responsibilities as a co/leader!

6
⋆˚✿˖°
time management

Skills:
- Organized
I consider myself to be a very organized person in every aspect of my life! I really enjoy making to-do lists, planning, and think ahead. Utilizing this has allowed me to be very productive and efficient with my time, accomplishing my goals without worry and leaving plenty of time for rest, so I can fully enjoy and balance my schoolwork, personal life, and hobbies!

- Adaptable
I am very quick to adapt to new situations, which allows me to take on unique and multifaceted challenges in a variety of ways! Recently, I used this to directly readjust multiple projects after I was able to learn more about how my mind functions best. My flexibility in this regard let me take that on immediately and continue working with increased efficiency because of it!

- Consistency
Working on long-term projects is really enjoyable to me, and I'm able to consistently put forth effort on them until completion. In SWC, I've been utilizing that to collaborate with my team and create interactive storylines and engaging cabins, while I also work on my personal writing projects. I love dedicating my time and energy to longer-term projects that see both more collaboration and more payoff because of that!

This lets my mind think of ways to expand on those ideas while I work on other things, which ends up being more productive overall!

- Overcommitment
I have the tendency to overcommit to projects–I get really passionate about what I'm working on, and that drives me to want it to reach its highest potential at the cost of spreading myself, my time, and my resources too thin, forcing other projects to take a hit as a result. I've been taking this on by utilizing my organization strategies to create lists and complete each item before trying to add to any part of them, ensuring each one has what it needs to succeed!

- Overworking
Overworking is something I used to think of as good–it's good to get as much done as possible, right? But ultimately, trying to do too much only leaves room for burnout and exhaustion, both of which have plagued me multiple times. Recently, I've been combating this by incorporating planned breaks into my schedule, so I have time to rest and recharge in between working sessions. So far, this has been super effective at letting me return refreshed and ready to continue instead of tired and resentful of my own passions!

⋆。˚ 7 ⋆。˚
✦ . ୨୧ ⁺
collaboration + assets

Strengths:
- Open Minded
I'm a very open-minded person, and I always consider other people's goals and experiences when making decisions! The most important thing to me is making sure that everyone feels heard and understood, and has no concerns about expressing their stance or ideas, because I truly value every perspective and contribution.

- Communicative
Luckily, communication is something that comes super easily to me! Whenever I'm faced with a challenge or obstacle, my first instinct is to communicate that with my team so we can work together on a feasible solution. Teamwork is really enjoyable to me, and employing that allows me to benefit from collaborative effort in a unique way, one where I can both reflect on that experience and learn from it!

- Optimistic
I'm the kind of person who always sees the positive in things and is always looking for the upside of a situation. I live by the quote “It'll work out in the end–and if it's not working out, it's not the end.” which leads me to work through projects and never give up on them. My optimism is tied into my ambition, and my drive to succeed and continue, going up against obstacles and valuing my experience in getting to my goals!

Weaknesses:
- Overconfidence
Due mostly to my optimism, I tend to be overconfident that things will always work out whether or not I intervene in them. This has led me to work less on a project than I should, which unfairly balances responsibilities onto my team. To combat this, I utilize my strengths in organization and time management to create specific plans and accomplish those things, employing my optimism to inspire me to continue instead of letting its overconfidence drag me around.

- Strongly Opinionated
I'm a very opinionated person–and while those opinions never negatively influence my perception of other people, I tend to be quick to arrive at the conclusion that someone dislikes me or unfavorably views my contributions. While this is much harder to fight with tangible steps, I've been practicing reminding myself that my ideas are valuable regardless of how someone else views them. In the past, I tried to remind myself that people do not think of me unfavorably, but I ended up coming up with new reasons they did instead of prioritizing my worth outside of someone's opinion!

In addition to my strengths, I have a lot of experience in digital art, graphic design, coding, and organization–these are the assets I bring to a leadership team!

one quality

There are truly so many important qualities that an amazing leader possesses, but this time around I want to focus on passion: being passionate about something changes how you view every component of it, and utilizing that within a leadership role expands on the experience for everyone! I view leadership roles in SWC as a balance of writing, building relationships, teamwork and creativity–and I plan to apply my passion for all of those things to create a unique and interactive storyline, work closely with my team, connect with everyone in my cabin, and succeed in both personal and collaborative projects!

10b: Nope, I am confident in my abilities to complete all co/leader responsibilities as listed!

10c: My first goal, if I were faced with inactivity, would be to inform both the hosts and my team! From there, if the inactivity was mine, I would work to complete my tasks in a timely fashion and help out when possible to ensure my team doesn't shoulder the burden of my inactivity. If the inactivity were someone else's, my priority would be discussing with my team how we can plan to balance the absent member's responsibilities between us until they can return. In general, I prefer to get things done earlier rather later so that someone's inactivity, be it mine or another's, doesn't result in the cabin falling behind schedule!

- - Question 1: About Me => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

Yo, wsp y'all! It's Vicky, your only partially sane, not-so-average British teen coming to you right from the rainy terrains of UTC. I go by she/her and I'm an avid purple lover and muslim. You'll probably find me working on my latest mass plotted story, whilst singing some kpop song off lyric, convincing my friend to join my latest fandom and spiralling too deep into homework. Yup, that’s me! My variety of hobbies has made me a great multi-tasker who thrives on keeping life busy, colourful, and just a little unpredictable.

Writing is a hobby that has stuck with me since a very young age, and now is a skill I cherish and cradle – not only is it my source of comfort and cleansing, it's a way for me to make sense from the chaos in my head. Sometimes I'm converting my rants and vents into a real-fi short story or a psychological horror poem. Or I'm planning a large scale plot novel trilogy on notion: usually in genres mystery and crime, real-fi, fantasy, dystopian cyberpunk and more funky genres.

My love for reading also goes hand in hand with my passion for writing. Much like writing, I have been a bookworm since I was young and enjoy delving into a variety of genres, my latest interest being mystery books like AGGGTM series and One of Us is Lying, but I also enjoy many other genres like fantasy books such as the Shatter Me series and Six of Crows.

I’m endlessly drawn to stories — whether on a page or on a screen — and the worlds they create. I love entertaining myself with a range of different genres and categories of films, and I often become super invested into them hence my endless fandom list. From my childhood favourites like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Beyblade Burst and The Unlisted, action K-Dramas like Weak Hero and horror K-Dramas like Night Has Come. I'm also fond of animation like Spiderman: Across the Spider-verse and Arcane: League of Legends. Furthermore, my latest hyperfixation => ANIME!!!!!!! IMy top unbested favourite is Jujutsu Kaisen, (tryna binge s2 bcs s3 is coming out!!!!) but I'm also a huge fan of Demon Slayer and I'm currently watching My Hero Academia/ Anime strikes interest for me in the Japanese culture and seriously sparks my love for art, so yeah I <3 Anime

Art plays a crucial role in my life, which is why I have chosen to take Art for GCSEs with the hope of pursuing it professionally in the future. I particularly enjoy traditional art forms such as hand lettering, sketching, and painting, as they allow me to express creativity in a hands-on and personal way. Recently, my interest in hand lettering has grown into a passion for card making, and I’ve decided to take my skills to the next level by starting a small card-making business.

Alongside visual art, crochet is one of my most beloved hobbies. Although often seen as a boring pastime, I find it incredibly relaxing and rewarding. It is an affordable way to create meaningful items while giving me complete creative freedom to design things exactly how I envision them.

Those are a few of the things I spend my downtime doing, and what shapes my personality but if you want to get to know me more I'd love for you to pop a comment into my profile <3 That's enough yapping from me!

- - Question 2: Experience => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

This March will be my 3 year SWC anniversary, and I'm proud to say I have participated in 6 memorable sessions of SWC. For five of these sessions I participated as a camper, and for one (Utopian March 2025), I participated as a proud co-leader along with Sunny and Liv

▥ Co-Leading Utopian SWC March 25'

Co-Leading Utopian SWC March 25' - This session really gave me a lot of experience and insight to what it was like inside the leadership team of SWC. It opened my eyes to responsibilities and the larger scale planning of a bigger camp, and Liv's wonderfully organised leadership taught me so much. Through all this experience, this session was truly special to me on an emotional level too as I bonded with the campers and my fellow co and leader and we had sooo much fun designing and planning together. It really holds a special place in my heart <3

Furthermore, I have participated in 13 other scratch camps; twice holding the position of leader. I am also currently a host in UMBC, SCC and SDWC.

Hosting UMBC - I am the founder and host of an upcoming organisation called UMBC. It’s been in the works for a while now, but the process hasn’t been as smooth as I originally expected. I’ve had to postpone the reveal a few times, mainly due to inactivity, and while that was frustrating, it taught me a lot about responsibility and leadership. I realised that as the founder, I can’t always wait for things to fall into place — sometimes I have to be the one to push things forward.

This experience helped me understand the importance of consistency and realistic planning. Instead of feeling discouraged by setbacks, I've chosen to take more initiative and start getting things organised myself so that when people do join, the process will be smooth and well-structured. I’ve also learned to be patient with both the project and myself, knowing that good leadership isn’t about rushing but about looking at the long-term perspective in order to attain sustainability. Having my co-hosts, Cat and Elly, to support me when needed has also shown me the value of teamwork and asking for help.

Writing Experience - Irl in terms of writing experience I have been writing since a very young age, even publishing my work in a joint book at the age of 10. Since then, my writing has only grown and discovering swc was the biggest improvement to my writing yet, making me discover my own style and enhance my joy of writing - all of a sudden, my writing was something i could be proud of and share to fellow writers, even entering an irl writing competition and having my poem ‘Hello Death, is that you?’ published in their book. I'm grateful to swc to everything it's taught me, from the helpful workshops and weeklies, to the swclassic dailies and every swc'ers work i read and was inspired by, each one of you special gems have helped me so much in my writing that I'm even looking at it professionally thanks to swc, so I hope it continues to grow my writing and many others too.

Leadership Experience - In terms of irl leadership experience, I've always had a loud, confident leader-like personality. I've taken on multiple leadership roles throughout my academia. In primary school I was constantly taking on rolls like prefect, well-being lead and even co-hosting a talent show. In secondary school I have taken on student council, anti-bullying lead and this year mainly just helping my form teacher with various responsibilities such as organising our inter-form party and co-ordinating our schools annual tin collection charity event.

As I'm applying for co, I don't really have much of a preference for any cabins and would be grateful for any offers, although I'm not the most keen on non-fiction or something like classics or folk-lore as I don't suit those kind of genres. In terms of TCTWNW I would love to co-lead this cabin as it would suit my direction this session.

- - Question 5: Time Dedication => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

It is to be noted that Ramadhan will start during February and run through the starts of March, and all though it should not majorly affect my activity, I will be prioritising my faith and personal growth during these days.
Bearing in mind I live in UTC and go to school and have a reasonable sleep schedule, most of my activity will be around the evening times of the day. Realistically, I will be able to dedicate a minimum of 20 minutes per school day to SWC and on weekends however long it takes to cover all responsibilities + word adding and point adding in the main cabin throughout the day, which could be 1-3 hours.
March will be a fairly busy time for me in terms of school as I will be revising ahead for my exams which will take place during the end of March through to April so around the end of March my activity will slightly decrease. February and January shouldn't be a very busy time for me though.
Overall, I will be taking a quieter approach to SWC this session, and plan on focusing solely on my cabin and personal projects rather than competition.

- - Question 6: Time Management => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

Skill: I'm a great multi-tasker and balancer as I do have to juggle a lot of things at once. I work well under pressure and was made for a busy packed lifestyle.
Shortcoming: Although I do work well under pressure, too much pressure and closing deadlines will make me panicky, resulting in work underperformed or not turning out the way I wanted it to.
Skill: I'm good at preventing this by setting earlier deadlines, organising my time and sorting out things beforehand. Even when I do sometimes procrastinate, I never fully miss a deadline, and I know how to prioritise so if it becomes too late I can cut unnecessary things of and get the thing done before time runs out.
Shortcoming: Me meilluere ennemie (my greatest enemy) comes rolling in like a thunderstorm wrecking all my productivity and organisation. Yup, it's procrastination. Procrastination is the fire; scrolling and reading are the fuel. Being brutally honest I'd say I'm weakest to procrastination during the weekends and Fridays when I have more time, otherwise I just don't have time, and I know I don't have time so I get things done. But when I do ‘have time’ I could spend hours just reading a book, or staring at the screen in worlds of my own. I admit it.
Skill: BUT! I am actively trying to fight procrastination, by actually sticking to my to-do lists and schedules, breaking tasks into smaller bits and rotating between them so I don't get too sick of any one thing, and generally just reducing my to-do lists to sometimes something more do-able. As I said before, I mostly procrastinate during the weekends so actually putting more tasks on would help, spacing them through the day so I do get breaks but I'm still being productive. Anyway this is a journey I'm still on so wish me luck! <333

﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒ ⟡ ˗ˏˋ ☆ ˎˊ˗ ⟡ ﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒
- - Question 7: Collaboration and Assets => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

Skill: I genuinely love meeting new people and getting to know different personalities — I’m the type who can strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel comfortable. I’m sociable and compassionate, so in group settings I often end up being the one people turn to, whether it’s for leadership or just to break the awkward silence. I don’t mind taking the lead on projects or stepping up when something needs to get done, and honestly, I kind of thrive in those moments. For me, collaboration is about making everyone feel included while keeping the vibe positive.
Skill: I'm also the ‘group hyper’ or the positive affirmation vending machine, because everyone needs motivation and everyone needs someone to tell them they're loved, or their work is good. I do this from personal experience, in times when all I needed was just one person to care and no one did. Our generation is so affected by mental health, and another thing I want to do with my cabin is include self-care and affirmation. This was majorly inspired by Liv: during the time that she was my leader she was always checking in with me and Sunny, and it built a positive atmosphere and showed she cares. <3
Skill: I’m very open-minded, and one of my favourite things to do is take bits of everyone’s ideas and fuse them into something bigger and better. I always try to be fair and inclusive, making sure every voice is heard. From past group leading experience, I’ve learned how important it is to be the person who ‘cools down’ a conflict — I’m the type to listen to both sides, empathise, and find common ground. Honestly, I think one of my strongest collaboration skills is how empathetic I am, I try to understand the people around me and show them that I care.
Shortcomings: I’d say my energy can be… a lot. I’m loud, enthusiastic, and sometimes that intensity can overwhelm quieter people. It’s something I’ve been learning to balance — knowing when to take the lead and when to step back. My chaotic aura is what shapes me as a person, but I do understand that it can be both a strength and a weakness: it makes me bold, but it also means I need to stay mindful of balance.
Shortcomings: I can be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to projects I care about. Sometimes I get caught up in the tiny details, which can slow me down or make me feel like nothing is ever good enough. I’ve been learning to balance this by trusting my team and reminding myself that done together is better than done alone. Perfectionism pushes me to give my best, but I’m working on not letting it hold me (or others) back.

Assets I bring to a leading team:
Graphic design & aesthetics
Organisation → I’m good at structuring plans, though I usually work on notion, I'd be really useful with general organising in a clean, readable way. (im not very good with spreadsheets!)
Idea generation → My brain runs on chaos + creativity, so I’m always throwing out fresh concepts and ways to improve projects.
Communication → I’m approachable, a good listener, and a team player through and through.
Adaptability → I thrive under pressure and can adjust quickly if plans need to change.
Team energy → I bring enthusiasm and motivation, making work feel exciting rather than stressful.

﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒ ⟡ ˗ˏˋ ☆ ˎˊ˗ ⟡ ﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒﹒
- - Question 8: One Quality => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

I've chosen the quality of empathy. A leader who is empathetic understands the people they’re leading — not just their skills, but their feelings, struggles, and motivations. Empathy builds trust, and when people feel heard and respected, they’re more willing to work hard, speak honestly, and support each other. An empathetic leader leads through more than authority; this makes the people their leading feel connected to their leader and creates a safer, loving environment where you can grow, make mistakes and still feel valued, ultimately making the team more united and together. Empathy also helps leaders make fairer decisions, because they consider how their choices affect others, not just the outcome.

I will embody this quality by trying my best to ensure everyone around me -the leadership team and campers- feel comfortable enough to open up to me, as I try to make them feel welcomed. Furthermore, I will encourage everyone to prioritise life>swc and try to make sure everyone's wellbeing is prioritised and that they are happy in my cabin <3

- - Question 10: Checkboxes => DO IT! ✔️✔️✔️ done.ᐟ.ᐟ

a) I will be available to help add points consistently in the main cabin X
I’m willing to share a promotional project for swc. X
b) none! ^^
c) If I knew I was going to be inactive for a few days, I’d make sure to let the team know ahead of time—usually 2 to 3 days in advance. I’d also plan things out before stepping back, like handing out tasks and making sure everyone knows what to do while I’m away. That way, everything keeps running smoothly. If a co-leader was going to be inactive instead, I’d work with them a few days beforehand to divide up the responsibilities between us. As long as there’s good communication and a clear plan, I’m confident we could keep the camp on track.
